Listening to most because he said they would have preferred with some development that would come later, that the car was bad as last year as they had missed their development goals. This is why they still can't see Mclaren between the best teams. I mean in Saudi, Oscar was keeping pace with Charles and would have been much closer if not for being stuck behind Lewis. In Australia, lando was faster than leclerc if not for the strategy.

@@lookwotisaid5091Leclerc retired from an easy podium position in Bahrain, retired from an unlucky racing incident in Australia, and overall has been fucked over by Ferrari's incompetance more than Carlos has.
Carlos' penalty in Las Vegas was unlucky but his penalty in Australia was deserved, regardless of the red flag he was the only person to blame for Alonso being spun around.
Charles beat Carlos in h2b 14-8 last year, that is far from "close". And when you consider that Leclerc had engine issues in Spanish qualy (a track is very strong at) and had a mechanical failure in Bahrain P3 along with Ferrari fucking him over at Monaco, his car failed ON THE FORMATION LAP in Brazil (from P2), and had damage from Checo punting into him at the start of Mexico, you realise Charles' has lost A LOT more points just last year, than Carlos has in the last 18 months. Hell, Charles this year has been just as bad, a severe brake issue cost him P3 in Bahrain this year, was quicker but unable to use it in Aus, and got sent out to complete his Q3 lap when the tracks conditions decreased on the final runs. Carlos' second run was completed in the same window Charles' only Q3 run, and Charles set a 1:28.786, Carlos set a 1:28.810. So its safe to assume Charles was at the very least equal with Carlos should they have both set their banker times together. But, if you include the time loss of not having a banker, Charles is probably quicker.

@@cecilialeitet2794 Bro what do you mean Carlos has been shafted 💀 Bcs of Ferrari's shitboxes Leclerc (who is easily capable of a world title) has the worst pole-win ratio in F1. You must be braindead to think Carlos has been shafted and not Charles. Ferrari literally threw Charles title down the drain when he was probably the best driver on the grid in the first half of 2022. They also shafted him last year with engine failures and pitstop fuckups along with the many strategy blunders.
Leclerc deserves that seat, in his time at Ferrari he has consistently been the closest to Red Bull alongside Lando at McLaren. Carlos meanwhile, got his ass handed to him in 2022, got his ass handed to him again in 2023 despite winning a race, and is finally giving Leclerc an actual challenge. Bare in mind that most TP's on the grid said its remarkable Leclerc even finished the race with his brake issue in Bahrain (+ he was quicker before the issue), he was WAY ahead of anyone in Jeddah compared to where they both were in Bahrain, was quicker in Aus on the final two stints but was told to stay behind and then got bested today even tho its quite clear conditions were considerably better early on in Q3 than late on when Charles did his lap.
Carlos is having a good year, but Charles is still the better driver. 3 unlucky races for Charles and a few solid performances from Carlos dont change the fact Charles absolutely MELTED Carlos in the previous years.

If Perez (and the rest of the field) can figure out how to even come close to Max's Sector 3 time (Perez lost .15 to him there) he would start to have a shot at the pole. Max is just amazing in the final sector when he's qualifying - that's where the rest of the grid needs to look for improvement.

So Perez should keep his seat at Red Bull if he is within 3-4 tenths of Max, because its unreasonable to expect him to beat him.
But Sargeant should be tossed from his Williams seat because being within 3-4 tenths of Albon is somehow child's play.
Also Albon should totally be looked at by the very top teams, and we also want Schumacher back in the car to crash some more, and Zhou is totally fine in his seat.

    1. Willliams didn't trash a chassis
    2. Aston-Martin/Alonso were P2 after Q1
    3. Mercedes/Hamilton were faster than everybody except Red Bull after Q2.
    4. McLaren/Norris were fastest of the non-Red Bulls after Q3.

Oh come off it! Leclerc was on the front row 8 times in a row, you'll be doing well to find Carlos doing the same even just 4 times in a row.
Leclerc has had some poor luck (Bahrain) where he was quicker before brake issues impaired him. Was closer to RB than he was to anyone else in Jeddah, had a miss a qualy in Aus, excluding the first stint in Aus was actually quicker than Carlos, and had one lap in Japan. He also did that lap at the same time as everyone did their second lap, which btw, only 2 drivers actually improved their position in those second runs and apart from Alonso and Russell nobody actually improved their times from p3-p9. So there's quite clearly a pattern there, be it a change in wind or just track temp changes.

I can see the AM upgrade making the car a bit trickier to drive; which would fit Alonso pretty well and Lance less so. The faster the car, the tricker the drive, closer to the edge. Suzuka can really let drivers shine. The McLarens ended last season behind the Red Bulls, Ferrari's and Mercedes'. With Sainz Ferrari has a great driver line-up, just like Red Bull with Verstappen. Leclerc seems a bit off. I dunno if it was the Hamilton signing, Max now taking away the saturday poles or Sainz just outperforming him, but I can imagine Charles feeling like things are slipping through his fingers. He needs to built a new level of mental resilience for himself and that will not be easy by a longshot. I think he can, but he does need to do it this year. Also wonder if Hamilton has woken up and noticed the season is underway and will motivate himself to fight for fifth or sixth or so.
