@ but will it increase the top speed and haptic buzz to 25mph like the GTS? I already have a rally edition so I’m spoiled and can’t go back to average performance. 😬
@carvecreative would love to see vids on your thoughts regarding GTS, Vesc, Floatwheel, Fungineers, Future Motion allowing some self repair now etc, so many changes this past couple years. Great for the community.
Well said comparison. I loved my XR and dropped $1k in mods to love my GT, so the XRC is a great alternative that comes with the weight, tire and rail improvements already in place. Nice to see you guys posting again.
@ FM is still playing catchup but if the factory team and or just better integration with the community existed, the GT could have been the XRC. Oh well, glad to own one and it’s a nice compliment to the GTS as you guys stated also
dont know if its the newer FM footpads but I have a front concave footpad (soft) for my pintX and it does not drop me but it will make clicking noises, the same kind of click you hear when come to balance and know the sensor is activated. I have to ride with my feet farther back on the footpad, but will still do it sometimes. Again, it has not "dropped" me dropped me yet, but will cut out and click at speed and scare the shit out of me. great video, very much considering grabbing one of these new XRC.
When you were comparing the footpad heights, it looks like the tire on the xrc is a little bit taller than the xr+ which definitely should be taken into account.
Nice review. This confirmed that for a big boy that's used to vesc, I would have to vesc this board. Don't think I would buy since I'm going for longer range and more power with 84v. 6'4 265.
I just ordered my first Onewheel. Silly question, is the fender designed more for preventing your foot from hitting the wheel, or for preventing water from splashing you?
Dear Carve Creative, What Ride Mode do you recommend for GT? Other than turning AGG +5 is there other setting you recommend? Like Dynamic Response or Gradient Setting?
The “Tippy” feeling comes from the high center of gravity on the GT boards. The XR and Pint were more centered on the wheel, making the boards ride much better. It’s a confidence thing. When you’re constantly struggling with the feeling of the board tipping out from underneath you, it’s not a very fun/safe feeling ride. When you can just jump on the board and ride and not worry about that feeling, it is a complete game changer.
I think as far as range there isn’t really a big difference. But when talking about power and over all ride quality the XRC is going to be a better board.
I find it interesting that you immediately changed the footpads then compared them, with many of the comparison points was about the aftermarket footpads? Kinda silly thing to do..
That’s a great point, I’ve ridden the other footpads on the GTS and enjoy them but I’d be willing to bet the edge height isn’t too far off from the lowboys height. When we actually review the board I’ll definitely go back to stock! Thanks for the input!
25:38 "If they could have done anything better with this board, what do you think you would have done differently. The VESC community is laughing..." at the "Backwards Motion" of "Future Motion." I love my 5" inch MTE hub on my WTF/Enduro setup with Flight Fins, Fangs. I never acquired a GT because of the heavy 6.5" hub... it's the wrong direction for a device with no suspension. Not to mention, 5" hub is almost 2lbs lighter than a 6.5" hub. Also, they should have Ceramic Coated the rails to help dissipate heat. Powder Coating is a wonderful insulator, but that is the last thing you want on rails designed to extract heat from the motor. "There ain't no bumpers like the Bang Bumpers" but at least FM is moving in the right direction with the guidance of Bodhi.
For an out of the box board, they did a great job. The best they’ve put out to date. There’s always going to be something to complain about. But that’s why companies like TFL exist in every sport in the world. And just to be clear, the other guys on the factory team are the ones putting in the hard work and guidance.
@carvecreative Because instead of Just sticking to an OLder Base XR, They Change it to Whole Dimension. You cannot used any Parts of OG XR for XR Classic. Just Very Old SkooL Greedy Future Motion

@@JohnEich what’s up John! Good to be back. Vesc content incoming….
As soon as you said “surges” is the moment you saved me $2k. Thanks for the video
You can add the GTS motor to the XRC and the surging is pretty much gone! Lightweight powerful setup!

Since I’ve gone VESC the crunch is something that I now notice a ton when I hear a future motion board. VESC feels so smooth on mounting.

nice to see the original XR. come on, ride XR side by side with the new XRC on camera.
Classic Crunch Edition
😂 Apparently the GTS motor gets rid of a lot of the noise. Might need to check it out and make a video about it

That definitely sounds like the footpad isn’t sensing your foot while you’re cruising. I would turn your deactivation delay in custom all the way up.
Glad to see some videos again. 🤙They never renewed the XR patten would that have anything to do with why the didn't use the logo?
Thank you! Who knows?! Time will tell I’m sure.
I have a hard time getting the front foot sensor to engage when wearing crocs. Both on my old XR and the GT.
For sure!the right shoes are crucial.

That is a very good point. I will definitely make sure to get that into the next video!

That hard braking “drop out” issue happens on my GTS when I mess with the braking settings. When I reset the settings it seemed to fix it.

I'm with you there, yeah in all honesty if you’re a larger rider you’ll need more power and range. The range for me hasn’t been good at all.
Can confirm 84v VESC is a beast
I just ordered my first Onewheel. Silly question, is the fender designed more for preventing your foot from hitting the wheel, or for preventing water from splashing you?
It’s more for water and debris, it also helps to be able to wedge your foot against it!
Dear Carve Creative, What Ride Mode do you recommend for GT? Other than turning AGG +5 is there other setting you recommend? Like Dynamic Response or Gradient Setting?
Highline has always been our favorite with flow being 2nd.
Yes you want a bit of gradient tracking on for sure
@@dogbog99 Thank you I currently use 5, idk if it's enough. If the board got no speed it won't climb any hill.

@@MGRodriguez1 top heavy in relation to the pint and XR platform. You stand higher up in relation to the wheel on the GT.

curious about the range on the classic
We’ve got a range test video. But psi wasn’t perfect and it was a little cold out. It’s better than the OG XR but nowhere close to the GT
SHOULD I GET THIS XR CLASSIC OR THE PINT S AS A FIRST TIMER WHAT U THINK
I think as far as range there isn’t really a big difference. But when talking about power and over all ride quality the XRC is going to be a better board.
I haven’t had a pint S last more than 40 miles without bricking.

The wider footpads are just that. Wider. No other difference. So the comparison is still the same technically.
nice board but its a bummer that they don't give the option to order it with stock wooden footpads... the stock ones ruin the classic look...
Agreed. We’ve got a set of wood pads coming. Planning to do a comparison video. 🍻
Sounds like it needs a Floatwheel kit right out of the box.
😈
all the comparisons were awkward. the guy who brought the XR plus seemed to think that the after market parts on the classic were stock.
Thanks for the feedback! We were just hanging out! I’ll try to get more dialed in for the review🙄
People are seeming to enjoy it🤔
The aftermarket footpads are basically the exact same thing as the stock footpads just wider. I don’t understand the issue here, my friend. But 🍻
