I will be getting a black king snake, I’m wondering if I can use 2 parts eco terra plantation soil and 1 part play sand as the substrate. I want to keep said snake in its natural habitat as much as possible. if I’m wrong does anybody have any ideas?
Wait a minute you said California king snake is the largest of all kingsnakes I thought the Florida Brooks kingsnake holds the number one spot??? Correct me if I'm wrong
I think i said one of the larger species. Yes the florida king is the largest, but some cal kings have reached five feet (few and far between) so they are large when compared to all the Mexicanas, prairies, pyros, moles etc
@@JzsReptiles yeah I definitely agree but there's also pros and cons like I have a Cali king snake and I fed him one pinky a week for a whole year then I moved up to a fuzzy for the next year and mice every 14 days the year after that my kingsnake is fairly small my cousin feeds his Cali king snake every 5 days jumps from Pinky to fuzzy to mice just only in a few months from the snake being hatched now he feeds his medium-sized rats I think it's fairly how frequent you feed them and how big the prey item is I always thought to myself once you stretch out their stomach you're also stretching out of appetite and that's how they grow massive and rapid.. anywho I enjoyed your video great job can't wait to see an update on the snakes when they get bigger
Interesting To Note, merci. Reptiles Rule.
Nice video, you got into all the good details..Some kings are very calm and some are alittle fiesty but all amazing.
Thanks! I absolutely love all the different species, locals and attitudes
@@JzsReptiles same here. I think they are just like people..some are calm and some are always on edge and defensive lol
