Theres more emotion and tension in these few minutes than in any of the Disney films. They should let the guys who make the clips for the video game write and direct the movies.
This cinematic trailer, having stolen essentially all of the ideas from just about every other thing in entertainment, like the Justified TV show and even previous Star Wars movies, for example, with the already too Solo-esque 'bounty hunter' character (c'mon? 'she's pretty but tough'? HAHAHAHA Like the Falcon, right?) Don't get me started on the rest of the cheesy fucking on-the-nose dialogue. The fight even had the same score as the one as at the end of Phantom Menace. It even had a double-bladed lightsaber-wielding villain engaging in an equally over-choreographed fight providing no emotional attachment to anything on screen. They just supplied all of their jedi/Sith characters with about a million lightsabers. I'm surprised they didn't all just have two double bladed lightsabers each, and another one clutched between their butt cheeks. It's just like an 8-year-old who loves 'lightsabers - and shooting - and explosions' thought it up. It may look kinda 'cool', but all the money was spent on the CG, by the look of things. I hope the movies are considerably better than this.
Ahoy M80s indeed, the prequel trilogy perfected almost everything the original trilogy was developting such as special effects (although the practical effects are still priceless) and the lightsaber fight, which they took inspiration from japanese swordfighting style.

If you play the video game you know who all of them are. Sith Lord Vindican and Darth Malgus came to stop Jedi Battlemaster Kao Cen Darach and Satele Shan from escaping the space station. Captain Nico Okarr agreed to help the Jedi escape. The Republic Trooper fighting with them is Jace Malcom.

Think about it. you're a smuggler who has two blaster pistols. Standing in front of you is a Jedi master who can fight off two sith at once and his apprentice is so powerful that she can grab a lightsber blade. Behind you is a fully armored old rebublic army corpral with a laser gatling gun, who is flanked by two other troopers. And you are in the middle of a space station filled with other troopers. Would you draw your pistols and try to escape?

While the Sith can use their rage to tank damage, the Jedi are able to use the environment to their advantage. Another major difference is that the Sith gain power by slaughtering their victims, while the Jedi can heal themselves through meditation. All in all, there's no clear advantage to either side, as they would likely be balanced depending on whether or not said class of Jedi/Sith is a warrior instead of a healer. While Jedi Consulars are not as proficient in terms of swordsmanship, they are able to support their brothers and sisters by healing them and buffing them defensively.
If Disney can replicate this kind of action while still keeping the mysticism, drama, and deep philosophical stuff in the new movies, I'll be beyond pleased.
I hope we can expect similar choreography in the upcoming films. Although it was a terrible movie, the final fight in the phantom menace was absolutely amazing. My favorite fight is still Luke vs Vader in empire strikes back though always!
ironically enough, as shit as the phantom menace was it had the best lightsaber duel out of all 6 movies tbh. they were evenly matched unlike in the originals, had nice flowing cheography (but not too much), but most importantly it actually looked like they were fighting. they were throwing punches, kicks, and sometimes throughout the fight it actually looked like they really fucking hated each other (especially obi wan. he came very close to giving in to the dark side after qui gon died). these are all things that ep. II and III horribly lacked in.
There were really only two great things about this game, and they're experiencing the SW universe as a non force user, and being able to be a full on Sith lord. _Not only that but a light side Sith as well._

