True story: I trekked in Alaska for months and beaver stuctures are not only impressive, but also fun to look at. Sometimes you walk in the water only to realize you are part of their game, they swim aroubd your feet as if you are slalom poles. Some stucture are so enormous it will take you hours to navigate, it literally feel like a kingdom. Beavers have a place in my heart and I shall buy this game ;)
You think it is fun now, but when the beavers start to expand their beaver empire and turn the humans into thralls and make us build their dams.... its not so fun anymore, is it!
@@IsntTheInternetGreat I, for one, welcome our Beaver Lords and Saviors! I shall forever by their mindless thrall!
We should leave it to beavers.
When there's so many shit, disappointing and soulless AAA games coming out at the min, there's always little indie games like this to keep me going
Keep an eye on Eternal Cylinder, Against the Storm, the new Supraland game and Elex 2.
I only play indie games now, fullstop.
the game industry is truly in dire straits
I'm stopped caring about fancy gpus they not worth the money anymore to play the turds they call AAA games now I'm fine with indu
I mean yea the usual EA and Ubi shit deserves it but deathloop and tales of arise are apparently decent (playing through arise currently, it is fun but very anime so if you are allergic stay far away)
I like to keep my beavers separated by districts too.
I do the same in Dwarf Fortress it is very useful to split your fortress up into different districts and connect them with a logistics district to make sure everyone benefits from the fruits of other districts labor and you've got a stock pile in the event of "fun" happening in one district.
@@ValosarX Whoooooosh
aka... i got hoes, in different area codes
@@GamiGreen awww its a kinda innocent whoosh though
@@awakeandwatching953 Most wholesome whoosh 2021
Each time Mack says beaver, my grin grows wider.
hahahaha
Where is the music producer for the beaver remix?
Not one joke about getting beavers wet. You're slipping, Mack.
shit.....i just made that comment strolled down and saw your comment........you ruined my comment now.
@@weatherby1982 Great minds think alike.
Greetings, Blessed Pipeman
@@feelsbradman6793 Bless you, child.
Nothing will ruin a good time more than a dry beaver.
Not according to Ben Shapiro!
I can't wait to see your review for "Honey, I joined a cult" !
Ehhh that game is okay, its good but i dont think theres enough content yet and it seems that no matter what type of cult you start they all play the same way just different look but in the next year im sure theyll add a ton of content.
@@yancieb I totally agree with you :)
why is it even a thing
god damn cults everywhere i hate them 😠
@@Bluepenguin28 its called Religion.
i already have over 60 hours in this game. i absolutely love the vertical building aspect. setting up these tall mega structures is so cool.
also you should have mentioned you can create your own maps!
Ok, I'll be that nitpick guy: there's no electricity -- it's mechanical power.
city builder with beavers in which you...
say no more, Mack, it's already in my wishlist
"Dam, girl...
what did you think I was building?" - some beaver, probably.
Lol
I just noticed this game last night and I thought to myself "I hope Mack see this game and gives us a WAB on it soon".
You must have read my mind Mack! Nice one!
Wet Ass Beaver?
One thing that Mack left out that I think is important to note with it being early access is that the developers are active. The entire UI was recently updated and the result is what you see on the screen here.
I foresee the next game in line with this one being like the beavers from south park when Cartman goes to the future. Beavers on mounts and laser weapons , flying vehicles, Beavers on mech's......Imagine
I do like a bit of beaver.
I used to look at beavers 20min a day. Recently its been more like 4 hours a day.
went from looking at beavers for 2.01 minutes a day to 2 hours a day :)

Always love your stuff Mack. Thanks for your selfless work
It's not selfless tho ;-)
@@igorthelight technically it’s just cause he doesn’t sugar coat his reviews or pander to the companies to get free shit. He’s honest. But yea I smoke too much weed. Had to get that from. Selfless work
@@timmeh69er78 True!
I like his honesty!
Raccoons: Steal resources to build own city
These beaver innuendos have really been gnawing away at me.
Nice beaver......"Thanks, I just had it stuffed!"
Lovely game I played a demo when it was available. I recall drought being really tough back then so sounds like they made much needed changes to balance it out.
There are different difficulty levels now so you can choose your own challenge
I missed the demo but imagine that a super-drought would be put in place to stop players progressing too much. :P
Really loving your reviews. Great to hear a fellow geordie doing them too!
Mack: “If you like a bit of beaver….”
Tommy Lee Jones: “……..I don’t get it”
Me: “ding!”
I was hoping you would do a review on this. After I read the steam stuff I wish listed it right away. I like that it’s kinda more chill. I’ve been hoping you would review it. I really respect your work, keep at it.
It's actually pretty good. I got it on sale on steam
Haha adorable...
Doesn't look very innovative or tempting but I appreciate the idea.
Dam, now i want to see a top 5 city building games
Reject modernity.
