Did this a couple years ago on some brown headlights. Still looks great after 2 years in the sun all day. Did not use adhesion promoter.
😉
Hi Chris, the PRD510 looks a nice and a good quality gun it certainly atomised the clear really well on those headlights, you should have added a drop of basecoat from the car colour in the clear mate just to colour code the headlamps you would be one cool dude then😎😅😉
I've seen some people say you shouldn't use adhesion promoter on headlamps then some say you should, there seems to be a lot of conflicting info out there on which is best🤔I trust what you do brother so if I do any headlamps I will use it🙏👍John UK
I don't adhesion promoter would hurt anything but time will tell. I done it both ways
I'm definitely doing this on several of my vehicles. I've already bought replacement units for two of them, but this will give me backups to keep in my shop.
Right on
Thank you for everything you teach us, I am learning a lot. Greetings from Santa Clarita, California.
Thanks for watching! That's awesome!
I haven't done a headlight, but last year I did my 3rd brake light just like you did here and it also turned out great and still looks perfect.
👍
Great episode ❤
Thank's brother!
Good video I’ve restored my headlights lots of times and always looking for a better way and something that last long time thanks
👍
Nice job
Thanks!
Nice! Them headlights look great. Seems like a good gun or set of guns that is.
Thanks man ,they really are great gun. Ibalmost passed on reviewing them, that would've been a mistake.
Yes, I did the "sand and polish" method for years, only to find out these plastic headlights come from the manufacturer with a clear UV protective coating that eventually fails, causing the yellowing.
Now I sand, then spray automotive clear coat everytime.
Thanks for the video 👍
Absolutely!
Eastwoods 2k clear is nice for lights and emblems etc.... just easy to discard... but i do like spraying way better... cans mske my hands cramp
👍
Nice job. I was wondering what sander and extractor setup that is?
Mirka Deros
IMO the only way to get them to last.. sand with 600 adhesion promoter, and clear. everything else becomes a maintenance.
Exactly!
Hi. Thanks a lot for the video. Can you tell the name of the produt use in spray? Regards.
Finish 1 fc710 clearcoat
Great video!
How many ounces did it take?
About 4-5
@@GarageNoise Thank you again, Chris!
Hi Chris, I might have to try this. What clear coat did you use on the headlights? Thanks.
Finish 1 fc710 you could also use spraymax aerosol.

Spray max
amzn.to/3KPsdXb
So would the InoKraft D1 be better for larger panels?
Yes it would
Spray Max makes a clear coat specifically for headlights
👍
Hey Chris I’m having a fisheye/unknown contamination issue on base and clear. I shot you a very long in depth email regarding it. I’m not sure if it is from the air compressor, the air in the shop, or dirt or anything else. Any help or tips would be very appreciated. Thanks
👍
Nice! What speed reducer?
Slow
you mean hardener? you dont usually reduce clear.
@@toycoma98 lol…it was a long day yesterday and I was brain dead. Yes, activator or hardener…that’s it.
I am pro 2k clear headlights. What do you think of those who say 2k is bad, polishing and ceramic/cerakote, ppf is the best?
Anything other than clear coat is just maintenance. It doesn't last long maybe a few months
What clear did you use?
Finsh 1 fc710
I’ve tried the clear coat upol but ended up getting cracks do you know why on the head lights
Were the cracks in the clear coat you sprayed, or were they in the plastic on the inside of the headlight?
@@GarageNoise on the outside I was using upol clear coat
What brand clear are you using?
Finish 1 fc710
@@GarageNoise looks great man!
