It also seemed like the skinwalker stepped on a trap . There was a trap symbol under the freeze icon and at the same time the Skinwalker took damage, it could have been a mix of what was meant to be a jumpscare and the skinwalker screaming in pain.
Won't lie, each of those effigies scream Blair Witch to me. I get it's supposed to be generic, but every time you think Blair Witch one of those pops up doesn't it? That and most effigies tend to be unique based on materials, shape, technique, and ritual. By that say different type of stick and twine material, any particular additions to the effigy to signify who are what by some kind of inscription or perhaps some other medium such as blood or some type of mineral water or something. How it is put together, maintained, and the type of premise of what is being channeled. By that mean like if it's more like an antenna that radiates the power outward or it acts like a siphon where it draws it in for some other source.

(A bit like SCP 939) While the skinwalker likes to follow you home and pretend to be a relative or friend and will be very insistent about you letting them into your house- most common behavior in towns. Out in the wilds they will try and hunt or stalk you like a Wendigo.

IGP, when facing Cultist, use the tomahawk. Everytime you hit the cultist with it, they will recoil back. They will not stop trying to kill you, but it is definitely better than trading blows when using firearms against them. Also, for misfiring, try to look around the map for a gun cleaning kit. The skinwalker cave should be on the top left corner.

Skinwalkers are basically like fusing a Wendigo and a Lycanthrope (werewolves and such), having the feral and ferocious behavior of a wendigo, but having the transforming property of a werewolf. Skinwalkers will eventually become stuck in their monstrous form if they stay like that for to long but will keep some form of emotion and intelligence.
i like the fact that youre using .30-06 FMJ and .30-06 is a big round, and its great for dealing damage, but the FMJ is making it to where youre not doing any damage and youre just poking holes thru shit...otherwise a bear wouldve died in one shot, not two
Yup. FMJ are actually illegal to hunt with in most states because it’s good at wounding the animal but bad at killing it. Hollow points are what you want to hunt with. For this same reason hollow points are banned in warfare because of their lethality.

Like you are sent to a small abandoned town and you need to find clues as to whom the skinwalker is... and at the end it's some cut seen with the character you control killing the skinwalker.

That depends. In some tales you can kill them just by damage alone. In others however, you have to do some crazy things. My idea of a wendigo is a tall, lanky humanoid with torn flesh and patches of fur, sharp claws on its hands, hooved feet, and most notably, a deer skull worn like a mask. a skinwalker is literally just an extremely bony humanoid with pale skin, sunken eyes and sharp teeth
This video perfectly explains the sheer frustration, focus, and goddamn effort it takes to defeat the Skinwalker. Took me almost five hours to get it done, and let me tell you, the fricking Radiation Map...I nearly pissed myself.
Really good play through, thank you. I would hope as a hunter who is traveling thousands of miles to hunt a new skin walker, that you would purchase high quality weapons and inspect your ammo for defects before engaging. The “misfire “ thing was cute once.

However, the double barrel shotgun was left out in the elements by (presumably) one of the people who went missing and is then picked up and put to use by the hunter. It would probably be rusted like crazy depending on how long it sat there.

It's a nice touch to actually add a caliber instead of just saying rifle ammo, that said, my 30-06 has kept me and my family well fed.

As for this game, The legends say you catch the suspected skinwalker, keep them in a cage without feed or water and under constant surveillance, then you wait. If it's a skinwalker you kill it when it returns to human form, that's when they're mortal. Then you burn it.

yeah so there is a cave on the northern section i think the north western ridge area, its not exactly the skinwalker's cave but it looked like it "could" be it's cave.

skinwalkers are different from wendigoes, depending on what your idea is of each.
My idea of a wendigo is a tall, lanky humanoid with torn flesh and patches of fur, sharp claws on its hands, hooved feet, and most notably, a deer skull worn like a mask.
a skinwalker is literally just an extremely bony humanoid with pale skin, sunken eyes and sharp teeth
He should have kept his light on it flashes when the skin walker is close so so it helps
This video perfectly explains the sheer frustration, focus, and goddamn effort it takes to defeat the Skinwalker. Took me almost five hours to get it done, and let me tell you, the fricking Radiation Map...I nearly pissed myself.
Really good play through, thank you. I would hope as a hunter who is traveling thousands of miles to hunt a new skin walker, that you would purchase high quality weapons and inspect your ammo for defects before engaging. The “misfire “ thing was cute once.
The misfire was from the shotgun, not the ammo. The striker springs for double barrel shotguns can get gunked up and cause a misfire.

@@thegungadfly8930 I can agree with that wholeheartedly, you always make sure your equipment works beforehand.
However, the double barrel shotgun was left out in the elements by (presumably) one of the people who went missing and is then picked up and put to use by the hunter. It would probably be rusted like crazy depending on how long it sat there.