The part that I liked the most was that the Battlemaster would've gone to the final fight with the sith with just one blade, not even requesting the staff from his apprentice. It was clear that he needed it in the fight, but still he would've fought without it without blinking an eye.
Captain Nico Okarr agreed to help the Jedi escape from the space station. They gave him back his custom blaster pistols so that he could defend himself.
And even if they gave those guns back. why the hell did he storage the guns and use them later on knowing they get attacked in a few seconds. this make no sense and that is the reason i think they didnt disarm him.
You are joking right??? The Jedi were taking Nico Okarr to a holding cell. He did NOT have his custom blaster pistols with him. The Jedi and the Republic Troopers were clearing the way to the hanger. The fighting was a lot longer than what you see in the video. Captain Nico Okarr might have had his blaster pistols in his hands. He holstered his pistols when they got closer to the hanger with Redshifter in it. The Jedi were busy with the Sith Troopers in the hanger. The Republic Troopers were hit. There were Sith Troopers coming from the other side so Captain Nico Okarr grabbed his blaster pistols and killed them.
If they next Star Wars film is as kick-ass as this trailer then Disney would have done a fantastic job! In reality, we're all expecting it to be shit but I hope that we're knocked on our asses by it's awesomeness!
Let's pray the story and characters in the new movie will be as entertaining as what's shown in this trailer. But I think Disney will play it conservative to draw in a large diverse audience with the intended affect of generating as much revenue as possible at the expense of a good narrative.
An entire set of lore already exists for after the original trilogy (4, 5, and 6) and it's actually really good. Let's hope Disney either uses that or the Old Republic era.
***** To be fair, almost every other mmo out there runs the them same way. Go here, 1-10 until everything is dead or your able to pick eyes or what ever. It's the story that makes Old republic good. The game itself, though fun at times, is lacking. On the note of story.. So much money could be made turning the The Old republic era into a series of movies.. The story of the game isn't really that good to note. It uses a shit ton of cliches in every story and the characters always feel so flat and two dimensional. You also cannot say anything about the new star wars movies until they come out. Only then will we see if they are good or bad.
the only thing that is bad about this game is that those troopers (same goes for the dark side troopers) look way too much like clones and stormtroopers, which is impossible, for that type of armour was invented on Kamino specially for the clones, and was based on Jango Fett's armour, and the stormtrooper armour is just based on the 2nd generation clone armour, which was just a more efficient and more comfortable version of the 1st generation clone armour.

Not necessarily. The armor that the clones and Jango Fett wore were modeled after traditional Mandalorian armor. That style of armor had already been around for several thousand years by the time that the clones were created.

The Celestials, if I remember correctly, used centerpoint to focus the gravity of two worlds while it floated in a Lagrange point between the two, and, in effect, used massively scaled up repulsorlift technology. The kicker being that they could repulsor through hyperspace, which is pretty darned cool.

because the shields can prevent blaster bolts and non physical things such as air from coming in or escaping but it does not prevent physical objects such as a space ship or crates or my favorite people from being able to come out however not by force the only way they can come out is if they jumped out or something but the air is still trapped in hope that answers these are normal shields shields that keep all things out are called blast shields. Nah that's incorrect cause the mag field is used to keep vacuum and atmosphere in. Plus most things have ray and particle shield which stops both energy and physical objects.

well there was a time gap between the time where they started to the time when they reach the hanger to get his guns back. They also could have been carrying his guns the entire time and gave it back to him when he offered to help.
Why is the Sith always portrayed as evil? I mean Sith are just different. Jedi believe in hugs and love and all of that mushy stuff and Sith believe in order and following the rules. I think Sith are more honest than Jedi. True a Sith is not going to ever engage in a group hug or give you a big sloppy kiss but they will most likely tell you that you suck and they are going to kill you than smile in your face and quote some silly Jedi fluff then laugh as soon as you are out of ear shot. Think of the Sith as the tough love people and the Jedi as the "I want to be your friend people". And while friendship is nice and all it is much better to tell her that she looks fat in that dress than to tell her that the force will make her look thin. Also stop taking everything so personal. Most people are screwed by their governments already. So when the Sith show up and claim your planet you will not be any more oppressed than you already are. The only real difference is that now you have off world opportunities to labor for the Sith rather than being stuck in your same old boring routine. And if you make an effort to become proficient in the force you can even work your way up to Sith Lord and go back and oppress your former boss... or kill him. There is not good and there is no even it is all a matter of perception. Light side and dark side/ No there is no light side and dark side really it is all a matter of how you handle it. You have a choice to do things that make the world happy or things that make you happy. In short the Sith are no more evil than the Jedi. The Sith is just more result driven.

