It's always hard to rank goalies based on stats just because, and people will disagree with me, but save% and GAA are so impacted by the team you play behind. In a way, they are a team stats. So to rank goalies sometimes you have to use the good ol' eye test. Personally, I would put Price over Lundqvist but only by a hair. These two goalies were literally making the opponents nervous. If your team was in a bad spot and you needed a win to keep you the playoff race and you had to face either one of them, you were gonna have a bad time.
Very good list, very good picks, very good goalies. Would have loved to see Rask get that cup in '19 (but then I'm biased as a Bruins fan and fellow tender).
Prime Ben Bishop was a top 2 goalie for at least a few years, I honestly would not have put Vasy over him until he won his cups. Bishop really controlled the defensive zone with his leadership, communication, and puck playing ability. Not to mention he was nearly unbeatable with his size.
I considered it honestly, but the fact that Vasy won the cup and put up similar numbers really is what pushed him ahead of Bishop, both are great options though
You can have a hundred lists debating all of the best goalies in NHL history... But the greatest one of all time was Dominik Hasek... And that is a fact
as a rangers fan, i hate how Hank was just too good for the team, and that he will never get the chance to lift the cup, so im hoping that the goalie following in his footsteps, igor shesterkin will.
Someone put fleury at #1 🤣🤣🤣🤣 no offense to anyone but fleury isn’t even close to top 5 goalies all time. Dude is the most overrated goalie I’ve ever seen in my life. Dude got carried by amazing talent in Pittsburg and he wasn’t even that good of a goalie. He was good but not elite. I don’t see how anyone genuinely thinks he’s that good 😂

Price is the best goalie who did not have a cup capable team behind him, sadly if not in Montreal he would have won a lot of cups

Lunquist couldnt stop a beach ball after they changed the goalie pad regulations as I recall... Price is by far the better goalie.
As I recall every goalie took a hit adjusting to the new regulations. I still believe he was over price.
