Thanks DG (like those initials, lol)! It's bitter sweet to see Khoda when I'm using old footage... Can't say I didn't shed a few tears while making this video! He was the best doggie!!
Thanks Carol, much appreciated! It was fun for me to see all that old footage as well. Sometimes I need that reminder that it's about the journey, not just the destination... (although it would be nice to journey into living in the house soon, lol)!
@ShabinLife - Off Grid Living your getting there. Your doing it right first time not moving in and working round yourselves and making mistakes because your in a hurry. You can only do what you can. And I think you guys rock! Any time you feel sluggish put this video on and remember where it started. You really have come along way.
We really hope so... It's gonna be a big push to get the garden area finished, beds built (lumber is here), filled, planted out, ect..., but we're hopeful. 5b last frost is around May 15th so we're not necessarily late. If we can't plant out for spring/summer we'll push for a fall crop if need be. I have a feeling we'll finish up in time for some planting... Fingers crossed!
There are a handful of reasons, but mostly (with the excavator) ease of use, maneuverability & especially having the small dozer blade for cutting & grading. The excavator is just awesome for driving with stumps, dirt, boulders, ect... If I had used the backhoe, I'd be having to raise and lower the stabilizers every time I moved and driving with large items in the backhoe is really tough (sometimes, not even an option). It certainly would have been possible, just a much longer and more tedious process for sure. I'm learning (sometimes the hard way, lol) to use the right machine for the job. Lucky, a friend here was kind enough to let me use his while he wasn't using it... made all the difference in the world!
So cool to catch a Khoda sighting in your latest video! I'm amazed at all that you guys have accomplished. Love following ShabinLife!

Wow you guys have come so far. Well done 🎉

Will you be able to plant in that garden this year or is that just not possible? I would think you would have started to seed already?

Why didn't you use your backhoe?
