Villainous foreigner : Well, you visit here and see for yourself instead of blindly believing what’s been fallaciously shown on the TV. Certainly there are few bad roads and hence most auto manufacturer increase the ground clearance of the same product sold elsewhere in the world. But the thing also is that India is an uber premium market for the automotive industry and hence almost every auto company bring their top spec version to India instead of confusing customers with various permutation and combination in engines and trim levels as in other markets. And that’s why it’s about time Volvo should have brought S60 to India by now. But before that, they really have to get reliable service network as well which is absolutely dud in India. And consumers here are pretty sensitive about and conscious of after sales service support as well.
The little clip on the windshield has been used by volvo much longer than skoda. Last real Volvo's were built before ford bought them. And any that are actually worth buying are pre 2007 model cars. I think that this is another great What Car review, being indepth, unbiased, positive and objective. Kindly note that my 2012 Volvo S60 R Design 2nd generation has the same plastic ticket holder on it's front windscreen. Is it therefore likely or known for certain that Volvo did in fact fit this facility on their cars before the Skoda ones which you mentioned? Surely for the entry models and above with this size, weight and automatic transmission to have 250bhp and a nought to 60mph acceleration time of less than 7 seconds, is no mean feat by any standards? Especially as the S60's derivatives other than the R Design with this same engine will be even more levelled at comfort too.
Arjen Kroos i never said it drives bad. It’s just that BMW is so boring inside and out, and there’s so many on the road so don’t really want a car that everyone else has got, but yes it drives nice. Nothing wrong with a corolla. But my daily driver is a Mercedes CLS63AMG if you must know.

I don't bother about some BMW or WMB series 3 or 100, I don't want to be added to family of stupid, aggressive drivers who makes BMW nasty reputation. I will rather drive Volvo and enjoy peaceful perception from other drivers. By the way Volvo build quality is the best, safety the best, comfort for driver best. Saying that Skoda Superb got more space, yes but got more space than BMW 3 too (if you are so obsessive about BMW). Volvo driver is someone who doesn't need to prove anything neither to itself or the others, something like Mazda drivers. If you are happy, balanced you are winner anytime no matter how many BMW lack of IQ drivers will pass you.
All style over substance, these cars rely heavily on their aesthetics but beauty is only skin deep. Poor engine line up, no 6 cylinder like BMW or even 5 cylinder as Volvos of yesteryear, plus very expensive price tag. Depreciation is also hard too on new Volvos. Plus some people will want a premium German badge for this price tag. Buying new you’d be crazy 🤭.
Paul Marsh 3 series 6 cylinder only comes in the M340i and M3 variant. So u can say that it’s a small niche segment that Volvo can’t be bothered to compete with. They were never known for driving fun anyway.
Plenty of substance. They last almost for ever if given a bit of tlc. My parents had one Volvo for 30 years and my elderly mum has recently stopped driving passing her 2004 V70 to my elder daughter. We can't find one spot if rust on it. Not everyone is power crazed and 4 cylinders is plenty for most. Volvo have committed to a maximum of 4 cylinders for the sake of the environment
Of course not , Volvo have been world leaders in safety since the year dot. the rest are catching up but not through choice but because the law demands it .

Road noise from the tyres is quite significant.
It’s about time that Volvo should have launched S60 in India as well.
Is there any real roads in India? Seems like a mess
I would like to see the condition of the car as a whole after 250k miles. My 05 is still looking good. The paintwork on those cars is above all others. Reliability wise - the old ones are far better.
My '07 S60 has the plastic thing holding tickets as well, Volvo has been doing this for quite some time.
It looks good, I like it
Please show us the storage compartments when talking about them.
The parking ticket clip was already in older Volvos as well. I have it in S40 from 2004 so it's nothing new.
I too have have the holder in my 2001 S60 T5 for hospital parking meter tickets. Here in Poland the S60 will beat the likes of Audi, BMW and Mercs from a Standing Start!
The S60 rear seats can fold forward.
Is it a real rival? No. It's completely destroying the BMW! 😂 😂
absolutely... unless you want a car that's good to drive or comfortable....
Polestar engineered comes with a completely different engine, so it's not really a trim level.
not at all really , it's about software and suspension and brake mods . certainly engineering is not trim :-)
I have a first model s60 phase 2 and that also has a screen clip, so skoda has it from volvo i think
It's not in the same league as the A4
it's competing with the A6
I think that this is another great What Car review, being indepth, unbiased, positive and objective.
Volvo 740 that was made early on the 80s also had the plastic ticket holder. Almost think it was Volvo that started with that. Have a nice day 😎👍
This guy is full of rubbish. I’ve driven this car and it’s awesome. Better than a boring 3 series. He needs sacking.
First person on earth to complain about BMW's driving pleasure.
You must be high and driving a Corolla thinking that it is a 3 series.
Your talking out of your backside. The 3 is a superb drive
Villainous foreigner ok sheep. Enjoy following the pack.
@@Ryan-jr2cv the reason why you think it's sheep is because the 3 is class leading and refined over 48 years. I'm sorry I bet you haven't even sat inside a 3 before. No chance Chinese Volvo will ever outdrive a 3
If you're gonna compare costs with the 3 series then maybe you should also take the cost of services and parts into the equation. suddenly, the BMW is a lot less wallet-friendly.
