It wasn’t until about the middle of the movie that the lightbulb finally went off in my head and I recognized I was doing what the majority of is are subconsciously trained to do: Deny any emotion that causes discomfort and/or pain and consistently put on a sunny, “happy” front. After that I had to acknowledge, “Touché, Pixar. Well done.”

    nearly everyone hates Sadness at the start of the movie. but she couldn't control herself for a reason. Riley had a reason to be sad. She moved away from the only home she ever knew, leaving all her friends behind into a place where everyone is different from where she was before. It's ok for her to be sad about that. The catastrophe was Joy's fault. Toxic positivity. Not allowing Riley to process all her emotions and forcing her to be happy. We all do it. We try to "put on a brave face" and "smile through it" hoping it will help, completely suppressing all other negative emotions, most especially sadness. But sadness is as necessary as Joy is. they all are.

They dont show speak about depression but ylu can see it on Bing Bong's flower pettal there is an extra emotion gray that represents depression and when the concol turns gray. One of the side effects of depression is that you can no longer feel any emotions. Good job guys

    'What funny movie has a dog dying?' They could be talking about Turner and Hooch, but they're probably talking about a film more recent to this film. How in the hell am I supposed to tell you which dog movie to watch without spoiling it for you? Watch every movie starring a dog between 2005 and 2010 - you'll hit it eventually.

    One plot hole for the movie that's always bothered me is that the memory managers show that they can send specific memories up to HQ, but Joy and Sadness don't use it to send the core memories back up. If they did that then Riley would still have issues with emotional regulation until they got back, but there wouldn't be the risk of complete personality collapse.

    • @naolucillerandom5280
      @naolucillerandom5280 Год назад

      I've heard a theory that everyone realized that in the movie, but Joy didn't trust the other emotions enough to let them handle the memories while she went back (especially with the whole sadness "corrupting" thing). In Joy's view, she HAD to do it herself because the others would just mess it up anyways. And Sadness just goes with whatever Joy says, so even if she noticed she wouldn't say anything.
      It's probably just a plot hole, but this theory makes sense to me.
