Shantanu. Can you interview some people who did not meet success with their ventures? Not necessarily failed but their ventures just could not take off inspite of all efforts and or pivot
I don't know but your series are such a learning curve. Big Shoutout to shantanu for starting this - You are my go to if i wish to learn about industries & D2C brands man - Kudos to you ❤
The takeaways are great but can you attach a pdf of the takeaway and key points of the brand journey in the description as i listen to your podcast while driving and exercising and it is not a viable option to sit with pen and paper to preview point later.
Hi Shantanu Deshpande from Shantanu Deshpande😃. Thank you for all the videos, listening to and watching them has been a fantastic learning experience. I am writing this message to seek your help. I am a Finance Consultant, and one of my clients from the FMCG sector has been attempting to register with quick commerce platforms but has encountered persistent difficulties. Given your expertise and network, we would greatly appreciate your assistance in facilitating a connection with a relevant contact in quick commerce. Your support would be immensely valuable to my client. I look forward to your positive reply here. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Also Shantanu, a kind request. Please don't pause the video for "Takeaway" section. Just gives you a bad experience, especially if you are just listening to the podcast.
Of all the icecreams that i have tasted in my life movenpick, london dairy, haagen daz, almond house 'indulge'(hyderabad based) and to some extent naturals are the best..will try this brand too
Cheating customers with high gi sweeteners replacing sugar is still only passionately cheating. You're giving a sugar equivalent to a diabetic person what sort of a conscience can the guy have and how much of it can the passion compensate is the question.
@@sagerkhattar7539what’s wrong with artificial sweeteners? They’re perfectly safe. No research paper published has found anything otherwise. I don’t get why you’re calling him a cheater
@@typicalindian1238 it's fine to use a sweetner, but the whole point of an artificial sweetner is to use a sweetner that keeps the blood glucose levels low, like erythritol which has 0 Glycemic index or even xylitol which has 7 Glycemic index compared to sugar which has about 60-70. But they use maltitol which has a glycemic index of 52. And likely the cheapest artificial sweetener. Cheaper than sugar if I'm not wrong. You just get to say that there is not added sugar and market an almost as unhealthy product. Maltitol is also the second highest in quantity in their product if you check the ingredients.
@@typicalindian1238 the sweetener they use is maltitol which is the cheapest one out there has a glycemic index of 52, which is the measure of how much the blood sugar/glucose levels increases using when consuming the sweetner. Table sugar is 60-70. When using an artificial sweetener like erythritol you get 0 Glycemic index, using xylitol you get 7 Glycemic index, using stevia you get 0 Glycemic index. Even monk fruit is 0 Glycemic index. They use the cheapest one which is almost as harmful as sugar and get to claim no added sugar. I'd loosely call that cheating.
Just curious about pricing (Mango Duet) - INR 125 seems a bit too high for the same thing which is sold by renowned brands for INR 30-40 bucks on carts.
This is guilt-free category (low calories, no sugar). Pricing will be higher than regular variants. Other brands also work around same price range in the guilt-free/sugar-free category.
@@ksthrx But why should it be that high? Artificial sweeteners which replace table sugar in these products are the same cost-wise Only reason to price them higher is the health conscious consumer will be willing to spend more
Basically Zepto dependent and time dependent. Also no exclusivity, if any big company comes up with similar or better product, going forward will be a problem. Also, Zepto needs to work for his business. Also, the established brands take almost 90% of the fridge space , mostly amul, quality walls, vadilal. It's very difficult to have similar distribution network as theirs . Ice cream in majority homes are like celebratory food mostly ordered once a week or twice a week. Also not everybody is looking for a healthy option but delicious option. Also, it's very very seasonal business.
@@Brodragon2225think again... Zepto will start their own private label icecreams in future...its vry difficult to trust these so called quick commerce apps
Nothing wrong with distribution concentration for a young company. Everything you’ve pointed out is common challenges that any brand in the space would face. You make money for beating these challenges. There’s no businesses that won’t face such problems. Also, the target audience for this product aren’t people for whom single serve ice cream is “celebratory”. It’s meant for people who can easily afford a 125 rupee mango bar on a whim
It's a high gi sugar like sweetner they use. Maltitol, look it up. It's like having icecream that's falsely branded. Imagine the diabetic folks out there thinking this is okay to have. God what a mess our food industry has come to be.
Gozero, Noto tastes so bad that too for sooo much money!! Amul is the king, YUMMO and DAIRY DAY are the brands to look out for, great taste and value for money.
Literally ordered 4 go zero icreams after this podcast. Got completely melted tubs, and Blinkit couldn’t care less, the delivery guy knew it was melted while picking it up and said he has to deliver it once itself been ordered, can’t change it. So yeah not ordering again.

Kiran says what he wants to say, regardless of what Shantanu wants to get from him. Smart guy, but something is amiss with him.
