Did this a couple years ago on some brown headlights. Still looks great after 2 years in the sun all day. Did not use adhesion promoter.

Hi Chris, the PRD510 looks a nice and a good quality gun it certainly atomised the clear really well on those headlights, you should have added a drop of basecoat from the car colour in the clear mate just to colour code the headlamps you would be one cool dude then😎😅😉
I've seen some people say you shouldn't use adhesion promoter on headlamps then some say you should, there seems to be a lot of conflicting info out there on which is best🤔I trust what you do brother so if I do any headlamps I will use it🙏👍John UK

I'm definitely doing this on several of my vehicles. I've already bought replacement units for two of them, but this will give me backups to keep in my shop.

I haven't done a headlight, but last year I did my 3rd brake light just like you did here and it also turned out great and still looks perfect.

Yes, I did the "sand and polish" method for years, only to find out these plastic headlights come from the manufacturer with a clear UV protective coating that eventually fails, causing the yellowing.
Now I sand, then spray automotive clear coat everytime.
    Thanks for the video 👍

IMO the only way to get them to last.. sand with 600 adhesion promoter, and clear. everything else becomes a maintenance.

Hey Chris I’m having a fisheye/unknown contamination issue on base and clear. I shot you a very long in depth email regarding it. I’m not sure if it is from the air compressor, the air in the shop, or dirt or anything else. Any help or tips would be very appreciated. Thanks

I am pro 2k clear headlights. What do you think of those who say 2k is bad, polishing and ceramic/cerakote, ppf is the best?

    • @GarageNoise

Anything other than clear coat is just maintenance. It doesn't last long maybe a few months
