I couldn't fight the tears from rolling down. It is so sad that she is gone for being her self nothing more and no one should repress who they are out of fear. But she will always live in the hearts of more then just the ppl that know her. I live in the us and her story reached me all the way in the states. She has a light on this planet not just in her home land.
I was there at Manchester when they showed the film. I travelled all the way from Wiltshire to come to that event. It's a good thing the film is reaching schools and will encourage the kids to accept people who choose to dress differently. R.I.P. Sophie
my heart breaks for the loss of this girl's life..such a tragic event. It scares me that intolerance is so alive and kicking in our society,..these mindless, unprovoked attacks on good people who are simply getting on with life and exercising their right to simply be themselves, (Mum of two beautiful, kind +creative, alternative daughters, Auckland NZ)
It's a tragic story. It's good to send a message in response to the mindless violence. In New Zealand some people joke about hating 'Emos', a guy went past me once with an 'Emo Hunter" sticker across his windscreen. I thought: "What have Emos ever done to hurt anyone?"
Please consider getting someone like Neil Gaiman or Alan Moore to create a Graphic Novel biography and celelbration of her life to spread the word of her life and her legacy for all the others out there
R.I.P Sophie i never knew her but i know people who did know her a few months a go i bought a trenchcoat at a goth store and the dude who sold me it told me that sophie used to come in his shop lots of times he never knew her name but he recognised her face as one of his constant customers
Looking at some of the news clips earlier, I was deeply shocked to see excerpts of a video made by some of Sophie killers, in which they are running around brandishing sticks & rapping about killing people. A video which clearly glorifies violence. According to the news reports, this video was made by a "youth project". Has this "youth project" been held to account for their irresponsibility? They clearly have some measure of blame in this.
I'm going to wear gothic makeup all day on the anniversary of her death. It's not my still but we need to make the point that you can't hurt people because they are different.
It's amazing to see all of these wonderful people standing by this woman and doing something positive in response to this girls' senseless murder.
I almost cried again. The film was so heartbreaking, and to see this stirred up those emotions again. I'm putting this on Facebook
My heart goes out to Sophie's mum. She must be so strong to have done so much. R.I.P Sophie

RIP Sylvia and Sophie 😢
Wish more people supported the Sophie Lancaster foundation
