My iPhone 15 pro Max has just arrived coming from 12 pro max canal ready see it’s much smoother when scrolling, looking forward to trying the camera comparisons 😎
Great video. You should definitely try changing the profile from Apple ProRaw to Adobe in Lightroom - the "HDR" effect will disappear and the photo looks more like it's from a pro camera.
I'm thinking to keep my iphone 13 for as long as updates are rolled out and instead invest in a mirrorless. Thank you for the review, you earn a sub. Most channels out there just ride the "how cool is iphone 15 pro with all these new stuff" bandwagon.
Hey, loving your videos! Could you please do a comparative with the google pixel 8 pro?
Nice video, as always..
Black Magic camera app already allows 4k 60fps log internal, using h265 instead of prores.. would love to see comparison... between protest and h265.. that's because 4k 60 internal for me is a must.. specially since the output power of i15pm is so low.. can't use an external mic and SSA without a powered hub...
Really good comparison. But still missing information. Please also do extreme low light and astrophotography review.
How do they compare with iphone 14 pro Max?
Hello sir, I'm wondering between iPhone 15 and Sony 1V. My needs are mainly photography and video recording, so I hope you can make a comparison video between the two devices or give me advice.
Best in depth camera videos always. Most underrated RUclipsr for me 👍🙏
Appreciate it 🙏🏼
pro raww!!
As someone who got the smaller 15 Pro, very disappointed the lens flares weren’t fixed more. And from what I’ve seen so far, I don’t think I’ll ever bother shooting RAW over HEIF. Not as big of a difference as I thought
Yeaj, very disapointed with the flares, os possible to fix that with filter?
More of why i'm not think to upgrade from iphone 13, i'll just squeeze it till updates last and instead go for a mirrorless
Enjoy the innovation
@@prithvim7 keep in the past
RAW on main camera is muuuuch better than HEIF
I still wonder wich format is better, HEIF Max or Pro RAW Max?
I can't decide which is actually better to choose heif or jpg pictures
Bear in mind that the 5x camera won't work when it decides it's too dark (even with Night mode). For example, I doubt this is the 5x camera here 3:00. Looks like a crop from the 1x, which explains the poor quality. WHEN it turns on, the 5x camera is quite good with Night mode on. You can take a look at GSMArena's review for more info. Not that you can do anything about it, I suppose. Unless you try forcing it through a different camera app. Also, turning OFF Night mode will let you take 24MP photos with the main camera at night.
I thought 24mp photos only active when there's enough light
I'm split between the 15 Pro Max and the 15 Pro. Upgrading from a 13 Pro, skeptical about the size but I do prioritize camera over everything. Is the bigger phone worth it?
Not for me. I prefer the size of the pro. Heck, if they made an iPhone 15 mini I would be buying that 😂
Just a quick question about the main camera HEIF files, Is it true that the lower you set the megapixels the better it is for lowlight photography due to compressing that 48MP to 12?
Yes
Lower megapixel (forced on night mode) allow you:
- to take a pixel binning photo (more light, less noise), 12 megapixel
- it takes several shots for HDR look
- to take a high resolution photo for detail that will be implanted in the 12 megapixel, giving you the most detail for a 12 megapixel
If you shoot 24 or 48 megapixel without night mode, you can't enjoy those benefits, so you end with a low dinamic, high noise photo. It's better to have a fantastic 12 megapixel photo, than a bad 48 megapixel one...
Good 45 or 48 megapixel photos are only for huge sensor and optic (DSLRs) cameras.
Lens flares and leaks would only add to my creative aspect. I know what I have and I'm not expecting perfection, I can work with aberrations, what I need is low light performance so I guess I'm going to be happy when my arrives.
Red teardrop burst lens flares aren't so great though
@@RennieAsh Thanks, yes I think that would distract from the composition. I’ll need to test it thoroughly.
I notice the PRO Max files cant make use of AI denoise in lightroom, is this something that will come do you think?
The love that iphones get from North Americans is amazing. No wonder its so famous. I have seen people make 5 vidoes on iPhones so far and its not different from the 12, 13 ,14. You dont see this same love for s23 ultra or xperia IV V even though they have more to offer. But i also understand people go where the views are.
Well, that’s because Android really kinda sucks… yeah they have some features that iPhones don’t but the overall experience just isn’t on par with an iPhone. This isn’t something new, it’s been this way since the beginning.
The downside is that Apple seems to lock things that I'd like to do with my device @@robhughes8516
For browsing, Android is better than iOS. Same with customizations.
Used to be on par with cydia tweaks before.
I see that RAW makes very little sense on photos, HEIF files have little compression and all the goodies. On video it's another thing though
Dedicated 5x comparison plz
Two questions 1. Is it possible to edit pro raw photos on iPhone or do you actually need a PC/laptop? 2. Does Instagram allow high file size pro raw images?
Yeah you can edit the iPhone raw files on the phone. Lightroom mobile or even just Apples built in editor. Instagram will compress the high mp image but you can still upload it.
@@LeeZavitz Please do a video about RAW as the last one with pixel 8 iph15 and s23? Video was 👏
8:08 different settings on those images which may explain some of the differences
When I take images with HEIF MAX in low light scenarios at high ISOs I get some pretty bad hot pixels (white spots). Anyone else with the same issue or willing to test to see? Hoping its not a defect in my 15 pro. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)
Wow those RAWs look amazing.
