Im not tired of the dancing house. I thought it looked familiar because there is a building at MIT in the USA that looks a lot like that. You are a great guide!!!
Nice! Last year when we visited Praha we spent an entire day in that area around the old train bridge. First we went to Vysehrad to walk around the castle, then we went to eat at Hostinec na Vytoni (didn't know there was a museum there as well. The duck there is fantastic), then we walked over the bridge to Staropramen and had some beers there...very nice area.
You Tube and the world are troubling, thank you for offering me a break.. I get a few minutes of happy things, pretty things and knowledge , thanks.. peace
Thanks for the info! I have been worrying about flooding in central Europe. I am glad to see that Prague looks like any damage may be manageable. Great stuff RPG's.
Great video. I learned something new about places I regularly visit like Výtoň. I would just add one notion to 2002 flood: unlike the other big floods mentioned in the video this one happened despite cascade of dams had been built in 20th century which was meant (among others) to protect Prague against big floods. So nobody expected it could get so bad. Yet it did.
The distant camera shot of some of those buildings highlights their majestic beauty. I’m envious of the people that live in there. I don’t think I could ever get bored or take my surroundings for granted if I walked around there every day.
thanks for the video that spans from current situation to the old days. your historical pills are really interesting and I wish you will cover topics dealing with history and art in the future.
1:30 Last time I was in Prague I saw a bus go under that bridge and hit it being a bit higher than allowed. It was so funny as there is some contraption before the bridge to make drivers know if they are higher which he did hit as well.
Prague is beautiful, we loved Cesky Krumlov too! Budapest was beautiful too. Tour the Budapest Parliament if you haven’t. Also see Fisherman’s Bastion & St Matthias Church there. St Steven’s Church is across the river same side as the Parliament. Go on the boat cruise and see the Old Market Hall.
Beautiful and informative video! Thanks for your work! I enjoy it very much. I've walked along most of the locations in this video, and it's shocking to see the Vltava River so high! I'm wondering what happened to the little cafes and galleries they call the "Lenses" that are in the riverwall. Glad Prague was spared the worst of the recent flooding. The eastern parts of the Czech Republic and southeastern Poland weren't so lucky.
The water level didn't reach the "Lenses" this time, but in case it would happen, there are metall doors installed, meaning the interior will be protected and not flooded, the worst it might cause is to break the glass at the entrance, but that's repairable...
I love your videos ❤❤❤ I love Prague and visit often but I don't find myself learning much about its history. Please keep making these wonderful tour videos. :)
Excellent information. I just came back from visiting Prague (business trip), not much time to explore and I followed some of your suggestions from previous videos regarding places to eat. Very helpful.
Visiting Prague from 4 to 11 November for the first time from South Africa. Would absolutely love to meet you in person. Have been watching all your videos.
Great video! I just left Prague, I'm glad the hyped up flooding never really happened (that much), but it did mark the end of summer lol, a few cold days there, and including the day I went on the WW2 & Communism tour hosted by Vaclav (highly recommend it!!).
I think this is the side of the city we didn’t get to see when we visited. I’m referring to the beginning where she shows water still over the riverbank. We stayed very close to the old town square where the Astronomical Clock Tower and Church of Our Lady are. Prague is a beautiful city we went to tour Prague Castle, Powder Tower, Charles Bridge, toured the Astronomical Clock Rower, visited the Church of Our lady and another church in the old town square area but I can’t remember the name of it. It has a dome while Church of Our Lady has the two towers.
The town I live in was on the brink of flooding last year in January and people from all over the country came to visit to check it out. It was pretty weird. Of course I checked it out myself, but I happened to be around the area.
There is no flood, just the river embankments are closed, so f.e. there will not be the farmers markets... Otherwise Prague stands as majestic as ever..

@@xsc1000 It is about accent, Russian speakers just can't hear long vowels properly and can't pronounce combinations like ií, they say it more close Englsh, while in Czech, you have to pronounce every letter or it's not understandable. Currently in Prague, visiting from Costa Rica. Your videos really helped me moving around, thank you! 😁
Was just in Prague a few months ago and I'm so relieved the damage from this flood was not as bad as 2002. This was a great idea for a video!
