this is sad but can we talk about the workmenship of the home builders. it held its shape and fell into a river whole.
Right100%
haha totally my thought when it fell in and floated away
this house was built to sail.
House raft
In the close up you can see the dog inside.
That house was built well to stay intact like that.
That's a beautiful house. Boat. Houseboat.
Very well build house still one piece
Build a house next to a river, what could possibly go wrong?
Hopefully this scenario every time😀
your wife might throw you in it.
@@Gfysimpletons Go take your meds, psycho.
Ban rivers now!!
Ban assault rivers!

Sorry to homeowner, river hungry... ate whole dang house in one bite. Crazy
It was owned by YNP and was used for employee housing. I believe 5 families lived there. They were able to get their pets and kids out,but lost everything else. 😔
It’s unfortunate for the homeowners, but if they’re alive, they still have everything to be thankful for.
The building was owned by Yellowstone National Park and was used for employee housing. 5 families lived there. They all made it out.
We are now living in the Age of Consequences, and this will become common, even if always devastating…
House:
Look at me I’m Noah’s ark!
Owner:
No no no no!
🤣
Lol
Didn't even break any windows!
So many idiots taunting, "Why build a house near a river?", as if waterfront property hasn't historically been highly desirable, up until the point where "once in a millennium" weather events started happening annually.
Well hello. You can't be too surprised if your the home owner. That's the risk.
why?
because you can easily move it.
this house was apparently built to sail.
bet the owner throws in the anchor in a beauty spot.
"Once in a millennium" weather events are NOT happening annually.
@@obiwan2112 Lol
It doesn’t need to be literally ON the river to be considered a waterfront property. 🙄
Houses are more rigid than I thought
Took a bath on the mortgage.
how did it stayed afloat? does anyone know what happed that house? do they catch it further downstream?
Oh look honey it's a house boat oh wait that looks like our house.....
I was supposed to arrive at yellowstone in 2 weeks for family vacation. I feel so bad for the people of that town and to see your life washed away like that so sad.
Literary, washed
From "riverfront property" to "houseboat!"
That is why I will never live or buy anything close to river or beach....
Wow, it’s almost like you have common sense values! 👍
I wish the world is filled with people like you so I can finally afford a beach front property. 😁

@@Gfysimpletons Do you honestly think this is happening on a consistent basis? If it was, it wouldn't be a story, now would it? Go do some jumping jacks or something to try to get some blood to that single brain cell of yours.
Who ever built that house needs a raise, how did it stay in one piece

Half the country floods while the other half burns
Karmas a b****…..😂🤣😂
@@Gfysimpletons Karma for what? Did the people in Montana do sometime to deserve this?
Half the country is not flooding or burning.
@@melissazietz1241 everyone is to blame!
@@Gfysimpletons I'm pretty sure nature is to blame lol. But if you believe in karma, what do you suppose is the fate of people like you, who laugh at other people's tragedies?
My wife Joanie and I cannot believe this .. this is the owner's house (i think) of the RV park we stayed in Gardner Montana 6 days ago where we Stayed right on the water. This is the river we went rafting on. We rafted right on this part. We used the Flying Pigs, the best group of people for rafting. You could see all the R v's that parked on top because of the storm but we stayed right down the hill right on this river. This is insane!! the owner had his house on the end of the RV park. This is no doubt his house and the RV park we stayed at.
i think was an opportunity missed. it was going to happen, so a few webcams could have been installed around the house.
jeez, that 360 thingy in it live online, charging for access. might cover all losses.😃😃
That is so sad
crazy how it broke away from foundations and all just see sawed into the river
@211 i would have thought it would break in half rather than come away from foundations
I'm Canadian, my heart is with you, trust me. Time to get rid of Italy
I thought there was no water out west!!
Wait until it hits Yankee Jim, about 5 miles down where Dome Mountain is on the north side of the river in the last parts of the video.
Sad.
And why is it sad @Taylor Made ?
Send all that water to Phoenix
Can you imagine being inside while that happened??
Same as going to Magic Mountain.
Dang prayers up
How sad, that one someone home.
It's a boat now
Amazing how well it floats!
they know how to frame them right in MT!

Amazing! Awesome power of nature.

Noah's Ark held up better than expected
I'd like to know how long that structure stood there for. When was it constructed?
Now that’s what u call being in touch with nature🙀
Welp now you have a Houseboat....
I’m going to find where it lands and squatters rights that bit
Now it's a houseboat! You better register it as a marine vehicle.
Unto Lucy we’re going to need more spackle
So many people saying it was bad to build that close to the river. Do you clowns honestly think that the river flowed practically underneath them when the house was built in the first place? Rivers change shape continuously throughout history, that’s why using rivers as borders on maps have lead to so many territorial disputes throughout history.

I would like to know the builders of this house. They should advertise that they build houses and arks.
Maybe if we did a better job sweeping the forest floors this kind of thing wouldn't happen?

Maybe you should research how far away from the river it was built, as well as the usual height of the river. The Yellowstone hasn't flooded like this for many decades.
