Daniel Heiman is probably the best metal singer on the planet, you've reacted to a few of his things before. Lost Horizon and Dimhav. Definitely check out more from him. Warrior Path and Heed also have great tracks with him. It's almost a miracle you haven't picked up much on him or had an interview. Anyway, Project Aegis is a charity project. If you buy this track, the money goes to children that need instruments. So quite fitting you react to this in a holiday time of giving

Project Aegis only has 3 songs - all for charity, but they're all interesting in their own way and feature different vocalists. Matt Smith is the constant. I'm a fan of Neal Morse and all his groups (Spock's Beard, Transatlantic, Flying Colors, The Neal Morse Band), but you are so right. He does not look like he belongs playing music at all. But he is quite legendary in progressive rock circles. Mike Portnoy, original Dream Theater drummer, is a frequent collaborator with Neal Morse. They've made more albums together than Portnoy made with Dream Theater.

Neal Morse may not be the absolute best voice out there in term of timbre (though IMHO he has outdone himself here), he is also a brilliant composer. I LOVE his 2 hour piece called "Jesus Christ, the exorcist". 😎

Neal Morse is a bonified musical genius. He may not look the part but he is easily one of the greatest song writers / composers of our generation. The Neal Morse Band's 2nd album is one of, if not the best prog album ever written.
