Wow that's was incredible interview with Viola Davis and husband Julius they both made good point on marriage. But one thing found out about marriage because I'm divorce woman the person that's you are married to must be committed as you do that's only how it going work and then lot people are not heal and whole once enter in to marriage. Most of all you must be equally yoked with each other for marriage to really work. Because God said what's he joined together let's no man separate God knows exactly who best suitable for you. I really appreciate this advice from queen V and her king but nop, i don't believe in this totally absolute commitment like this. Life changes, people change or should i say people's needs change,relationship dynamics change so please people walk away with love if a marriage is done.

Not "almost" you DO die to self. Ie stop putting self 1st and enter into servitude. Another reason why you need God in your marriage, cause it should be #1 God, #2 Spouse #3 kids #4 others. Your ultimate responsibility is to God then to your spouse and the covenant you entered into is with God, uour spouse and yourself. You vow infront of God. So if you break that with your spouse youre breaking it with God too.

I don't see the purpose of doing all this just to stay with a person. People change and it's possible to reach a point where you no longer connect. Just move on. I'm not for that stay in it anyway like a gun is to your head. That's why so many people live unhappy and in denial...trying to revive a dead relationship while both people are on life support. Smh
And until you understand that life isn't about you, hey marriage just isn't for you and others that don't realize that. You shouldn't think that you're not going to change either, but that's what marriage is, growing together and adjusting to each other's changes. And...when you meet someone and that thought of marriage being a hostage situation doesn't exist for you, then you've found a person that you better marry fast!

Of course people change, but marriages change too. I've been married for almost 22 years, but it's not the same marriage it was 20 years or even 10 or 5 years ago. No one is saying stay in a dead situation, but marriages normally die when they're not being tended to and nurtured. ANYTHING worth having takes work, dedication, and commitment. That's not just true for marriage. But the reward is soooo great! As I give of myself to my husband, he gives of himself to me - so it's a win-win. Every day, we choose marriage and each other. We're both still here because we WANT to be!
But that's why some are forever frustrated chasing potential.. 😕
