I've seen kayakers in way worse trouble than that (on Lake Erie and Lake Superior). In both cases they were on their way to feeding the fish. BTW, I'm a kayaker too.

Well done to the skipper @4:30. EXACTLY the way to enter a harbour such as this. ALWAYS ride the back of the wave. Comfortable, in control and no-one is in danger. Most skippers blast in with "all ass and no class". It's not about getting somewhere as quickly as you can but as safely as you can. Always drive to the conditions.

Ok this is from a Rescue Technician’s point of view. Granted the kayakers should never gone in the canal. But the orange tow boat kept creating a wake slamming them into the rocks. He should have waited outside the rescue zone. The rescue swimmers were way late approaching from the canal this was what changed the rescue when they got into the water. To many agency’s and no command = cluster @#$*
Very disappointing to see Miami Dade Police @13:31 with 5 people on board and only one wearing a life preserver. What sort of standard are they setting? No wonder no-one wears a life jacket.
What the hell was that cop doing @14:40? He is supposed to be a first responder but does nothing and relies on a civilian to save the girl. Very bad form! He doesn't even ask if she is ok! He should be fired.
I’m not a kayak expert but those type of kayaks are more intended to flat calm water and to be able to kayak in those turbulent waters you gotta have a good shave since it’s very physical demanding right?!
I’ve watched hundreds of these videos,does the water get smoother the further out you go?Been boating all my life on lakes and rivers,not the ocean,fun to watch but looks like it will beat the shit out of you.
All those sit- on- tops are pure shit, burn them and buy a real kayak . Stay away from such rocks , especially when wind or stream stay on them . At the other side there is a sandstrand, start there and step out there .
