They probably have Lewis engine set just a bit higher... the whole weekend bottas was ahead. Turn 14 analysis, bottas took the corner better was earlier on the gas yet Lewis still managed to get purple in sector 3. Doesn’t add up. They give Lewis a better set engine mode to run.

Muztafeh Robleh if bottas is in front of Lewis on track like in Silverstone and Lewis cant overtake him the team will put bottas on bad strategy. In spa bottas wasn’t allowed to use anything to fight Lewis. Even though bottas is the only one in a car that can fight Lewis. After all that you don’t think they put Lewis engine just a little higher? Lewis is literally not racing anyone because bottas not allowed. Mercedes deserves to get in the records. At least let them fight eachother. It’s a new track there was no data. Notice how last week it was bottas turn to choose who drives where in quali and Mercedes always choose to drive in front clean air cause all the data they collected over the years is pretty much up front in clean air. The car is built around clean air. Nico Rosberg has shared his thoughts on this several times: Michael Schumacher was a master on those tricks. Nico improved his approach after those first years alongside MS, and by doing so, he could push LH inside and outside the track.
Bottas is an average driver at best. Max is far better than Lewis. If Max was in the other Mercedes Lewis would be getting wrecked every single week. And that's why Mercedes keeps Bottas - they don't want infighting at their team - especially given how much of a precious princess Hamilton is - and so they make sure their second driver is not up to scratch!

He is not on the level of Lewis yet but things can change in F1 quickly. Max is good but saying that he would be able to beat Lewis or anyone else with ease is exageration. Lewis has always been quick and is getting better. Max is not a magician to magically make a car faster. Danny Ric could keep up with him just fine and not to mention Carlos Sainz was almost equally as quick as Max

Bottas is so close to Hamilton in one lap pace now but he always manages to make a mistake or gets very unlucky in the race and manages to lose to hamilton
