- How to travel and what to expect from Sacramento to San Diego airports in California taking Southwest Airlines and highlighting Budget/Avis Fast Track and alternative transportation. Southwest is awesome!
NOTE!!! As of August 2022 - the 3 Palm Trees still exist by Zone F. For alternative transportation, walk across the street near Gate 1-10 Exit Doors, check for drop off/pick up, transportation area. Different signs for various modes of transport. PLAN AHEAD.
It was effective June 5, 2022 regarding San Diego Airport Terminal 1, major deconstruction ensued at the parking lot, skybridge and has affected incoming road traffic due to major construction of a new Terminal 1 thru Year 2024. Allow time for dropoff & pickup, 2 hours still seems sufficient.

Thank you!! I’m flying out tomorrow from smf to San Diego. Airports always intimidate me, but this helped me!!
Thank you for this, I have a trip coming up and this video has helped calm my nerves a bit. Again thank you!
Glad it helped! Wishing you tge best on your travels!
Glad it helped & wishing you the best!
Thank you so much for this video I was nervous my first time flying and by myself so this was super helpful thank you!!
I appreciate your comment and you're so very welcome. Sacramento Airport is newer and very easy; they've even added more signage which I noticed in Dec 2023. Currently in 2024, San Diego airport is more compact even as Terminal 1 is undergoing a major construction project. However, their signage works just as well and changes as needed. The completion of SAN Terminal 1 is expected in Summer of 2025 which is exciting.
Thanks for the videos, I like how it was straight to the point 😅
@@jackiep4577 I really appreciate your feedback.
Loved your clip…very informative, thankyou
Thank you! Keep in mind on SD Airport - Terminal 1, effective 6/5/22 are major construction project. ;)
Thank you! I appreciate your comments! See my update above.
I’m glad I found this. I’m almost 31, never flown. And flying with a baby tomorrow from smf to San Diego as well. So this calmed my nerves. Airports seen so foreign to me obviously. So thank you!
You're very welcome! Don't hesitate to ask airport staff or other people for assistance. We've all been 1st time flyers at some point. Enjoy!
Such a helpful video. Thank you.
Your note is very much appreciated. Please see my Update in description.
I love traveling out of Sacramento Airport. The Urban Crave Express is where I get breakfast at before my flight.
I need to try out that restaurant & thank u!
@@lorrainescreativespace6174 You're Welcome.
great video
Thank you Steve! Please see my August 2022 Update in description.
Good work 👏
Great Job! My friend says she loves you because shes scared to fly!
Tell her take that step & she'll become a regular traveler! It's enriching!
PLAN AHEAD! See August Update in description due to major construction improvements going on at San Diego Int'l Airport. Flights are still happening & we've taken a few this summer with no problems.
Thanks for sharing this video, Lorraine! My parents don't speak English, they are pretty old and will be visiting from Asia, do you think it would be easy for them to find the gate to the train?
You're welcome. Not sure if I understand you correctly, do you mean they will be flying into Sacramento? If so, the Tram is easy to locate and signage is well displayed. Lots of people travel internationally, tell them to ask any of the Airport staff if they feel uncertain.
@@lorrainescreativespace6174 thanks for your reply. Yes, they’ll be traveling from Sacramento to San Diego with Southwest. I won’t be there so I hope they can find the gate/tram easily. Your video is very useful and I showed it to them. I hope they won’t get lost. Thanks again.
@@rikal2027 The nice thing is San Diego is still a much smaller airport for now. Major construction continues for a larger one. Signage is everywhere with the current changes going on. Ck out the free San Diego Flyer shuttle to Old Town San Diego, then can transfer to trains there, look up sdmts.com for further info. Taxi & alternative transportation is also an option.
@@lorrainescreativespace6174 thanks, Lorraine! I’ll check it out. :)
