Love how neutral you are Wykie. Or actually how you quite bravely say you believe Dave is the right man even when many are angry with him. Your content doesn’t get the credit it deserves. Both you and Jason CF Media. Engaging, relaxed, informative but never outrageous or crude. I actually don’t mind Sevan - plenty of stuff on there I don’t agree with, but since I was young I realised I couldn’t hide away from all that made me uncomfortable in life. Not should I. There’s good and bad in all. If I switched off from Sevan, I would miss out on a LOT of good. People just need to be less reactionary, and less ‘butthurt’ as the Sevan crew would say. But it’s very refreshing to come over and enjoy your quality and usually non-offensive content. Happy new year for 2025!
It's extremely disappointing to see CF turn the page to 2025 and we didn't get a satisfactory conclusion to the Lazar investigation that should have been more transparent. To some degree, I understand CF being a bit tight-lipped due to the pending lawsuit (that it will lose unless there is a settlement) by the family. Regarding the automatic invite, I'll be interested to see how many chances an athlete gets. Let's say after the invite, he/she fails to qualify. Does he/she have a third chance? Third, I appreciate Dave's contribution to the sport, but something about his participation now feels shady. On another note, I appreciate you following up on my suggestion that your dog be included in your next video, 👍
Wykie, noticed you have been slacking in the outside gym department. Now, COME ON! Let's get some of the soul breaking, heart sapping, sweat inducing, breath palpitating, Rhabdo challenging CONTENT!! 😅 I'm sittin' here WAITIN'!!
Dave has a great point on the size of the games. The money clearly isnt there for the games to be as huge as people want. Especially when everytime somethin goes wrong everyone threatens to boycott. If people want the games they have to support the brand
Does anyone know what signed for the World Fitnness Project Means? Do they have contracts or earn money or something.? So they have to travel to a certain number of events?
No invites, it undermines 'the test'. Maybe a top athlete from 2024, hasnt put the work in after the 2024 seaon, why should they get a free pass? Someone could have worked in the background to esrn that spot. This is a test for the fitness, not a popularity contest. Earn your spot. Period.
I do think it allows someone who has been injured to jump into the process if they have proven themselves in the past. Why should being injured in January ruin a professional athletes entire season?
@rhappycamper213 Many athletes have been injured and therefore have missed out on the games. That's life. You can't give everyone a free pass. Therefore, you should give no one a free pass. Invites should not be allowed.
@rhappycamper213 also, proven in the past doesn't always mean they are at the same standard. Jason Khalipa couldn't hang with the top athletes now, he's a previous winner and multiple games athlete. We should test those who are fit (and by that, also injury free) at this point in time. And everyone must earn there spot. Invites are cool for Rogue, and any comp not involved in a spot for the games though.
I kinda like it. If we're being totally purest about it, I don't think that you'd be able to add another test to qualify athletes anyway. That said, my opinion on both changes is that it'll get a deeper field to the Pro and make for a WAY more entertaining event!

So how does it look like for people who are not so much into the sport? I think its absolutely chaotic and confusing for them. They should try to attract more „fans“ but this is the wrong way. The athletes can do multiple events even if they have already qualified. Colton has said he’s looking at Torian as one he wants to do also a few European athletes have mentioned having it as a comp they want to travel to so you Aussies & Kiwi athletes might be in trouble for qualifying more back to having only Tia for you 😂 And Europe makes financial sense for the Games due to how easy and cheap travel is in Europe and it’s easy to get there from other parts of the world unlike Australia.

Dave believing he ‘owns’ the Games is the crux of the problem that culminated in the death of Lazar. His arrogance and inability to scale the events to align with the safety budget led to tragedy. Castro apologists always try to give him cover with the ‘he didn’t have the budget to hire the appropriate number of safety personnel/lifeguards’. If that’s the case, he should have altered the swim event or scrapped it. First, this is just my perception and nothing else. This interview with Sevan was forced on him. David will only keep the control of the games, as long as he plays along with the board of directors that owns Crossfit. He has control if he does what he is told.
