  • Helloo there friends! This song was suggested by our pal Mark Levitt [aka
‪@comickaraoke‬ here on youtube and @wiggybloogy over on the twitters].
Mark, today is a 5 gold star day!
Dave really enjoyed this one. Toto + ‪@JanneSchafferOfficiell‬ ... he hears Zappa and Jeff Beck influences in this one and even compares this song to the Cobham Duke Band, which is high praise from our Dave.
Thanks for the great suggestion Mark!

Awesome, didn't think I'd see Janne Schaffer on here! He's very famous here in Sweden, he was a part of the Electric Banana Band as you saw on the Wiki page lol. My generation used to listen to their music a lot when we were kids. I guess that's where I first got introduced to funk music now that I come to think of it, I just didn't realize it was funk music back then. They have a lot of awesome music, quality music disguised as childrens music!

Jan is still around today. He’s done a lot of jazz/fusion stuff as well. Probably best known for for his studio guitar playing with ABBA. Thanks for the reaction guys. This was a great choice.

Dave should really get to experience Electric Banana Band. The kids really got to enjoy good music. I would suggest ”Zwampen” which has a fan made video to enjoy the old tv recordings and related photos. It’s a bit trippy. ruclips.net/video/g5pSaukyjEU/видео.html

There is a swedish saying ”Tungan rätt i mun” which is the eqivalent of ”Mind your Ps and Qs" like concentrate to perform, but translates to ”Keep your tongue straight in your mouth”. Janne is well known to have his tongue swirling his gums while jamming out. Janne also has a story about an upcoming reggae artist that they housed in the boiler room of the house he shared with other friends/artists. That boiler room saw the first recording of ”No woman no cry”.

These songs are recorded with the Porcaro family, just when they formed Toto.

Being a swede myself, this was surreal to see.

Great reaction! Glad Dave dug the tune. I just saw the tune randomly on "the youtube" and thought Dave my like the groove. Then, I saw that Janne played with Abba and also so the name Porcaro so thought would be interesting for Dave to dig into Yeah, that Janne Schaffer was an accomplished dude apparently and could definitely been a Bjorn Borg inpersonator in his youth. Here's a more modern rockin' one for Dave to check from the band, Demon's Down. It's the tune, I stand ruclips.net/video/hpD-o5wdD8o/видео.html
