PS3 Longplay [025] Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time (part 1 of 7)

A Crack in Time is the final entry in the Future series of Ratchet & Clank and was released in 2009. As before, it is developed by Insomniac Games and is a shooter with platforming elements. It takes place just after Tools of Destruction, so Ratchet is busy trying to find Clank, who has been abducted
by the Zoni.
The usual ridiculous weapons and gadges expected in a R&C game is there, although most of the puzzle-based gadgets from ToD are unfortunately missing.
As usual, the point of the game is to have fun, so I try to use as much as possible of all the weapons I can and do all the side-missions. There is a lengthy backtracking part towards the end with cleaning up everything (and of course getting the RYNO!), but it is marked and can be skipped.
The bonus video contains the optional Vorselon-fight given when all Zoni are collected, cleanup of the gold bolts that are not available until post-game and showing the three optional Clank-puzzles also only available post-game. Finally, we take a look at the Insomniac Museum, the reward for beating Vorselon. It contains lots of background information and some cut content. -

Previously:
Mid-way into getting pulled into a strange adventure concerning the fate of his the rest of his species and why he was the last one to remain in the Solana Galaxy, Ratchet and Clank scoured planet after planet and teamed up with Talwyn Apogee and two Rickety War-Bots to find the Lombax Secret, the powerful Dimensionator, to stay ahead of the twisted Cragmite Emperor Lord Percival Tachyeon, and a fearsome armada of Space Robot Pirates lead by the infamous Scourge Romulus Slag.
Things didn't go according to plan and the Cragmites were released into the present day dimension (No thanks to the idiot efforts of Qwark). But even against these odds, Ratchet and Clank perservered and even defeated Tachyeon, ending a blood feud that started with the Cragmites being banished by the Lombaxes at the peak of the Great War....
But when everybody decides to take a breather, Clank is mystically whisked away by tiny purple electric beings called the Zoni, beings who've been secretly aiding Clank throughout the first arc. Desperate for answrers and not willing to lose Clank, Ratchet investigated Captain Darkwater and uncovered the means of tracking Clank and the Zoni down, getting coordinates to the Breegus Sector, millions of lightyears away in another galaxy. So, as our story opens, Ratchet's parted ways with Talwyn to investigate on his own, and Qwark has just foumd the perfect promotional plug for his upcoming movie.

Given ratchet can be equipped with a "millennium 12 omniwrench" I imagine that ratchet and clank crack in time story be set in the year 12,000.

i miss the good old days when Insomniac actually cared about Ratchet & Clank and wasn't driven by money like now and the results are tower defense based Ratchet & Clank games without an interesting storyline and gameplay
