Thanks to you this is like a behind the scenes look as a drummer for the greatest marching band in college history. I watch your videos every night and can't wait to go to games and see it all in person. GO IRISH!!!!!
I'm a new tenor player in my high school drumline, but I can't imagine going to a place like notre dame to play in their drumline, you know, besides it being expensive to attend the school, but it looks and sounds like tons of fun to be in. Great point of view btw!
Jacob Morningstar definitely try to continue marching band through college, no matter where you go! It's a great experience! Also there are always scholarships and financial aid to help make schools like ND more affordable! Keep on drumming!
8th grader here from Man, WV! I’m a bass drum player for our high school’s marching band and currently playing the tenor drums a little bit. I’d love to be on the Notre Dame drumline! Mad skills, man! You’re a real inspiration! Thanks!
@@IrishDrummer Hope all is well, man! I've been locked out of that old account for a while now, lol. I'm in my second year of college now, and ended up playing tenors for 3 years with my high school band! I'm back with my high school now for their alumni band on snare! Stay safe out there!
That’s awesome to hear! Gotta love it when dreams come true. Enjoy college, it goes by too fast 😆 Hope the alumni band is treating you well and keep on crushing it!
I really loved this video! I don't play the drums myself but I loved hearing you play and being on the field, kinda, with you. But most of all, I love Notre Dame! Go Irish!
I am currently the quint player on my high school drumline. I really would like to make it on the Notre Dame drumline. My parents went there, and my uncle was a trumpet in the Notre Dame band. What should I do to practice to be ready for auditions?
Joseph Hagerty I'm a freshman quad in hs but I'm good enough to give advice. Figure out what the exercises are for the audition and rep the crap out of them. Also, take private lessons if you don't already, they 1on1 help is extremely beneficial
My younger son just started marching . These cam videos are a great benefit to young teens just starting to march . My fiend went to ND. We are in Chicago area. Told my son it would be good to see the game ( but mostly the band) in the fall . Do they offer any kind of mentorship or day in the life for younger kids (7/8 th grade ?)
Thank you! Seeing the band as a kid is the reason I wanted to join it 🙂 I would recommend reaching out to the band via their website or reaching out to any of the band’s section’s Instagram or Facebook pages since those are run directly by students. If you can take him up on a Friday before a game too, the band has a practice parade and open rehearsal that starts around 4pm and any band member would be happy to talk to your son then too!
@@IrishDrummer this is amazing information! Thank you so much . I think if he misses one day of school to take a look at the college and see the campus/ band/ game , it could be a moment of divine inspiration for this kid . He’s been drumming with his teeth since he was 3. It’s time .😂
