Don’t get me wrong: all of these are really good performances, but leaving off Lupita Nyong’o as Roz (The Wild Robot) is a huge oversight. Not only is her performance incredible on all the conventional levels (inflection, emotion, etc.), but she does something incredibly rare: she changes the voice as the movie progresses. By making her voice more emotional, more nuanced as she goes, she’s able to show Roz’s character growth in a way that none of these other performances manage. Indeed, I can’t recall another voice acting performance that does this in nearly as smooth a fashion. Yes, plenty of characters show a variety of emotions, and plenty of vocal performances can change over the course of years (this, of course, well be more readily observable in shows than movies), but I can’t think of another voice actor that managed to show so much character development just on the strength of their performance. Seriously, even if you didn’t understand English, I think you’d be able to notice the progression just from her voice. Maybe there’s been another vocal performance over the course of the last century, but I can’t think of one.
I adore voice actors. They all bring film to life. I’m sure it’s not easy, which makes it all the more magical. I’d love a video of just watching the actors recording!!
To me, some of the greatest voice acting are the ones you couldn't recognize the actors that were voicing the character. If you watched a movie, see a character talking and didn't instantly think of an actor who's voicing it when you heard the character talk, that's phenomenal voice acting
That was it for me with Pattinson in The Boy and the Heron. Until I watched this video, I had absolutely no fucking idea it was him, and even now watching the clip, knowing its him, I still can't hear his voice.
Robert Pattison should be on the list (#2) and not an honorable mention. He has an incredible talent for altering his voice completely for his character. Smooth for Edward Cullen, raspy for the Heron, low for Bruce Wayne, high-pitched for Mickey. He is incredible!🤩
All of these actors really put an outstanding performance into there characters and really brought them to life 😊 and that’s what normally impresses me about voice actors so much ❤️❤️
This is probably my favorite of all the MsMojo lists I've watched. I can't quarrel with a single choice; I'm especially glad to see David Bradley included, along with Eva Whittaker and Robert Pattinson among the Honorable Mentions, and Jenny Slate's Marcel definitely deserves that No. 1 spot. Only one tiny nitpick: the only-one-actor-per-film policy keeps Wagner Moura's deserving turn as the Wolf in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish out of the Honorable Mentions. IMO, he should have been mentioned anyway. Since this list specifies the top performances of this decade rather than "all time," I can't complain about recency bias. However, at some point in the future, a "Top 10 Best Voice Acting Performances from Classic Disney Films" would be a welcome sight. Sterling Holloway's Winnie-the-Pooh, Walter Catlett's Honest John, Edward Brophy's Timothy Mouse, Betty Lou Gerson's Cruella de Vil, and J. Pat O'Malley's Cyril the Horse ("a bit of a trotter, a bit of a rotter") might be included there.
I love Stranger Things, so I was thrilled when I heard Maya was playing Anxiety. I’ve suffered from anxiety for 16 years, and I wound up crying in the theater. She nailed it ❤
The ENTIRE cast of the Spiderverse movies deserve "Best of"accolades for their roles (though Shameik's VA made me fall in love with Miles the moment he was introduced). The voice-acting achieves the ultimate goal of all acting: they don't sound like actors. They sound so casually REAL, as if we're eavesdropping on real conversations with real people in real situations. It's not put-on, it's not funny exaggerated cartoon voices, their voices are REAL.
Jack Black as Bowser was funny and evil. David Bradley as Geppeto was a masterpiece. Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots was a nostalgic moment. Shaneik Moore as Miles Morales a.k.a. the Spider-Man was spectacular.
Here's my pick Jacob Tremblay, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Emma Berman as Luca, Alberto, and Giulia from Pixar's Luca. They bring so much likeability to their characters it's one of the biggest reasons Luca is my favorite 2020s Pixar film. 🥰
Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel and Diane Guerrero as Isabela. Happy saturday night, Sophia, take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well
@@JeremyGlenesk they've done performances of Optimus and Megatron in the last few years. Hello, Rise of the Beasts, comicon? what rock have you been living under?
I will say that a lot of these performances are good. I would've added: .Lin Manuel Miranda as Vivo in Vivo .Frank Welker as Scooby Doo in SCOOB .Rodger Bumpass as Squidward in Sponge on The Run .Wagner Moura as Wolf/Death in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish .Chris Pine as King Magnifico in WISH
I Absolutely Love Jack Black SO much as the Villainous Voice Role of Bowser Koopa from *The Super Mario Bros. Movie* last year in 2023! He was Super Hilarious and Awesome! Can't wait to hear him again as Bowser in *The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2* Sequel Movie in 2026!
@JuanEnriqueFloresJr Yep! Jack Black was Super Badass and Hardcore as Po from *Kung Fu Panda 1, 2, 3 & 4!* Apparently, he doesn't do well in the Live-Action Movie Trailer of *Minecraft.* 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Ashleigh Ball as Nine in Sonic Prime and Grey Griffin as both Puppycorn on Unikitty, Lola, Lana and Lily Loud, Elwood on Kamp Koral and Zac Efron as Fred in Scoob also Lisa Kudrow as Honey in Housebroken and Nat Faxon as Chief and Frog in the Frog and Toad show with Kevin Michael Richardson as Toad.
If you do a list of top tv voice acting performances, or underrated voice acting in general, please include Adam Lambert as either Machiavillian from Megamind rules or the great glitterini on Fraggle rock-back to the rock.
Super sad that Ella Purnell didn't get any mention for her performance as Jinx in Arcane. Most of the list I agree with, but sad that Arcane didn't get any mention at all!
I'm very confused as to why Robert Pattinson's performance was listed as an "honourable mention", when it was a clearly better performance than 90% of this list.
David Bradley was a great Geppetto!!! He really gave a great performance to such a emotional character like Geppetto!! Way better than Tom Hanks in Disney's live action in my opinion
7:47 I'll bring them back!!! I promise!!! & if not, I will PERSONALLY make the High Evolutionary answer for Lylla's demise!!! I will make him WRITHE in agony even after he's BEGGING deaths sweet release I won't let him receive!!!!!
The last HTTYD movie was in 2019, and this list is just for the 2020. I think the second holiday/Snoggletog special might have been released in 2020, but that’s a pretty minor thing.
Robert Pattinson deserved to be in the top 10. NOT in the honorable mentions. You also left out a more recent entry, Lupita Nyong'o as Rozz in The Wild Robot.
Favorites of both is Sheinek Moores in to play MM Spider Man And Jack Black for ever funny and evil intro battle scene Bowser against the penguin empire.

