Local farms in PA have switched to stain from paint since staining is faster and lasts longer. We use pressure treated fencing so it sits exposed a year before staining. A new pressure treated wood fence doesn't take stain or paint.

Great video! Just bought a RTV X1140 I love it. I have noticed that mine blows a little whittish smoke at start up and disappears in a few seconds. Just curios if yours threw a little smoke at start up as well? Mine has barely 7 engine hours. Thanks for the input.

Motor oil and diesel isn’t so horrible because it is recycling and whatever preserves the wood, whether it be the product you’re advertising or the motor oil, it works out as the wood we use is pressure treated and doesn’t have much purpose to be repurposed after it’s lifespan.
There is a way to treat the part of the post that's in the ground. Drill a 1/2'' or 3/4'' hole at an angle, starting 3'' above the ground and go down around 16'' Then fill each hole with that preservative and plug each hole with a wood plug. Fences always rot right at the dirt line.
drilling a hole in a CCA treated post kinda defeats the purpose of a treated post my friend....these should last 20-30 years before rotting at the bottom...but time will tell. Cutting into the post opens it up to environmental exposure, right from the factory...which I visited...leave the posts alone....avoid cutting at all costs and treat any cut exposed area
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer, Well, I've seen fence posts that have had this done and are over 75yrs old. Even Wranglestar did it to his mailbox post. As for cutting PT wood, as long as you treat the cuts, as I said, it will not matter.
these pine posts won't last any longer by damaging them at the ground level....the pressure treatment is what helps prevent rotting....again....that might help a non treated oak post or hedge, but it will damage these treated posts my friend
