We are starting off with a huge campaign into Europe followed by the biggest fight you will see. Out of this campaign, a lot of new things shall emerge... Well well it finally happened. A world conquest game on this channel, it took like 2.5 years for this but it happened.

Hey Tommy! About the achievement called « Nothing wrong with our bloody ships », it is a reference to admiral David Beatty who led the British battle cruisers fleet during the battle of Jutland in 1916. During the first hours of the battle, admiral Beatty’s battlecruisers fought against German battlecruisers and in order to increase the rate of fire of his ships, Beatty told his crews to stop respecting safety measures during combat, that means he allowed them to open the safety doors that protected the ammunition. Because of this, a hit would deal heavy damage to the ship and that’s what happened. A first British exploded after being hit by a German shell and since all safety doors were opened, the explosion and the fire caused by the shells had no problem spreading in the ship and get to the ammunition. After seeing three of his battlecruisers explode, he said: « What the hell is wrong with our bloody ships? »

You're right it was Beatty, not Jellicoe. He said this after Jutland, where three battlecruisers (Queen Mary, Indefatigable, and Invincible) got yeeted. Two of them from magazine explosions.

After the battle of Jutland during the first world war British Admiral Beatty allegedly said "there seems to be something wrong with our bloody ships today". During the battle the UK lost several of it's battlecrusiers seemingly out of nowhere due to catastrophic explosions. It was later found that this was primarily due to bad practices in ammo and cordite storage. The Brits would hold open doors with bags of the stuff to allow for faster movement around the turrets and therefore loading. This is obviously not great when you get hit. The achievement seems to be a clear nod and fuck you to that.
Edit: the portrait on the achievement itself is also of Admiral Beatty.

@@TommyKay if you wanted to know what that would look like take a look at the sinking of HMS Barham on RUclips. It was hit by torpedoes and began to capsize, the cordite in one of the rear magazines ignited shortly afterwards. Massive explosion. Scary stuff.

Idk if anyone told you but you asked about ‘nothing wrong with our bloody ships’. During the start of the battle of Jutland in the First World War the British ships were skirmishing with German ships until the main fleet could roll up but by misfortune they kept getting hit in places like ammo storage and what not which made them blow up and Beatty said ‘There seems to be something wrong with our bloody ships today’.

You should ally with Germany as quick as possible, then join their war again France and get both the Britzkrieg achievement and a nice amount of factories and a base of operations against germany in the future.

It would have been better to use US and Soviet manpower in colonial divisions early on, I saw your first stream and did the achievement myself and was completed by 1949 pretty much entirely bc I used so much subject manpower in my divisions. Not a totally fair comparison tho bc I wiped out 3 factions and that pretty much gave me complete control of North/Central America, Europe, and the middle east.