The Volvo S60 and BMW 3 series have to be my favourite saloon cars ... this review is horrible tho very disappointing whatcar ..
Volvo can bring so many new models onto the market because they are generously funded by Chinese Geely.
Also using the same engine and tranny? on all models
@@alanOHALAN Same platform, engine, and transmission on all models. I'm not actually sure why they bother with the twin-charging arrangement on the T6, though; the competition seems to be getting better performance from similar displacement engines using a single turbo. Lighter, less complex, faster.
Quoted 0-60mph in 6.3seconds, not 6.9. Also, do you own a BMW 3 Series ...
Does the average saloon buyer really need a car that can do 0-60mph faster than 6.9 seconds?
here in Brisbane Australia, parking is all digitalised, no need to display your parking ticket... seems odd volvo would bother in this technological age
they deleted the clip last year !
Is the mpg bad tho?
I average just over 25MPG and I’m using Polestar/Dynamic mode 80% of the time.,
What is up with all these new cars and the Piano Gloss.
Nice car , shame it has no diesel. Because of this , not an option for me!!
Why ? I am getting 33mpg commuting locally 👍
even gas heating and cooking is being phased out in UK in the coming years
Controlling everything with a touchscreen is stupid you can't do that while driving, my 2003 S60
I know where things are without looking
Livesinthe Shadowsofthenight yeah but youre not supposed to do that either way, safety you know. It’s worth to mention that Volvo has voice command that will change settings for you
If you are going to pick a fake name, don't choose Revolta
Stop saying 3 series damn it!!
agree with all the posts on parking clips something so minimal should get facts straight
Parker ticket thing has been There for about 10 years not new
38 actually !
O have the new s90 r design pro D5 and trust me it's and amazing car, this guys is embarrassing!
Doug? Quirks and features
It's the best looking car in its class, and I say that as an Audi fanboi, but that's about the only thing it outrivals its competitors in.
Im not sure about the comparison. I don't think it's premium model better to compare it with mazda or volkswagen
I hope you're joking
@@iso-pebe this is what I feel about interior
Back is bmw front is audi
Funny, other video heads have a much more favorable review all around for this car.
Oh, does Doug drive a 3 series by any chance?, or do BMW bankroll what car?
So biased towards the German default options, and not even a mention to other contenders like the jaguar XE?
I believe “ 3 series” was mentioned more times than the car being reviewed , and the Volvo 0-60 in 6.9 sec, BMW (new) 320i 7.1 to sixty! Who’s embarrassed now?
Volvo always had that clip for tickets ;)
Terrible review. Best infotainment center I’ve experienced. Test drive one and this guy is hands down wrong.
All Volvos look the same????? Are you sure? I think you need glasses!
He's wrong. That was a really dumb comment.
@@jdfd4906 That is very true.
Paul Marsh but they are great value to lease
Great review. A very handsome looking car...such a pity about the ride quality.
try it yourself before you condemn it 👍
What no Voice control?
he didnt even mention the voice control button
Had 1 while my 335d 2007 was in for bodywork couldn't wait to get mine back boring as fuck.
But is a BMW safer than a Volvo in comparison ?
Of course not , Volvo have been world leaders in safety since the year dot. the rest are catching up but not through choice but because the law demands it .
My 2000 Volvo v70 got this.... So not New thing..
Saab had the ticket clip in the 9-5 when it was introduced in 1998... that’s 21 years ago. Maybe before this presenter was born or went to school so I’m not surprised he didn’t know.
volvo invented the ticket holder in 1981 :-)
Lexus still tops the build quality over this.. but it does look good.
Just what I had in my mind. Lexus's quality is on par with Audi, except for the metal like plastic trim on dash and central console, infotainment.
Lexus IS the best
But Lexus body structure and body panels are very soft typical japanese soft metal used in the making
So wait? Is that a 5 cylinder? As it's saying t5 on the rear
It is a four cylinder
@@Leffe123 Well that's massively misleading and just stupid. This is why I love the old volvos. Like the 850 t5 and the v70s
@@mabskha7917 T5 is no longer a cylinder rating but a power range .. it changed 10 years ago , keep up :-)
@@nickclark6001 just realised this. Such a shame thou as I think nothing beats the sound of the 5pot turbo Volvo sound.
Love Volvo, but their styling on their saloon range seems a bit flat... not as exciting as their SUVs / estates. Who agrees?
Haha for me its the opposite, i think the s60 is the best looking volvo by far.
bmw 3 2020 already looks too old and fuking boring to look at it
whats the difference between 2014 and 2020 bmw 3
nothing
so this car is better look 10 times better than bmw 3
Volvo and not been reliable as u say🤣😂 Go get a life brother or a bmw 3 series
Nice front and side view, ugly back and boring interior. 3 series and c class r nicer
Nice car but boring
If you want to buy?... 😂😂😂...don't you mean lease, PCP etc
IT'S A KNURLING!!!!! 😂😂😂
Please never ever drive a volvo again thanks! go review German cars
Finnaly a decent volvo
pfffff.... no d5 engine