When you look at Sith history it is easy for me to understand why they seek power. remember their saying that power leads to freedom. I don't remember the whole thing but the jest of it is that if you have power it leads to victory and blah blah and freedom. The Sith was created when the Jedi enslaved a primitive species, raped them and made force sensitive babies. SO the Jedi only has themselves to blame for the existence of the Sith. The Sith learned like any other slave that chanting and singing does not lead to freedom. They learned that only through power can any people be free. And because there was no one to guide them they became what they are now. For the Sith there were no saviors, there was no knights in shinning armor. They had to fight for their freedom and struggle to keep the Jedi from covering up their dirty little secret. Yes yes yes this is a game but still when you read the history of the Sith you can understand why they must fight the Jedi. Hopefully an alliance with the Voss will help the Sith evolve. But wait? The Voss was also created by the Jedi. Yes the Jedi invaded their world too and the ones who follow the Jedi became Voss and the ones who rejected them because Gormak. So the Jedi has really been a plague that has spread across the galaxy like a swarm rats with light speed jet packs, raping, enslaving and tampering with the development of primitive worlds. The Jedi gets no Sympathy from me.

If you play the game for endgame content you need to subscribe. Not exacly pay to win, since you can't even do anything endgame as a F2P. There is so much potential in making a fully animated Movie with this story or the story of Revan. Instead you go on creaping the shit out of the Saga with games like The old Republic. We have no idea who any of these people are, why they're fighting, or why we should care. That's a terrible setup for any fight scene.

Virideon This is a Promotional Video for a video game. Anybody that understands Star Wars knows what is happening. The Sith Empire returned and they want power. The Jedi fight to keep the peace.
If you play the video game you know who all of them are. Sith Lord Vindican and Darth Malgus came to stop Jedi Battlemaster Kao Cen Darach and Satele Shan from escaping the space station. Captain Nico Okarr agreed to help the Jedi escape. The Republic Trooper fighting with them is Jace Malcom.
Virideon Most people were able to get that he didn't mean note-for-note copy. He meant the general action and tempo of the fight.
Also, if you know KOTOR, you know who at least one of those people is.

Think about it. you're a smuggler who has two blaster pistols. Standing in front of you is a Jedi master who can fight off two sith at once and his apprentice is so powerful that she can grab a lightsber blade. Behind you is a fully armored old rebublic army corpral with a laser gatling gun, who is flanked by two other troopers. And you are in the middle of a space station filled with other troopers. Would you draw your pistols and try to escape?
I can only hope the Sith are this awesome in episode VII.

While the Sith can use their rage to tank damage, the Jedi are able to use the environment to their advantage. Another major difference is that the Sith gain power by slaughtering their victims, while the Jedi can heal themselves through meditation.
All in all, there's no clear advantage to either side, as they would likely be balanced depending on whether or not said class of Jedi/Sith is a warrior instead of a healer.
While Jedi Consulars are not as proficient in terms of swordsmanship, they are able to support their brothers and sisters by healing them and buffing them defensively.

ironically enough, as shit as the phantom menace was it had the best lightsaber duel out of all 6 movies tbh. they were evenly matched unlike in the originals, had nice flowing cheography (but not too much), but most importantly it actually looked like they were fighting. they were throwing punches, kicks, and sometimes throughout the fight it actually looked like they really fucking hated each other (especially obi wan. he came very close to giving in to the dark side after qui gon died).
these are all things that ep. II and III horribly lacked in.

The part that I liked the most was that the Battlemaster would've gone to the final fight with the sith with just one blade, not even requesting the staff from his apprentice. It was clear that he needed it in the fight, but still he would've fought without it without blinking an eye.

