In the film, Sadness is my favorite. She never had to project or anything. She remained true to herself, her emotion - whereas Joy was exaggerating the truth, always wanted the easy way out, and manipulative. Grant it, I do use my own Joy to cope most of my emotions; I depend on streaming services to escape reality and the situations I should be facing. At least I know that I need to face each of my emotions when or before it’s stretching on thin ice.
Sounds like you need therapy, and didn't get the point of anything.
Very well put!
She’s my favorite as well because she felt that Riley needed to grieve about her new situation in order to be better. Hell she was only 11 at the time. Riley was sad and she needed to feel it.

When I first watched this movie I was 19, traveling on a 12 hour flight to a different continent for college, alone, away from my friends and family for the first time and I watched this on the plane. Needless to say, due to the loneliness isolation, *this movie utterly destroyed me.*
An apocalypse inside your head? Terrifying 😊
I hope you made new friends in the continent you traveled to back then. How’s college now?
@@RabbitsFunWorld Oh I made plenty, and I've been done with it for 3 years now. I'm 27 :)
@@mastereppsreturns6586 congrats! On making friends and finishing college. 😁 Not a lot of people complete college… namely me. 😓
@@RabbitsFunWorld waste of money if you ask me. It’s all about who you know and your drive
"You crying girl, about Bing-Bong?"
Hey...I cried about Bing-Bong too. It's okay.
How could you not?! Thanks for not making me feel alone there! 🥹🥰
It really struck me just now that all the characters in Riley's head ARE Riley. When her emotions prod and argue with each other, that's her struggling with herself. They're all aspects of her brain and personality somehow, even the little blobs that send up the jingle, sweep away memories to be forgotten, and make dreams. That includes Bing-Bong, and his act of self-sacrifice is part of her too, an aspect of her childhood brain making space for her to grow up and move forward.
I never thought about Bing Bong but that is a great perspective!
And it's worth noticing that Riley's parents' emotions are very organized and communicate with each other before hitting buttons/levers on the control panel. There's not as much of a power struggle between their emotions, since her parents are adults with fully developed emotional maturity. Meanwhile riley, a child, has less organized emotions who act impulsively and argue with each other a lot more.
If you think about it when u think about the happy memories you get sad cause you wish you could do it again.
Nostalgia.
Sadness is my favorite. Joy to me always ignored the problem or situation going on around her. She was also manipulative with the others and did not listen much when they might actually have a good idea. She would rather listen to Reilly's imaginary friend then someone she has been around with since birth like Sadness and the shortcut situation. Granted we all need joy in our lives, but sadness is also is needed to help us deal with loses in life like the death of a loved one. There are just some things that need a different kind of healing. Loved the reaction.
Bing Bong death for me was so sad because it represented the end of childhood, the end of innocence and the carefree time of imaginary friends, the simplicity of just being a kid. Great reaction
And the end of having imagination. Even if they're not real, forgetting an imaginary friend, is like losing an actual friend after knowing them for as long as you can remember
#SAD
I cried a ton when Bing Bong sacrificed himself for Riley~ And because she is growing up, usually imaginary friends get foregtten~
To be honest, I could never see why people got upset when Bing Bong sacrificed himself, but then I never really thought of it representing letting go of childhood things and transitioning to adolescence and growing up. When I think of it that way, it is sad. The scenes that get me are when Joy realizes how important Sadness is, like when Riley's parents consoled her after the hockey game because of Sadness, and when Riley broke down and told her parents that she missed her friends back in Minnesota.
This movie is a fantastic, if childish, representation of the brain. For example, short term memories convert to long term memories while we sleep, just like in the movie. They also got the stages of abstraction correct. In addition to being fairly accurate, it gives children a metaphor to explain their emotional state they may not have had before.
Yes!!! Loved it!!
When I first saw this film I was seriously annoyed with Sadness, 'til the end, I understood that every emotion was important but still a bit confused. Not until I experienced a really difficult time in my life. When it took a toll on my mental health. For the longest time, I try to shy away from being vulnerable coz people depend on me so I can't afford for anyone to see me weak. Whenever anyone asks me if anything is wrong, I'll say everything is fine. Even though I can no longer sleep at night thinking about how to fix the problems that we have.
It was toxic positivity the same as what joy was showing here, and since we're only human, the more you try to suppress your real emotion the more it will affect you once it starts exploding coz you can't contain it anymore. Expressing her sadness coz the moment calls for it is not only a way of release but also to get empathy. Coz sometimes getting empathy, knowing someone is listening and knowing you have someone to lean on is better than getting all the praise for being soo strong esp when all you did was to try to be strong all your life so no one worries about you.
Apologies for the long comment. Really enjoying your Pixar and Disney Reactions by the way
Nah most people can’t stand Joy, at least until the end, because she barrels through the other emotions and always fights for control of everything. If you don’t process all the “bad” emotions, then you never learn how to handle them in a healthy way. And eventually they’ll explode out of you in the most toxic way possible.
I think thats the point, Joy quite literally didn't know why Sadness was there in the first place...she was the first emotion, and believed that Riley only needed to be happy, the movie shows her learning what sadness' role in riley's mind was
It's just such a beautifully made movie. it's so emotional and it really touches you. I think it's really great for children, because it teaches them about the importance of emotional literacy and how to properly handle their emotions. It really makes you think about the importance of emotions in our lives and how they shape who we are. i think that's an important message, especially for kids to learn.
Such a great movie!! I always bawl like a baby when watching. It's an important lesson that we need to *feel* our feelings and process every emotion ♥No one can be happy 24/7.
Yes definitely a great lesson for all!!
Bing Bong's death still wrecks me. TO THIS DAY!
Heard about this film then decided to finally watch it bc i saw Inside Out 2’s trailer and seeing that anxiety, something that i suffer from, is going to be in it. I cried with this movie i laughed with this movie. By the end i thought wow what a great way to explain emotions. I watched Soul right after and man what a great double feature i had.
Wall-e is my all time favorite Pixar movie. Theres just so much in that film that we can relate to today while also teaching an important lesson to the younger generation. Hopefully you guys can react to that masterful movie
Thanks for the recommendation! Haven’t seen it so I’ll add it to the list!
You can’t go wrong with Wall-e. Straight masterpiece
I don’t think I’ve seen many of any say that joy was their fav actually. A lot of them said that their fav was sadness or anger.

