Live to Ride, Ride to Tacos. "They" said it could not be done on a single charge, so I had to try and ride the Super73 S2 Electric Bike 20 miles one way into Downtown Denver, and try out a taco truck I've been following on Instagram. In this video, we'll eat some dang good birria tacos, check out the Confluence Park along the Platte River Biking Trail, and try to make it home on a single charge. This is a true range test of the Super73 S2 eBike and enjoying a day riding around Denver!

Agreed! I think the electric vehicle world is an interesting market for sure. I see it more as a toy vehicle market rather than utilitarian, but that’s just where I see myself utilizing it the most. Everyone’s different tho

Haha yes. It’s a little slow in the mode I was in to save battery life but, if you put it in off road mode it’s a bit faster. 🙌 such a fun little bike!

@@MrTraewilliams thank you! :) Yep, took bike trails the entire way, except downtown where I had to use the bike lanes on the main streets for a couple miles. 90% of this video was on bike trails tho!

Just curious, what was the outside temp during your ride? I am in NYC and want to do about a 32 mile ride on my S2 in 40 degree temps. Battery performance isn't as efficient in the cold. WILL I MAKE IT? LOL
Also, did you pedal at all during your ride to extend the range?
Definitely pedaled and it was probably in the 40s!
Hi! How tall are you? I already have an E-bike and my girlfriend is looking for one to ride with me. She likes the Super 73 S2 but she is only 5 feet four. Do you think she would be able to ride it comfortably? I know it says 5'1 up on the website, but I don't trust what these companies say sometimes.
Great question! I am 5’4” as well, and I’m completely flat footed. I think she’d be fine on an s2 🙌

I wasn’t sleeping in the dirt and had makeup on so, that’s probably why I look different.
That pretty cool little bike, is it fully electric so you do not have to pedal?
Yes! In certain modes/levels you can choose to use pedal assist or to only use the thumb throttle. :)

My range was down to 3 miles and the motor only worked if I kept pushing the throttle on and off. It only charges to 34 miles now....will never get to 40.
Interesting! I haven't gotten to ride another Super 73 since my two week stint with this one, so unfortunately I don't have a long term review on it. Sounds pretty typical for anything battery powered, though.

@@ridetofood as for the ebike. Pretty cool, I'd have to take a closer look at the ergonomics. Being a hill giant, I'm forced to be picky like that. The range looks good. I like the mode options.

So what range did you actually get? That was frustrating going through that whole video titled 'range test', and never actually find out the range? Lol I know you said you can possibly get 40 miles? But it would have been really nice/helpful to know the range that you actually got, minus the extra 5 miles you had left.
I know mentioned it at the very end. I filmed this a year ago, so I dont remember exactly what it was. But you can scrub to the end and find out

My wife is able to get 70 miles of range, throttle only @ 13mph avg speed on her Super73 S2. Granted she's 110 lbs.
Yeah I weigh 185. Another factor to consider is this is a company owned vehicle that's been used and abused for at least a year. The battery could not be as strong as it was when new. Hard to test that theory though since I wasn't around when it was a freshie lol

Super 73's seem like the perfect E-bike for esthetics, form but overall bad function. I've seen reviews where people talk about how bad the rear hub motors are and how they are difficult to get uphill. Now If you can be realistic perhaps these E bikes are perfect for modding. I have a lectric, I bought into the craze that so many people do which is that they are powerful cheap little E bikes but boy was I wrong. First, they are very functional overall but lack raw horsepower and they also do not go as far as claimed. I have a hard time believing people who claim that their lectric E-bike will go anywhere the claimed 35 miles at 20 MPH. Mind you lectric can also be modified but in my opinion, are not as user-friendly as a Super73 and this is where the super73 wins overall in function but I really doubt that they are that reliable straight out of the box and in fact very few E bikes are. I mean damn just look at the frames they just scream please put another off-market motor on me. I could be wrong but I doubt that whoever designed these did not intentionally make these bikes look the part but also have the ability to allow users to easily mod them which is really cool in my opinion. As long as you are safe and don't play stupid you can enjoy pushing these things a bit past what is street legal. However, et's be real though who doesn't want to ride at 28, 30 MPH on backroads that you know well? Who isn't going to want to mod these things? If moding isn't your thing get a sur ron are even an onyx but you will still pay more without the modding and in the case of a sur ron especially you may get the attention you do not want from it. Just my two cents!
