You can see its painful for Jimmy up there. He just looks zapped of energy. A true warrior who kept rockin' the best he could until the very end. RIP Mr. Bain
He looks my brother before he died. I cannot believe he can do this? Guess that was his wish.
Is this Clive Edwards at the drumms, who is now 67 ?
Vinny Appice
monty lee love Dio🤘🤘🤘
You still have 2 original members of DIO🤘🤘 guys are kick ass
So both Jimmy and Vivian had cancer in this video and they are fuckin rockin the shit out of this song. My respect to both and RIP Jimmy!
janibonneil Vivian is in readmission I heard
Amen to that!
I have stage 4 cancer. I just turned 39. Ive played guitar since i was 12. Now i can barely pick it up. I lay on the couch staring out the window. Thinking and thinking. Cancer doesnt discriminate. Its evil. Took my mom last year. Yet, Dio and the Dio band always has and still does puts this "feeling" in me. Im sure you all know what i mean about how the Dio sound is so unique in the world of heavy metal. Only Dio fans would really know. Music is a magical thing. It really is. R.I.P. Ronnie, Jimmy and all those taken way to soon. We all gotta cross that rainbow bridge...someday.
+robert davis best of luck to you in the next life.
+Insect on Acid. Thank you brother. Ill admit, I'm scared about that "next life". Kinda funny, when your younger, death means nothing. Then its different when you face it. I know there's something. I do know that. Thanks again!
+robert davis Bless you brother. Praying for Peace for you and yours....
+robert davis SEnding prayers man!
+robert davis Praying for you and bless you, remember this you are a soldier, warrior and tough. God Bless You Man 👍
Dead man walking... died with his boots on like a true rocker
RIP
RIP James Bain, a metal legend. I'll never forget when I got to meet you after a Dio show, and how amiable and funny you were. Too many legends are leaving us.
Jimmy*
James Stewart Bain r.i.p🎵🎼🎶 🎸🙏👊
this is very sad to watch but at the same time its so up lifting;the man was in such a bad place but he gave it his all doing what he loved to do.have super respect for the man always have.rip jimmy bain.
Totally. I'd rather go after playing a show than in a hospital. One wonders if he had treated his cancer if it would have given him a few more years.
You are right though, you can see how hard he is trying. You can tell the tank was empty and he spent the last bit he had on this performance.
That's a trooper right there.
Now he's back in Ronnie's band again...
The boys are back in town!🤘🏻😜
They better be working on some jamns in the afterlife, I'm gonna need some better music than the garbage I'm hearing these days.
A mix of Dio and Ozzy bamds
RONNIE in vocals
JIMMY in bass
RANDY ROAHDS in guitar
RANDY CASTILLO in drums
Watching him play, he could hardly put any pressure on the picking side....he looked very weak. Apparently he didn't know he had cancer, just pneumonia....very sad. You're a legend Jimmy 🤘🏻
Agreed. He usually gallops this song and is playing very straight rhythms here. I couldn't imagine playing even that in his condition. Jimmy had one of the greatest bass tones ever on those early Dio albums, sad he's gone.
You can see he could barely stand up (very sad), he still made a hell of a job. Rock In Peace Jimmy !
Vivian Campbell still tears it up like he never left the band....I caught Jimmy's only pick he threw out in Montreal...cherished piece of metal history.
He's HAVING the heart attack up there and most likely and overnite it just gave out. Friends it's always okay to say to a brother, "Hey man, you look a little pale, or really tired today. You okay?" And sometimes, especially a man will not come to you but would answer you that "You know, my chest kind of hurts and I feel really tired." Doesn't meant they didn't and doesn't mean the brother would listen, but never stay silent.
I talked to him on the phone a few weeks before. He was sick with bronchitis and had an x-ray done. He never said a word about how bad he felt and was so excited about the new album and playing with the guys again. Had plans to meet up on the tour, then he passed. I knew then that he knew about the cancer when they did the x-ray and just kept it to himself. He was that type of guy to not want people to worry or feel sorry. He kept moving on until he couldn't. He is dearly missed to this day.
Here's to Jimmy-Rock in Peace
Ronnie was there telling Jimmy it's time to go. Now Ronnie has a bassist in heaven
Cool
Sorry, but I always find these type of statements so lame. “I guess someone needed a bass player in Heaven.”
It’s so predictable EVERY time a musician passes...
So, Ronnie is the Grim Reaper now? What a load of shit!!
Dio is with his father, the Devil. Hopefully Jimmy is with God.
@@Adept179 - HAHAHAHAAAA!!!! What a load of horseshit! The devil is every bit as real as Mickey Fucking Mouse. Aren’t you a little old to believe in fairy tales, man?
It really hurts to see one of my greatest influences as a bassist in pain, but it comforts me to know that he rocked till the very end! The bass sound in the entire holy diver album is the true bass sound! The ultimate bass sound of metal! Horns up for Jim, for Ronnie, for Jon Lord, for Bon Scott, Cliff Burton! My heros
