A #1 hit for Crystal Gayle on the Country & Western charts. It was the 640th #1 C&W song of the Rock Era. I saw Crystal on May 25, 1987 (Memorial Day) at the Busch Gardens Amusement Park in Williamsburg, VA. She opened for The Charlie Daniels Band.
In my opinion, this song is being a strong advocate for mental illness, all illnesses, and depression. We all have our demons. We are all human. We all must survive with belief in ourselves. Thank you for sharing the positive comments and the video. Crystal has truly sang from her heart. Love everyone around you. It is the greatest gift.
Perhaps the most beautiful of all Country/Crossover voices and certainly the most beautiful woman to ever grace the stage. Saw her in Indio on New Years 2000. Incomparable!
I Love this song! It reminds me of my Mom (who at 32 lost her husband ... My Father) in a plane crash. she lived 41 years after that but, I don't think she ever recovered fully. May she rest in Peace!

esta canción es terapéuticamente buena, cuando te buscas a ti mismo, y ves tus mismos errores, y te necesitas a ti mismo para volver a levantarte después de caído, fabulosa canción, me fascino desde que la oí por primera vez
Such a refined yet raw voice!
this is absolutely her life song and no one can take from her.
A beautiful video from an even more beautiful woman. It's been one of my all time favorites for over thirty years now.