Yeah like I said last year. It actually looks better to shoot raw and edit them vs just letting night mode do its thing on heif
which mode is the best for night photo
The key to low light photography is a tripod to get 10sec or longer night mode
If you are doing that type of photography like Astro or landscapes. But most ppl aren’t walking around with a tripod unless you are intentionally going out to shoot
@@LeeZavitztrue but u were shooting buildings. Even a small one will work
Lowlight just show us this is a smartphone after all. Personally I'd appreciate if Apple invested more in the main and ultrawide sensors, like 1" sensor for the main camera, instead of that 5X zoom tech... or even fixing those super annoying lens flares.
yes....who would always want to zoom in for a picture right? I never really use my zoom over 10x in a year
Why dont you increase and decrease some Shadow?
Bro make a video on iphone 15 please ❤
As an iphone 12 pro user , do you think that i should
Upgrade???
Yes. Huge update
@@LeeZavitz iphone 13pro?
I sold my iP14PRO only to get more speed at USB-C, so many years I suffering that slow slow USB2 speed😂 I have so many
Thuderbolt cables to use now🎉
And I can now go to my Robot friends without cable with me and charge with their Android cables 😂So happy,
also like this lighter phone, my iP14PRO was A brick😅
I give iP15PRO 6/5 for USB-C speed🥳
Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮
night mode portraits only work on 1x
What about the video ?
I will only shoot in raw files as fully utilised 48mp lens and editing is much easier these days
do a video low light test... nobody did yet..
Probably because to make it look good you can’t have street lights or any kind of lightbulb facing the phone. The light orbs and reflections are going to ruin your footage
Do you think some sort of lens hood would help with the flares?
I don’t think so. Maybe with flares but not with the light orb reflections
Is there a lens flare issue With 15Pmx low light?
Yes but I call them lens orbs or reflections. It’s been an issue for a few years now on iPhone
I'll wait for s24 ultra to see what I'm upgrading to
I wonder if Samsung will do something crazy or stick to small updates in the s24u. Cuz the s23u is so dang good
@LeeZavitz honestly it won't be easy for them to blow our minds since they've done so much on s23 ultra
Likely the same sensors, but supposed to have a better lens for less flare - though it still has a lot in city low light.
The flares are horrendous. I see no change. Maybe with sun flares but Not lights in the city at night
Why does my phone sometimes take less megapixel photos?mine went as low as 1mp it’s the 15 pro it drives me nuts
It shouldn’t ever take a photo less than 12mp unless you crop it
@@LeeZavitz I noticed outside it has no issues and that issue I was having was mainly the front camera for some reason inside
Need camera comparison with galaxy s23 ultra 😁😍
Other RUclipsrs have, most concluded iPhone 15 pro max is better. But it’s not a big difference. I wonder what will Samsung do with the S24 ultra, since Samsung has the hardware but lacks the software for their cameras.
@@thecooldude4564 yep, i totally agree with you
Night photography- wait til Pixel 8 pro drops😂😅🎉

iphone 15 has bigger sensor than 15 pro right?
I don't think so. iPhone 15 has about a 1/1.5 sensor. The iPhone 15 Pro is about 1/1.3 sensor. The 15 Pro sensor never increased in size from 14 Pro. But the iPhone 15 sensor increased in size from the iPhone 14, which had a 1/1.7 sensor.
3:19 all about 15 pro max 5x zoom in a sec

8:10 You should've edited the dng pic to see if you can beat the heif file. Were you rushing to get the video done
What's this heif?
@@waitandhope standard iPhone picture/video format
High Efficiency Image Format or something like that. Basically allows good compression of images while retaining quality.
A little like h.265 for video @@waitandhope
No other phone has lens flare like iphones at this level.
Bizarre
It has been so bad ever since iPhone 12
They're okay I guess... nothing crazy but it's expected with a smartphone camera.
Okay??! I’ve never seen a smartphone do this before. It’s freaking crazy how much Apple has improved their cameras this year. It’s a massive difference
Oh go watch Shayne Mostyne’s video where he shoot’s astrophotography on the new iPhone 15 Pro. Look at it. He even compared it to the 14. It is WILDLY different. Apple finally reduced the sharpening and the ugly color edits that they’ve been doing the last 5 years
@@Mistygioit’s insane that one could shoot that quality of photos on something you can slide into your pocket lol.
@@Mistygio "its a massive difference" said tim cook while pulling out that same phone with 5% added features
Pocket 3 or the iPhone 15 thats the lowlight test at the moment
Pocket 3 should be better cuz the sensor is way bigger. But iPhone also doing a lot of computational stuff to combat that. I have no idea what would be better. I don’t have the pocket 3 and probs won’t buy one. iPhone makes more sense to have since it’ll always be on me
@@LeeZavitz good point Lee, Im a pixel guy so was going to upgrade to the Pixel 8, but now Ive seen some lowlight comparison videos with the 15 and the Pocket 3, the Pocket 3 does look better in lowlight and the stabalastion is better as well (lowlight). But if you have a 15 like you said why buy the 3.
There is no phone that I’m aware of that takes worse low light photos than iPhone 15 Pro Max, particularly indoors. I like going to museums and art galleries a lot, I don’t expect the pics to professional, but at least, usable. They are not! I have worked with the settings, have watched dozens of tutorials, nothing helps. I’ve given up trying and take a $199 camera with me to get half decent pics at events, galleries and parties etc. It’s really disappointing as the iPhone takes fabulous pics outside in natural light.
that lens flare looks so bad and would look cheap instead of a premium device and maybe you'll be forced to pay a 3rd party add on for the lenses provided the case will support it.
Yeah the flares are horrible. 😢 disappointing.
if you wanna take photo's keep your old phone and buy a real camera :P
iPhone lens flares are terrible!
Oh yeah. They have needed to solve this issue since iPhone 12 or 11. It really ruins the footage.
@@LeeZavitz that’s what’s stopping me from getting one. I will try osmo pocket 3.
