tightening velux window screws to stop rainwater infiltrating the frame

My window was leaking for ages.I opened the metal cover and poured water inside.
The dirt was arround the screw and water gathered up and came inside the frame.Cleaned it up and all good now.

My velux's started leaking after only 23 years! In my case the wood frame had split at the screwholes so needed longer screws and lots of silicone sealant.

Did you have water entering though the screw holes?
