Smoke on the Water, Deep Purple... iconic and legendary. The City of Montreux has a sculpture of the notes to the riff at the entrance to the city. That's how iconic it is... "We all came out to Montreux, on the Lake Geneva shoreline."

I love Howard but, he defiantly did NOT connect with early metal in his youth. Priest, Sabbath, Deep Purple ect.....Which is fine........ Early metal was extreme music back then.......

Iommi gets credit for writing metal when few bands were doing that. His playing is pretty basic though. Even in his era, Richie Blackmore was levels above.

Steve is awesome. Needs to play in front of people more and or with other people more. You can feel the nervousness because the tempos are twice as fast on everything he plays. Happens to all of us.