Embrace Beaverton
This is the "Chipper & Sons Lumber Co." Scott Cawthon wanted to make
Never made a request before, but here is one. "The Witness" It's old now, but it's some of the best game design I've ever seen. My mind is blown away and I'm only 3 hours in. So many thoughts and ideas from the developer has gone in to that game. I think you'd enjoy it, even though it is a pussle game. But it opens your mind in terms of how much you can get out of a simple mechanic if you simply put your brain into it.
Just bought this one today are watching your review and gotta say it's such an awesome one especially for the price! Thanks for the excellent worth a buy recommendation!
As a Canadian, I feel obligated to try this out eventually
This actually looks and sounds really fun little game..
"Beavers for survival situations...Lets take a look"
Building up. Fantastic!
Depends on the beaver
Beaver jokes the whole video never got old. Love it
Bit of casual fun. Like the concept around beavers
Top 5? Nice. What's your other 4 besides going medieval? I've played that since the beta and love it
Thank you , Mak'
Looks interesting .
Nothing worse than a dry beaver. Keep ‘em damp boys. Keep those beavers hydrated.
This looks fantastic. What a great idea too.
If you don't get enough water, you'll be up a creek...
I like to keep my beavers moist. Thanks Mack for helping me with this.
Still waiting for a "Cult of the wind" revisit. (New bells may be required)
Saw a video on this game the day after it came out. Never heard of it before. Watched 10 minutes of the video and I was sold! Glad you reviewed this game to bring more light to it. It's pretty enjoyable and worth the money (especially if you get it on sale). Keep up the great work!
And they have a demo!
I just came by for the beaver.
Thanks for showing me this game Mac. I hadn't heard of it.
Love this game so far but the tutorial could definitely use some work
Mack would love to hear your opinion on War of Rights. Its an American Civil War simulator.
Hey, Mack! It's time for Kenshi now.
If there are beavers in game, it cannot be bad.
what would you say is the best city builder this year?
I was very disappointed that it didn't include floods and other disasters as well.
@5:01 - California governor needs to play and get good at this game...
updates still coming out, just looking into it
Awesome review. Thank you.
Have you tried out Patron or Foundation yet? Maybe we need a comparison video of all these different building games.
can you shave the beavers?
Got it, simple strategy: Beware of drought and keep them beavers wet!
I swear if you took Mack's advice on every game and bought everything he thumbed up you'd have like 60 city builders in your steam library
You'd have more 'tower defence' type games... but I wouldn't buy them anyway, I think they are boring af.
I was just looking at this on my steam page.
Mack try Against the Storm on Epic, there's a free playable demo and it's very good, much like Frostpunk
Nice one Mack, would you consider looking at Dorfromantik? It's not exactly new but if you like chill building its great, though it's more of a puzzle game.
I'd consider the game if they add a predator faction pack to add some more defense needs. To me the drought as the only threat is kinda... Not that intriguing to me, tho as is it's alright, but hopefully the sequel improve on that
Beavers love wood, from what I understand.
Not all beavers, Some beavers love other beavers.
Nobody wants to deal with a dry beaver.
Do windmills take 5X more energy to make than nuc's like irl?
does anyone know a simple city builder that isnt complicated to learn? or not many little things to learn?
Jurassic world evolution. Islanders.
I was waiting for your review on this one before i buy it. Now i will give it a try. Tx
Beavers, are they Worthabuy?
No such thing as a "free" beaver.
Sold.
Dry beaver= bad Wet beaver=good?
6:42 haha...
Just recently buy this game, its unique and fun to play
But Mac, can I park my Chevy at the Levy?
love a bit of beaver especially this game definitely worth a buy if you like these type of games 😎👍
I gotta hand it to you. You must have some superb focus to be playing all these complicated little games.
did that one beaver die from dehydration? x(
I like beavers
It's a decent game, but my only gripe is. After 4-ish hours. It just becomes extremely stale. No real reason to play (kinda like most city builders, but e.g. Cities Skylines has more push to make a city because of the many MANY things you unlock. This game just unlocks more of the same and in very little variety)
I like beaver but this is not what I was expecting
thnx for the review!
Could have been so much better if they had rabbit raiders they could have been called rabbit tea snorters
Mack you gotta mention that its EA earlier in the review, not right at the end, so people who have no interest in EA products can skip the review...
Is that some kind of new religion? :-)
Fame is 90% ready.
Post10 would love this.
Would you do a review of city of gangsgers?
I love a bit of beaver. 🦫
I'm getting on-board while the beaver colony sim is still a thing
I don't know why they didn't make the beavers live on a dam
no the game of the year is bird skating xD
Making a beaver happy would stress me into a panicked fit! Wth do beavers like?
Mack, you are the best reviewer ever
i like a bit of beaver
I love me some Beaver
Nice beaver!
The water looks awful but everything else looks great. I have to give this a try.
I found it quite tricky
Mack, are you going to review Eastward?
Everybody jumping now into this citybuilder train again, unfortunately these are all copy-paste games. Youve seen one, youve seen them all. Even as beavers, you should have some sort of enemy. Not just drough.
