    • @toddwright662
      @toddwright662 4 месяца назад

      In our association, abuse of the referee is taken very seriously; by a coach even more so. God help you if you abuse a teenage ref (that you know by definition has limited experience and is likely to make more errors); this generally results in a permanent ban. I say generally as if I'm aware of it happening in the 8 years I've coached, but at the coaches' meeting every preseason, the association states in no uncertain terms that a permanent ban is the result of this behavior.

    1. This is a kids game, not the World Cup final. This is where they are having fun and getting a workout.
    2. If by some chance there is a referee that is making bad calls, as long as it’s consistent in both ends of the teams then it’s just a coin flip for the decisions, and a review of the arbiter post-match so he can learn from those mistakes.
    3. We are human, people make mistakes. If you think you can do a better job, put on the uniform. Otherwise you’re just a spectator with zero say in what goes on the match regarding rules

    my older brother was a soccer referee at 14, that was his first job. so many parents would argue with him but he was little and was scared. when he got older he spoke back and took control of situations where coaches were almost gonna fight each other. mind you my brother has played soccer his entire life so he knew what he was doing. he also took a class to make sure he was great. when i turn 14, i’m gonna have to do the same but mind you, i have a little bit of an attitude so with my attitude i’d probably scare the parents and get them to shut up before i cancel the game. mind you, you can do that. i’ve learned so much from my brother and i can’t wait to work. hopefully parents now a days are no longer vicious animals

    I own my own club, indoor facility and leagues - in 8 years I have reffed nearly 7000 games, and am ruthlessly strict with parents. I do not use cards.. minor fouls are incidentals (free kick), anything malicious/dangerous is a strike. After 1 strike, the next foul is an automatic goal for the other team and a free kick..
    In this span there has not been 1 injury (due to a foul).
    Ive only had to permanently ban 4 families, and 1 entire team during a tourney.
    Does it work? There is now a 9 month waiting list (35 pre-paid families) for each and every program from u5 to Mens and womens leagues being held in escrow..
    I decided to do it myself.. and now the national program is coming by.. they are actually considering what I am doing..

You are never supposed to give a red card to a spectator even if they did deserve it.
