    cost breakdown
    lg la120hyv3 is 1600 with tax on ecomfort.com
    100ft of 1/4inch pipe is 100$. get USA made copper, much better quality. no debris inside like stuff sold at lowes. the 3/8 pipe I hot from lowes. it literally had copper shavings inside. get enough to go from tank to your outdoor unit. flare unions and other connections as explained in first video cost like 50$. Chinese temp controller with relay like 20$. and what ever you want to use for your rack to hold the copper coil inside.

    Great proof of concept. Now if only the manufacturers would do it

      They have caught on in the US this year. Mitsubishi came out with a mono block unit this year.

    Very clever! Love your ideas. Keep on creating. You could inspire a movement of do-it-yourselfers if the whole thing was done with more basic details with drawings or animations. Huge props 👏 to you though for your imagination and creativity!

    They use that size Fujitsu out door all the way up to 18, 21,24k btu on there cheap base R410A model here IN Australia with terrible efficacy. I think the 24 has a scroll compressor and the others has rotarys because they sound different. any way there more efficient R32 models has slightly bigger outdoors. Usally R32 systems need smaller outdoors but Fujitsu are very odd.

    That’s a lot of work for a tank that’s going to rot out in a few years do to the black iron fittings and welding on a glass lined tank

      If it does rot out in a few ans everything else is working I will get a stainless steel tank welded up for me at a shop and insulate It myself with 2inch foam. Now that I understand how everything works it will be one day of work to redo the project. I'm at this not just for saving money but it is interesting for me.

    I am wondering what would happen if you disconnected the fan motor?

    Those ST-1000 china temp controllers are damn handy and cheap. I like this DIY, no additional pump to flow through a secondary heat exchanger. I'm curious how you figured out tricking the indoor monitor assembly into not faulting out. I'm not finding service manuals with any detail operation.
    I came to your channel via your Mr. Cool mini split not defrosting. Clearly they didn't do testing for your environment of humidity in the winter.

    • @ne7s29

      A secondary heat exchange that would only be getting approximately 100゚ gas flowing through it whatever comes out of the bottom of the water here so dear so there wouldn't be much coming off and what would you you do with that heated water unless you had a heated water tank that had preheated water before then entered your primary hot water tank. Also as I stated I'm using that chis that Chinese thermostat switch to disconnect the is to disconnect the wire that the indoor unit computer uses for the temperature sensor so whenever I disconnect that circuit with my temperature controller the indoor unit goes into error mode And flashes in air mode until my Chinese thermostat connects the circuit and it goes right back into the previous setting which is calling for heat. I am going to give Mr. Cool another try I purchased the large 54K unit for my father-in-law and I will be attempting and install there in a 2500 ft² house We'll see how that ends up working. I think Mr. Cole works but if the product is having an issue I would expect the technical support to provide assistance or at least try to fix it instead of saying that's normal operation.

    Do you think to make heated floors with that thing, it would be the next logical step? I wanna try to put air to water outside unit in the attic so I would increase efficiency of heating for floors in a winter and a swimming pull in a summer

    • @ne7s29
      @ne7s29  2 года назад +2

      There is absolutely no reason to put it in the attic because if your attic is warm then you have a serious issue with insulation and you will save much more money by properly insulating your attic and leaving the outdoor unit outside where it's supposed to be. This unit would work extremely well for heated floors because the temperature required for heated force is low probably 90 to 110 Fahrenheit

      @@ne7s29 heat come from the sun in the attic, even on cloudy day in a winter it gets warmer there I know that for sure , because I insulated all gaps with spray foam and put extra layer of insulation but in my case the main reason was that I am not allowed to put any condenser outside by HOA Now I want to do same thing on my second property with dual source to water heat pump with only purpose of heating. Next step would be to put solar tubes on the south side of the house with antifreeze in them and to connect tubes to my dream heat pump . I forgot for what I started to talk...My question is do you find the hotter outside temperature is the higher COP ? Thank you

    • @ne7s29
      @ne7s29  2 года назад +1

      @@andreycham4797 of course. That's how heat pumps work. The colder the temp outside the lower the cop.

      @@ne7s29 I meant hotter is around 120 and higher is there anything to prevent to transfer heat from attic this hot let' s say to a swimming pull
