The whole thing about the chair arms made me laugh... I just got a new chair for my work desk (I work from home) and I made sure to get one that has arms that flip up and out of the way. That way when I have down time or if I'm waiting for someone to respond or I just need a short break, I can grab my guitar and get those chair arms out of the way.
Right? I spent $500+ on a new chair just to take the arms off it so I can use it for work AND play guitar. Guitars and amp sit in a rack right next to the desk - any time I need a quick break I can just reach over and grab a six string and noodle.

I've been listening to him regularly for a few years, and off and on for decades. While we aren't the same age, I am with in 20 years of it. Over the last 20 years or so we seem attracted to the same hobbies: photography, painting, journaling/pen collecting and now guitar. Just like him, I always wished I had started playing more seriously as a teenager but life got in the way. In mid March I bought a nice guitar and amp and setout to teach myself. In those 3 months I feel I have progressed so much further than he has, based on what he has played on the air. I do find it odd in the 4 months he has been playing, he managed to learn to read music, a skill that never even crossed my mind seeing everything is tabbed somewhere. Anywho, with so many resources online it is absolutely possible to teach yourself, especially with instruction like you provide.
If that's the best he can play, his music reading ability can't be all that great either. Even if he read music well as a kid (I did), from playing keyboard as a kid as Howard did, if you don't keep it up you lose the reading ability. My reading ability is so slow now, I don't say I can read.
