I've visited the Uffizi twice. 2003 and then again in 2013. I can see from this video that it has changed since then. Need to go back ! So many places. So little time :(
The "Baptism of Christ" is by Verrochio (Leonardo's teacher). It is speculated that Leonardo painted the angel on the left and maybe some of the water ripples around Christ's ankles.
Most frustrating that almost no dates were attached to any of the statuary as to their creation. One was cited as a copy. when was the copy made. The paintings of da Vinci were they originals or copies.
Unfortunately, this was a rapid walk past a few unnamed Roman sculptures, a stop in a room dedicated to Leonardo ( not on topic), and a bit of time of the gate statue bases. Rather disappointing considering the title.
Many thanks! We have a lot of professional relationships with museums and sites that allow us unparalleled access. Happy to share! Stay tuned for more original content.
So, do they have signs indicating which pieces are copies of original works? (If not Roman copies of Greek statuary, but more modern copies of ancient statuary pulled out of the ground in the medieval and Renaissance periods?) I mean, I visited the Vatican Museum in 2013, and I saw the Laocoon group 00:35 there. So, this is a copy? When was it made? Are most of these pieces copies?
Tell that to the Uffizi: www.virtualuffizi.com/the-greek-myth-of-niobe-and-the-uffizi-neoclassical-room-.html - at any rate, versions of the myth vary. :)
....And, of course, the Romans commissioned a lot of copies of Greek statuary, back 'in the day'. Much of this may be "Roman copies". (Quotes around "Romans", because obviously many of the artisans doing this work at the time may still have been ethnic Greeks.)
Wow, this rare uncrowded view makes me want to return and focus on things I overlooked.
When we filmed, it was shut down! A wonderful experience to film, we assure you!
I can't wait to go back to Italy. My heart lives there... thank you for this and for treating us to some DaVinci.
my favourites are:
- Psyche scared that the sky would fall (Niobe collection) 2:45
- Medusa by Caravaggio
- Calumny of Apelles by Botticelli
So much to show in our future videos!
I could watch this for hours I hate that it's only 7 minutes. I mean this is better than anyting on TV

wonderful place but…appallingly overcrowded
Painting is by Verocchio. Leonardo did the Angel!
And part of landscape!

Nice tour! ❤️
Hermoso vídeo de maravillosos lugares!!!
This is probably made by an American for Americans. Otherwise I can really see no reason why the music is so over the top and pompous!
Cuanto arte extraordinario lego Roma al mundo
I was there in 2017. Absolutely breathtaking.
So much more open now!
I've walked that garden, but had no idea what I was looking at
... Ufzi Galerie, este o "Comoară de Artă a Europei"...!
The "Adoration" is like this experience . . . living here with a monitor but looking into the window of possible.
Fantastic information....thank you so much
Thank you!
Lovely!
I spent one week in Florence but it seems I missed a few spots. Reason to return.
A huge collection with many new rooms open in recent years!
Very interesting!

I want to go back soon. Alone. I want to spend as much time as I want in all the great Museums.
Florence is a short train trip to Nice, France. Get to see both and you will fall in love.

There is some information- but most of the details will be found in relevant publications (and not on brief descriptions in the museum)
It's twelve children, six sons and six daughters, not fourteen--the number of Niobe's unfortunate children.

Magnificent is the word
dude enough ...
Thrilling!
Breathtaking.
We will show more of the Roman collection in future videos!
in Leonardo Room, the Baptism of Christ is by Verrocchio, Leonardo's master. But Leonardo supposedly painted the front Angel.
Leonardo dipinse l'angelo e parte del paesaggio. L'attribuzione è sicura . C'è anche la testimonianza del Vasari.
Ummm probably the artists and sculptures were Greek.
@خانه آریایی ها well, probably.
@خانه آریایی ها bingo.
So, you're demanding that these items be "returned" to Greece?

@@MrJm323 teachers sculpters and artists in Rome were majority Greek born.
