When Gene is pretending to be Bob and acts supportive to his sisters it's so nice cus like, shows how supportive of a parent and role model Bob has been to the kids.
Homer hasn't quite returned to his old self but he is better than he had been for a while. Both Abe Simpson and Big Bob have never been ideal parents either, but Big Bob has a great relationship with his grandkids and his rough relationship with Bob is implied to be down to being a single parent for much of Bob's life. Grandpa Simpson, whilst generally someone the family try to avoid, has been seen to be something of a hero to his grandson on occasion, and though he was often a lousy father, he too had to raise a child alone and sold his house so Homer could afford one.
@@danielwilson8604That’s not what’s happening though. The joke is that they’re insecure in the moment and they read whatever emotion they want into her at any given moment
@@paulmills1165 it is kinda sad but i think it’s a very beautiful thought that even though not everyone will like you, the ones that matter will always love you ❤️
One of the best things about this show is that they all genuinely love each other. Bob and Linda are in a happy and comfortable marriage. They don't get into big divorce worthy fights and make you wonder why the hell are they still together if they're so miserable. The kids are friends with each other they play and go on adventures with each other. There's no constant rivalry and spite, they just act like kids. They just act like a happy, comfortable family. I really love the wholesomeness of this family.
It's so hard for shows to make conflict that doesn't revolve around "I hate my family" nowadays especially adult cartoons so this show is so refreshing and wholesome
It's refreshing to see an animated family that loves each other. I always compare them to the Simpsons. Example, when Bart does something bad, he goes to huge lenghts to hide it from his parents; while when the Belcher kids screw it up, the first thing they do is go to their parents to ask for forgiveness and solve it together. Love the show
"We're Belchers from the womb to the tomb" I think perfectly explains their relationship. They sometimes give each other a hard time or disagree but you don't ever mess with one of them because once you mess with one of them, you mess with all three of them
My favorite part of this show (aside from being funny, of course) is it's completely earnest "be yourself" message. There's not a single stock character in the show: everyone feels like they're based on someone I've actually met, with their own weird idiosyncrasies, and while it's hilarious to watch, it's also never made fun of. Everyone is unique, and it's completely normal. Ever notice how most of the antagonists are characters who try to make the other character feel insecure about themselves, like Jimmy Pesto or Tammy? and even then it's implied that, like most bullies, it's just them projecting their own insecurities onto others.
I remember the Ring episode where they lost the expensive ring he bought to Linda. Damn, that was the first time I saw Bob being that mad with his children. "Fear the anger of a patient man"
Reminds me of the few times Tina stands up to Louise, like in the episode "A touch of evaluations". Makes me wonder if Tina is actually aware of Louise taking advantage of her but just humours her when things only affect them. I could see myself do similar things for younger siblings.
@@yggdrasil2 One of my favourite moments like that is in "The Cook, the Steve, the Gayle, & Her Lover" where Tina just gives Louise a look and without actually saying anything, she intimidates Louise into admitting she was wrong.
It is very wholesome because Bob and Linda are both parents that parent and are friends to their kids. You don't see that with Family Guy or The Simpsons. And the kids tease each other but would 100% go to bat for each other. Just like regular families I grew up with in the 80s and 90s. Today families are a bit different, kids are rarely as responsible as these kids or respectful to those around them.

Some of my favorite sibiling moments revovle around Louise and Tina being there for Gene. Like when Louise and Tina helped Gene break back into his friend's house in the Sleepy Gene episode. Gene knew his sisters would help him, and they did without question or judgment. Exact same thing when Gene lost his confidence playing his keyboard in the episode where they formed the band. Additionally, when Louise and Tina sat quietly on the rocks and listened to Gene talk about the blob and everyone hating it like his music. Even in episodes when Gene has to deal with Courtney, they're right there for him. Tina and Louise are such supportive sisters, and Gene counts on them and loves them so much.
Nice to see siblings who are not only a team but also the best of friends. Sibling teams tend to just begrudgingly work together with the youngest being forgotten. Here the youngest is the leader and they all get along well with each other regardless if there's a scheme to be made.
I love the unit the Belcher kids are... they might tease and mock and plot against each other, but they always choose one another by default. Spending their free time together, naturally going with the bit or just rolling with one another's shenanigans, supporting each other just by being one anothers backup and going for the ride. They seem like natural friends in addition to being siblings, I just love them so much. "We're Belchers, from the womb to the tomb!"
They have the best sibling moments ever, yes they do argue and often complete with each other, but at least they sticking together no matter what and there for each other