For me, I'd go with Ben Schwartz as Sonic
Voice acting should be considered for Oscars because it’s the hardest form of acting
Alright with Maya Hawke's anxiety but this year's voice acting performance is Lupita Nyong'o as the wild robot.
Maya Hawke is Robin Buckley!
Who's to say that The Wild Robot will win Best Animated Feature?
I don’t care which movie wins, @@ma3mc3mu-X

Andy Serkis for example, Captain Archibald Haddock in TinTin, Ceaser in the Planet of the Apes series of movies and lastly, Golum/Smeagol.

I was like so surprised to see Jack Black as Bowser on the list! I really love The Super Mario Bros. Movie!
And to think that Stephanie also voices Vaggie in "Hazbin Hotel"! Such range!
All of these actors really put an outstanding performance into there characters and really brought them to life 😊 and that’s what normally impresses me about voice actors so much ❤️❤️
Maya Hawke and her lovable awkward and relatability persona, played a role in helping make a problematic character like Anxiety, not flat out hatable
This is probably my favorite of all the MsMojo lists I've watched. As someone who has anxiety for most of my life that’s how I’d imagine her to be.Maya voiced Anxiety perfectly
I get it too… I go into a room by myself to calm down, and listen to music
Thanks!
Thank you so much for your support. It means the world to us. We’d love to hear from you-what do you want to see next?
This is why I think voice actors/actresses are really amazing at what they do.
Reading the comments on this post is absolutely delightful. I almost can’t bear hearing some of the emotions these actors depict for me. Intense.
I love Stranger Things, so I was thrilled when I heard Maya was playing Anxiety. I’ve suffered from anxiety for 16 years, and I wound up crying in the theater. She nailed it ❤

Welp, I bet you regret saying that now
Jack Black as Bowser was funny and evil.
David Bradley as Geppeto was a masterpiece.
Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots was a nostalgic moment.
Shaneik Moore as Miles Morales a.k.a. the Spider-Man was spectacular.
Ella Purnell as Jinx in Arcane
I will always hear Anxiety with Maya Hawke's voice now!
Omg, same!
I’d absolutely enjoyed Jack Black as Bowser in The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Po in Kung Fu Panda 4
Brian Tyree Henry as D-16
Transformers One
Lupita Nyong'o as Roz
The Wild Robot
I hope Hawke gets the chance to thrive.
That is epic to hear! Well done!
Harvey Gullien as Perrito the Dog in Puss in Boots: Last Wish.
Here's my pick
Jacob Tremblay, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Emma Berman as Luca, Alberto, and Giulia from Pixar's Luca. They bring so much likeability to their characters it's one of the biggest reasons Luca is my favorite 2020s Pixar film. 🥰
Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel and Diane Guerrero as Isabela. Happy saturday night, Sophia, take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well
Turning Red is one of my favorites. ❤️
Mine too 💯 🔴🐼
Number 1 Peter Cullen and Frank Welker as Optimus and Megatron now and forever. Fight me
This isn't an all-time list. It's performances of the last few years.
@@JeremyGlenesk they've done performances of Optimus and Megatron in the last few years. Hello, Rise of the Beasts, comicon? what rock have you been living under?
@@Rosewolf29 And was that film an amazing performance for you from either one? Honestly forgot that movie existed because it was so forgettable.
@@JeremyGlenesk 😑wow, just wow. What a smartass of stupidity we got.
I will say that a lot of these performances are good. I would've added:

My favorite is Ben Schwartz did voice acting as Sonic
Cool list really enjoyed it
Hot take: Voice Acting > Live Acting
If you ever do one for animated series, then you’ve got to include Lenore Zann for Rogue in X-men ‘97, especially her last scene with Gambit
Jackie Chan as Master Splinter in Muntant Mayhem.

but i mostly LOVE Ben Schwartz as Sonic(from the 1st "Sonic the Movie" and the 2nd), i cannot wait for the 3rd movie!!!
No 2️⃣ & 3️⃣ These have to be my faves here 🔴🐼 🖤❤️🕷️🕸️
Lupita Nyong'o ACED IT in The Wild Robot
I didn't know that Antonio Banderas had a heart attack, poor guy!
9:01 This was a panic attack, not a heart attack.
This was a good list. Marcel is adorable 🤍. I wish they took it a few years back to include my favorite Cajun firefly Ray from Princess and the frog 💚
I love voice actor 🥰
Puss had an ANXIETY ATTACK. NOT a HEART ATTACK.
How is there not one actor from Arcane? They all did an impressive performance, especially Ella Purnel as Jinx
What about TF One or THE Wild Robot
She’s also Vaggie from Hazbin Hotel
Can you do Top 10 Best Animated Movie villains of the Decade so far?
