Regine was actually rushed to the hospital after this concert because of her terrible migraines, so when she's performing she was already suffering from it and you can tell, but the show must go on. she's so professional.
From what ive heard she collapse after the concert due to severe migraine
I WAS HERE LIVE!!!! I was only 8 years old then and it was the first concert I attended, but everything was so vivid to me. I can literally feel the arena's vibration when Regine belts. This 2-night concert was so big that even the Philippine's President attended it with her (I think) 30+ escorts.
FACTS:
1. Did they act together? YES ---- in fact, they have a mini skit in this concert shown in-betweens where they TORRIDLY KISSED 🤣🤣🤣 They even spoke in a different language and dubbed it in Tagalog to make it look like a Telenovela (Spanish dubbed in Tagalog)
2. 10 years after this, Martin admitted in an interview that he and a crush on Regine during these times
3. Martin, the PH Concert King, already had a big name when Regine was starting and he and his ex-wife gave her more exposure, even suggested Chona (Reg's nickname) should use the name "Regine".
4. During the concert, Martin's mic was set to maximum volume, while Regine's mic was set to half so that Martin cannot be overly powered by Regine's voice easily. Regine even had migraine attacks during these numbers, so bad that she was rushed to the hospital after the event.
5. Up to this day, in spite of their 30 years of friendship and contributing huge histories in each other's career, Martin is still surprised by Regine's capabilities, often claiming her his favorite singer of all time.
But it doesn't seem to be lowered in half sound of the microphone of Regine
@@rjjr.1071 Yeah, its just a rumour that someone from the audience claimed had a talk with Regine's father who told them about that. Honestly tho she talked between numbers and she sounded normal. She also sang in soft parts, if the volume was lowered then we won't hear clearly those parts. Martin is also a powerful vocalist, regine kept her mic near her mouth all the time but Martin even lowers his mic in some parts to adjust the volume of his voice.
I agree partida pa yan, may migraine or vertigo pa si Regine, muntik pa daw matumba si Regine, pero nag acting daw na hahawak si Regine ni Martin dahil muntik daw syang matumba, halata sa expression ni Regine that she's not feeling well, pero pilit nyang tinawid at tapusing talaga ang cncert, pero excellent pa din performance nila di ba! Galing....

Regine is at her peak during this time. She was lording it over- music recordings, concerts, TV shows, movies...she dominate them all

For info, Regine Velasquez won as the Grand Champion in Asia Pacific Song Contest wayback 1989 held in Hongkong. While Martin Nieverra was awardee and declared as the best performer in Asia Pacific contest way back then.
They are a freak of nature and two of the finest singers in the Philippines! Their skills in singing are almost unmatched. Truly world class!

Regine's father was her vocal coach- he trained her at the sea, when not at the sea she would make her sing while her body is in water like in a drum. That's what trained her lungs to do these compressions and this amazingly high voice.

I love what the lady is saying and understood by the guy re: Regine. I think she was referring to PLACEMENT and how with other singers it can be all too obvious when they sing in chest but voice or head voice because of a difference in resonance. But Regine has mastered the art of singing through her fascia or facial mask , using not just her nose but her entire face to resonate through all of the notes. It’s efficient and effective because it’s the optimal mix and doesn’t tire out her vocal cords but still resonant without too much effort.
Aga, the reason she looked “focused” was because she was having a migraine attack during this performance.

Regine and Martin,Morissette Amon, Leah Salonga, Charice Pempengco,and Katrina Velarde are some of the best of the bunch of talented, POWERHOUSE Filipino singers.
They are GOD AND GODESS in the Philippines. They could have REIGNED THE WORLD in their prime years. They were of no equal in the world. The Best in Pop music. It is a SHAME that they were left here, BUT many have enjoyed them here.

If you love musicals, you should definitely check out some of Lea Salonga's performances. She was the original lead in MISS SAIGON in London and on Broadway. And Lea is the singing voice of two Disney Princesses: Jasmine ("A Whole New World") and Mulan ("Reflection").
For a real treat: check out Lea Salonga and Regine Velasquez musical medley! They recorded their parts separately - it was for an online concert fundraiser Regine did during the pandemic (April 2020). They sound so great! I'm pretty sure the two of them have never done any duets together previously.
