- Monster Hunter Rise (MHRise) has some turf wars that I had to talk about before the release of Sunbreak. Goss Harag, Tetranadon, Anjanath, Almudron, Magnamalo, Somnacanth and more destroy each other whenever these happen, and I love it.

Fun fact: Tetranadon isn’t trying to EAT Volvi, it’s trying to DROWN it. You can even see the water sloshing around in Tetra’s mouth as it’s waterboarding Volvi.
Also, Bishaten throws persimmons, which are basically as hard as potatoes. So yeah, that’s a blunt weapon for sure

Completely agree that Goss and Rajang are the definition of going sicko mode, would love to see them going at it with each other
It's hilarious that in a world of crazy-looking and weird monsters, the thing most exciting to us is humanoid monsters punching the crap out of each other. Must be our primal brain or something lmao

Rajang would rape Goss Harag. Not even sugar coating it. I like Goss Harag and I will root for it; however, considering how Rajang is harder to hunt than Goss and have attacks that are faster and more devastating, it's pretty clear who would win.
Also slight downside whenever Magnamalo's turf wars happen:

The funny part is, they are so one sided, they aren’t considered turf wars.

Back in World/Iceborne, Odogaron vs Tigrex (and variations thereof) was my favourite turf war for how vicious and wild it was. In Rise, Aknosom vs Somnacanth is my favourite, but a big shout-out to Zinogre's squabble with Mizutsune.
Sunbreak is looking to have some solid turf wars; Lunagaron vs Garangolm is a spectacle to admire, and the way Malzeno brutally tosses Lunagaron around like a rag doll is stunning.
I haven't seen any of Sunbreak's turf wars yet. It's exciting to hear that they're looking good!

Anjanath did the same thing to Great Jagras and Tetranadon as it did to Kulu-Ya-Ku, so.....he has 3 types of mop to use
Oh forgot to mention Great Wroggi, that makes it the forth mop for Anjanath
Magnamalo with Teo/Kush are slightly different at the end. You can see them try to breath attack Magna because he sends them to the ground, but at the explosion you will notice that the elder dragons actually hurt Magnamalo too and shrug Magnas dive off. In the explosion that the dive causes, with Teostra you can see extra fire and blast powder exploding along with the hellfire at the end, with Kushala you can see a big wind blasts with the hellfire explosion that pushes both away from each other. This is to show Magna is on ED level but not quite above it.
Bazel was done hella dirty tho and I WILL RIOT if Seregios gets that turf war with Magnamalo too.

The power of opposable thumbs AND the intelligence to use tools, too. Probably would have been smarter if he just used a rock instead of a soft-skinned fruit but there is SOME intelligence.
Not to be "that guy" but in the rathian vs diablos fight, diablos actually locks the legs of rathian between his horns, only to throw her and THEN impale her

Okay a Magnamalo VS Crimson Glow Valstrax would be sick, and also funny.
Either Magnamalo gets obliterated and you just see Valtrax turn it into a meteor
Or
Magnamalo counters Val with its jet to blast it back down to the ground to use its velocity against it.
Either way would be really cool to see, like a red and purple star in the sky clashing.
I would LOVE to see this fight for this reason.

Valstrax just jets off, but as he comes to crash in you see an explosion and the crash falls short as magnamalo jumps off of him to careen him into the ground

Yeah it feels like MHWorld had a bigger focus on turf wars compared to Rise. I do appreciate the Stink Mink making recording turf wars in Rise easier, although it was still frustratingly inconsistent at times lol.

I've got 300 hours in Rise/Sunbreak and I've only ever seen 2 turf wars; both were Magnamalo. 95% of the time whichever monster shows up just immediately slaps the other monster and makes them go into wyvern ride mode before the turf war can properly trigger, and before Sunbreak got added hitting a wyvern ride monster INSTANTLY made you ride them, after which they'd always run away.
3:15 At least Magnamalo has a unique Turf War with Malzeno in Sunbreak.
Since it is possible to change monters' sizes, I'd like to see a mod where their size are so different it makes the turf wars ridiculisous. Like a very small anjanath vs a really big kulu.

My favorite turf war that i have seen was the great wroggi vs rathalos, I was just impressed at how brave the wroggi was
Personally i love when Rajang goes LITERALLY Bananas with almost anything that has a Tail... God i saw that ape do that with a Rathian, that was epic xD
Rathian actually gets his foot stuck inbetween the horns, hence why she cant just fly away and seems to be in a panic. Also how diablo smashes her into the ground right after.

Magnamolo vs malzeno is easily the best turf war in my opinion
I loved the rathalos magnamalo turf war. It’s honestly really cool and just how cinematic it is
What I still can't get enough of with Magnamalo's turf wars is that it uses its hellfire to DOUBLE JUMP. Also, that final plunge? It's ALWAYS aimed at a Hunter.
As for Crimson Glow Valstrax, he doesn't get a turf war because nothing in their right mind outside of a Hunter would ever try to scrap with it. I mean, how can anything outside of a Black Dragon-level monster fight on even terms with "TACTICAL NUKE INCOMING: THE MONSTER"?
My all time fave has to be Rajang vs Deviljho. Legit Godzilla vs Kong and I'm here for it.
I viciously dislike kulu-yaku so seeing Anjanath (one of my favorite Brute wyverns) beat the shit out of him is charartic. XD
I actually remember one time doing a hunt against kushala and Magnamaolo I turned my back to heal for a moment and when I looked around both monsters were gone. It wasn't till I looked up was when they were about to come back down my mind was just goin: "Shit-shit shit!" barely avoided the calamity that could've happened had I had been just a tiny bit slower to react.

i like the misutzune vs zinogre turf war they have an animation that looks like the fight that they had in the intro of generations

I really wished one of the turf wars just ended up in one of then dying, then just as your greedy ass goes to carve it, the surviving one sees you, SLAMS you into a wall, and swallows the loser whole. Would have been super funny, super cool, and a good lesson about greedy carves.

Just saying, a cockroach has a very real chance to win a turf war if it were to, say, crawl into the walls, climb on your food or run up onto u. Then most ppl would start packing.
My malamute and pitt lab mix make me see a lunagaron/ Zignore turf war every day and they have so much fun

there should be special animations called turf finishers where if there's a limping monster another monster who tries to turf with it will slay it rather than just deal damage.
turf wars are some of the best additions in recent Titles and good lord Goss didn't have to abuse him so hard

I'm just gonna say it: Magnamalo is like Bakugo with the way he fights. From the explosive propulsion, to the relentless way of attacking.
Me watching tetranodon get beat up was so satisfying it was the hardest monster for me to fight as a newbie
I have a feeling that Magnamalo will only be top dog for a while. He might've figured out how to use his Hell-Blight to keep up with low flying nonsters, but that means some will figure out how to make him tale the brunt of the divebomb later.