i had the pleasure to live with jimmy in rehab in hollywood ca shortly before this.very nice guy will miss him rip bro
as a nurse I can see the pain on his face. so unfortunate. what a tremendous talent. he'll be sorely missed by all in the metal/hard rock world.
+Robert bishop That's DOPE .Not pain.
+Hans Sørensen o man ! you made me laugh ! cheers !
You can't say "Bain" and "sober" in the same sentence. A great man anyway.
Hans Sørensen
Dude, he died of cancer just a day or so after this performance, and that cancer had supposedly already spread throughout his body! He ALSO had pneumonia. His idiot doctors somehow missed the lung cancer, but diagnosed the pneumonia. Supposedly he had been clean for 1.5 years here. So I'm pretty sure it wasn't drugs that had him looking lethargic here.
@@hanssrensen4878 you sir are an ill informed asshat.
really hard to watch this video..You can see Jimmy is in pain.....R.I.P...Jimmy missed by your Fans along with Ronnie..\m/
R.I.P. - Ronnie and Jimmy 🤘
Jimmy died that night shortly after this performance. Rocked out until the very end.
Damn, I had no idea....
Are you sure? Wiki says he died in his Cabin on a def leopard cruise of some sort.
Sanitys Void
Yeah, this was the pre-cruise show on land. According to Vivian, they were booked to do 2-3 shows connected to this "Def Leppard cruise". One on land just before boarding the ship, and 1-2 more onboard.
:(
Damn...
What a fuking beast this man was... Lemmy did his last gig 2 weeks before he died, this dude did his last gig a few hours ago before he died... Level of Balls over 9999!
Rest/Rock in peace Jimmy
Hurts to watch this. You see me shooting behind jimmy onstage in video. I took the last shot of Jimmy onstage sitting behind his amps out of energy. I talked to him backstage and worried about him. Told him he needs a doctor but guess we all know that wouldn't of helped :( He gave me his guitar pick thanking me. The last I saw him alive. Thanks for sharing that.... RIP Jimmy
Thank God for you, and your photo.
RIP jimmy thank you for your contrabution to heavy metal.we love u.
Followed Dio since day one in the 80's. Rip Jimmy. Glad I've seen Ronnie and Jimmy in their prime.
Jimmy is one of my heroes. One of the best and most underrated bass players in all of heavy metal and rock. I'm so sad that he's gone. The moment I read about him passing away I cried. Now he's with Ronnie. Rock in peace Jimmy!
Died with his boots on. A real metal guy.
On his last leg he came as solid as you can get!! One of the best & my one of my influences God Bless Mr Bain!!!
Poor Jimmy was just going thru the motions at this point. Obvious he was hurting, but drove on for the music and his fans. RIP to one of rock's most under appreciated bassist. You will be missed!
HE ROCKS !!!! HE ROCKS !!!! HE ROCKS !!!!
MAKES ME CRY IT SO EPIC TO SEE VINNIE AND CO. DO THIS OMG...
It's really sad to see how sick Jimmy was. Reminds me how sick Lemmy was on his last couple of performances and had to quit on one of his last shows. RIP and trade bass licks with Lemmy up there would ya!!!
Jimmy, you are sorely missed
You rock Jimmy . Thank you so very much.
No matter what, us fans of metal and great music, are the most close knit family of any genre of music. Whether its an artist we admire or us as fans, There is a sense of family and unity. We are strong. Im sure all of you have experienced this. Its what keeps us going. Its what shapes us and makes us. And it will continue after im gone, and after we're all gone. Its just our responsibility to pass it down. Thank you all again for your words, thoughts and prayers. \m/
I just read your post while watching this video, i hope you are doing well, i know we don't know each other but your post touched me and i just want to say that i hope you're beating this damned horrible demon that cancer is, anyway, hope you are better.
long live rock and roll long live you were all brothers in rock
@@commanderwilliamtriker7449 I hope you are still here. It's been awhile. I was very very sick. I was making final plans. My Mom had just passed back then from ovarian cancer, now my dad was about to lose his son. I never thought of myself. I didn't give up because I couldn't put my dad through that. Dying was very real but I couldn't let it be an option. I'm now cancer free. I still have some health problems due to the amount of radiation treatments I received but I pretty much came back from a death sentence. I thank you for asking about me. I apologize I didn't respond sooner. I try to keep up with comments and replies but somehow u slipped by me! I'm here and waiting for that new Dio documentary to come out. It looks SO good.
Jimmy Bain, you rock!!!!! R.I.P.
Good see jimmy bain ...but is last time for him ... heaven with dio thank jimmy !
Rest Easy Ronnie and Jimmy Rest Free. For you are now where one day we'll all be. Thy load now light, thy task now done. Thy battles with dragons won. Rest Easy Ronnie and Jimmy Rest Free. \m/\m/✌

