- Well here's some HOI4 singleplayer for you. Tommy has to take a break from multiplayer here and there, so we're gonna do some Austria-Hungary achievements. Like for example "Better than Szent Istvan" and "Miklos Horty and the Habsburg Prince". WOW amazing achievements Paradox. Keep it up, proud of you. Man, this was my first TommyKay video, haven't stopped since! Tommy and Markoni - you guys are the best! And Lisa, too!
I have to say the worst achievements are the Chinese ones. Basically world conquest 3x. I didn't have too hard of a time grinding the field marshal as communist china grinding the soviet union. The worst was the Battlecry one. The border wars and other issues are so bugged. One time, I was attacking the USSR, had about half of them taken but wasn't in a faction with Germany. Peace conference and Germany got everything BUT I could still build stuff in German territory I had held prior to the conference. It just took so long to expand as a warlord that having to fight all three factions was a real pain. Also, I'm pretty sure the AI cheats when you try to build support in an area through the ally with nationalist china branch and mechanics, ie not the border wars. They always countered it.
the china game we had on stream was so laggy, had to quit it. need to come back to it eventually
I've tried to do the restore Austria Hungary challenge for a long time. And you make it look so much easier

4:41 the reason you have a dockyard is because the provinces are spreading factorys and dockyards around in it's borders. I know it doesn't make sense with a dockyard in a river, but it is just a game

Idk about you guys but AI uk is easy to invade without a navy. Unless you go for Norway or Denmark they don’t put ships in the North Sea or eastern North Sea so you can just naval invade Hull and quickly take a bunch of victory point and split the country in half.

the game says you have a dockyard because you control a state that has one. Yet, you can't build ships because you don't own a province with a port

For the dockyard without acces to the sea, it might be because of the river. In my city (Nantes, France) we have an old MASSIVE dockyard, and the only acces to the ocean is by the river (the sea is like what, 60-80km away ?)
Ye. Budapest in Hungary actually has the same. The port is considered international waters even though its ~600km from the nearest ocean. Pretty ridiculous.
that weather is patheic 0:44 here in were i live(largest country in south america) it gets to 27c and thats not even the worst part usualy in summer it gets to 30c these are some rokkie numbers

I agree, requirements for this achievement are so freaking stupid. I can't even count how many tries I failed already. Because even if you are winning games will fock you up sooner or later with all factions going in war with you.
Wanna Austria? Referendum denied. You conquer them, protecting Czechoslovakia? They say fock you. If they don't it's because Germeny already have sudentenland (And border if freaking disgusting without suddets). Wanna take it easy? Take Poland first, so you don't need to go to war with USSR. You managed conquer Balkan, Italy and freaking Germany at once? Congratulations, but don't forget you still have claims in France and freaking Palestina or whatever. Also, did you forget Japan joined Axis? You still in war and it's not over till peace conference happens. You managed to land at Britain? Amazing. Btw, USA joined allies because all that shit you did which raised World tension. Btw, you didn't forgot British Raj is is major as well, did you?
tbh it triggers me that I have to give up sudtenland for optimal hungary eating. It's hella cute to let czechs build lvl 7 forts first than annex them to troll germany but you just troll yourself like when you play italy in MP but germany is a total noob.

Its one of the most annoying achievements in the game. I tried it like 20 times. What worked for me, is to take austria, chechoslovakia, romania and yugoslavia as early as pssible, so no guarantees, all the while keeping non aligned, and mass your troops next to germany (like a good 100-120 divisions) and dont give them sudetenland. Then wait until they go to war, and with a bit of luck, they will be able to annex the french, and take he needed polish lands and go to war with the soviets. Now you jump in against germany, fuck them up and get the polish lands and hopefully steal that one french province. Now all you need to do is invade palsetine, and join the comintern to wreck the allies. This is the only route i see to keep non aligned.
When in doubt, do planks for like an hour.