Girl, we all creed for bingbong 😢❤😂
“Iron Giant”
Favorite Disney - Tangled, Favorite Pixar - Toy Story
Disney bought Pixar long ago. Disney films are more focused on musicals and princesses, while Pixar are on interesting stories like what you are watching .
Devin would like Mulan if he's not already seen it. The original animated.
This is great movie and I love watching your reactions. My favorite would be Monster inc. But I also love so many others animated movies
Thank you!!!
Sadness is definitely today's emo kids 😂💯
I will recommend something different - Team StarKid. They are known for musical parodies of such things as Harry Potter, Star Wars, Batman, Disney (the reason I mention it in this video), and much more. Subtitles help with the not great audio and you have to be prepared for bad language and "adult" content, but their shows are so great. Think about it.
Yaaaas! I fully support this.
Are we going to ignore the ironic fact that the Mother's Sadness is voiced by The Joy (MGS 3)
Make sure you watch the credit scenes!!

HTTYD and Shrek are *not* Disney. They're Dreamworks.

Queen Chrysalis: I'll get more evil females and be back
next season! But you won't!
Pleeeaaase tel me you watched the credits! They are full of awesome bits looking inside the thoughts and feelings of people on the street.
I also hope that they did watch it
Oh no…we didn’t but I will definitely go back and watch!! Thank you!!
@@snackandreact For shame, for shame! You should always take a look at the credits: even if they don't have extra entertainment, they show the names of the people who helped make the animation, the story, all the technical aspects. Their names in the credits are almost the only notice they get. Especially if the movie made an impression on you, they deserve that.
One of my favorite animated films is Monsters vs Aliens by DreamWorks
Sherk The Movie 1-2-3-4
Every time I see the part where bing bong dies it makes me cry 😭
Also I like those pants
I know it's like months later but I hope you guys will watch the "Riley's first date short"
Another great reaction, but I must ask, bruh where did you get the pants, those are dope!
Amazon!! AITFINEISM Mens Cotton Baggy Hippie Boho Gypsy Aladdin Yoga Harem Pants
Pixar is a branch of Disney, so if you see Pixar logo, its from their studio with Disney's support.
Pixar is an animation studio..an animation studio that was turning out brilliant movies before Disney bought them out. They continue to make their amazing animated features, and people continue to think that these films were in some way created by Disney.
Tbh when the movie started i didnt like joy at all. I already picked up she was doing the toxic positivity thing. But also ive been very sad all my life so i have alot of experience with its depth.
So when people are like why is sadness doing these things , even though it makes sense for her to be sad after moving away, it just annoys me. Im glad the movie was realistic in terms of hey. Feelings are important all of them.
Watch Onward..really cute movie
*whoosh* 🙃
Y’all should watch Soul next!!
I watched this and Soul right after
Please react to Brother Bear, it’s such an underrated movie!! :)
Luck it a great movie with a girl n a black cat
I saw this film late , cause the trailers to me never looked that interesting. It came out in 2014 and I saw it during the 2020 lockdown and it’s one of my favorite Pixar movies (prob top 3). The concept is great , and it’s a really good depiction of depression for kids that age and probably in general Imo . I’m really excited for inside out 2, they said it’ll be abt Riley during her teen years and that their adding a new emotion too. It’s most likely gunna be horny, cause that’s really the only “emotion” that gets added during ur teenage years . Just their probably not gunna call it that lol. You should watch the perks of being a wallflower, it’s a great depiction of mental health and one of best depictions of modern day high schoolers imo
31:04 31:06 Shut up Joy 😊😊😊 she's so annoying its almost as sadness can't have her own emotions 😢😢 I can't stand her sometimes ugh
u didn't do the ending credits 😢
I know!! Please forgive us! 🤣
Hi, watch The Simpsons Movie please, is one of my favorite movies, you will love it, The film was released on July 27 2007
Appreciate the recommendation!
Bud… bud, bud! Ya should be playing some mobile games depending on memory skills. Also, sleep is important.
Can you leave it on the litte circles? I get into the movie and everytime you talk the big one comes up & its annoying
Sorry. I couldn't listen to your reaction. The gentleman's mike feed seems to be overdriven. It sounds lie it's being driven into clipping. Maybe check your levels.
Please do a film reaction to Disney up too
Already recorded! Definitely be on the lookout 👀 soon!!
That would be Up from Pixar?