RIP jimmy. i can see he struggles ob the stage, but wanting to give it all. true legend, played on quite a few of my all time fav records...
Jimmy was and still is an icon in my view. So sad to see him like this at his last show but great to see his band mates around him. He's one of the reasons that I picked the bass up in the first place and had the privilege to 'live the dream' just for a short while. Continue to RIP Jimmy and thank you. \m/ \m/
Saw these guys just once can’t wait to see them again love Andrews voice live and Vivian 🤘

Met Jimmy once, and he was very pleased when I asked him about playing with KATE BUSH. She's a genius and almost no one ever asked him about that. He was friends with her brother... So many great records and tours, Jimmy did it!
Wow, not the Jimmy Bain I remember he was always so energetic, sad to go out like that. Well you and Ronnie are ripping it up in heaven see you one day in a heaven concert.

Wow Jimmy and Vivian had cancer at that this time... Real dedication right there.. RIP Mr Jimmy bain...
It's tough to watch Jimmy like this but on the other hand he was trying to play to the end. Same as Lemmy, some of those last performances he looked in real agony but wanted to finish out that final tour. Legends.
INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE ..... R.I. P Jimmy Bain !!!
Jimmy Bain is the world best heavy metal Bass Guitarist in Europe & the world. RIP Jimmy Bain.
Maravilhoso, grandes músicos que escreveram a sua página na história do rock , e muitos ainda na ativa . Parabéns guerreiros .

It's inevitable but alas! so very sad and utterly saddening. RIP Jimmy, sing with the Angel's. No pain no more.

Jimmy looked fit to drop here, poor bloke, and he died not long after this show I think. I suppose you could say he "died in his boots" -- working, doing what he loved. RIP.
Wow, I didn’t realize he played right up until the very end! What a warrior! RIP, Jimmy!
What a fucking trooper. I can only hope that I can be doing what I love when the end calls my name...