You are joking right??? The Jedi were taking Nico Okarr to a holding cell. He did NOT have his custom blaster pistols with him. The Jedi and the Republic Troopers were clearing the way to the hanger. The fighting was a lot longer than what you see in the video. Captain Nico Okarr might have had his blaster pistols in his hands. He holstered his pistols when they got closer to the hanger with Redshifter in it. The Jedi were busy with the Sith Troopers in the hanger. The Republic Troopers were hit. There were Sith Troopers coming from the other side so Captain Nico Okarr grabbed his blaster pistols and killed them.
Boi 2:37 that entrance and the way he ignites his lightsaber, is so badass. Holy.
If they next Star Wars film is as kick-ass as this trailer then Disney would have done a fantastic job! In reality, we're all expecting it to be shit but I hope that we're knocked on our asses by it's awesomeness!
Let's pray the story and characters in the new movie will be as entertaining as what's shown in this trailer. But I think Disney will play it conservative to draw in a large diverse audience with the intended affect of generating as much revenue as possible at the expense of a good narrative.
An entire set of lore already exists for after the original trilogy (4, 5, and 6) and it's actually really good. Let's hope Disney either uses that or the Old Republic era.

You sit there and press a key from 1-10 to attack, and then they just throw you at whatever you had seen in movies or heard of.
***** To be fair, almost every other mmo out there runs the them same way. Go here, 1-10 until everything is dead or your able to pick eyes or what ever. It's the story that makes Old republic good. The game itself, though fun at times, is lacking. On the note of story.. So much money could be made turning the The Old republic era into a series of movies.. Instead.. we have Disney flushing Any and all cannon, even movie cannon, down the toilet. Not saying the movies will suck, It's just kinda disrespectful to throw decades of rich history away so you can make it easier to make a buck.
The story of the game isn't really that good to note. It uses a shit ton of cliches in every story and the characters always feel so flat and two dimensional. You also cannot say anything about the new star wars movies until they come out. Only then will we see if they are good or bad.

the only thing that is bad about this game is that those troopers (same goes for the dark side troopers) look way too much like clones and stormtroopers, which is impossible, for that type of armour was invented on Kamino specially for the clones, and was based on Jango Fett's armour, and the stormtrooper armour is just based on the 2nd generation clone armour, which was just a more efficient and more comfortable version of the 1st generation clone armour.

Not necessarily. The armor that the clones and Jango Fett wore were modeled after traditional Mandalorian armor. That style of armor had already been around for several thousand years by the time that the clones were created.

The Celestials, if I remember correctly, used centerpoint to focus the gravity of two worlds while it floated in a Lagrange point between the two, and, in effect, used massively scaled up repulsorlift technology. The kicker being that they could repulsor through hyperspace, which is pretty darned cool.

I dunno, I got the impression that while the jedi were more numerous, the sith were pretty good at gathering ordinary soldiers/warriors/mercenaries to their cause.
Like, your average sith is a way better leader and strategist than your average jedi(if prone to the occasional and unprovoced psychotic act from time to time).

because the shields can prevent blaster bolts and non physical things such as air from coming in or escaping but it does not prevent physical objects such as a space ship or crates or my favorite people from being able to come out however not by force the only way they can come out is if they jumped out or something but the air is still trapped in hope that answers these are normal shields shields that keep all things out are called blast shields. Nah that's incorrect cause the mag field is used to keep vacuum and atmosphere in. Plus most things have ray and particle shield which stops both energy and physical objects.
that rings a very vague bell one this is bioware so maybe there just ignorant of tiny details like that two maybe they destroyed the mag field (if its possible) and three maybe this era didnt have mag fields yet (thats a huge guess old republic era is not my forte but it seems interesting)

Why is the Sith always portrayed as evil? I mean Sith are just different. Jedi believe in hugs and love and all of that mushy stuff and Sith believe in order and following the rules. I think Sith are more honest than Jedi. True a Sith is not going to ever engage in a group hug or give you a big sloppy kiss but they will most likely tell you that you suck and they are going to kill you than smile in your face and quote some silly Jedi fluff then laugh as soon as you are out of ear shot.
Think of the Sith as the tough love people and the Jedi as the "I want to be your friend people". And while friendship is nice and all it is much better to tell her that she looks fat in that dress than to tell her that the force will make her look thin.
Also stop taking everything so personal. Most people are screwed by their governments already. So when the Sith show up and claim your planet you will not be any more oppressed than you already are. The only real difference is that now you have off world opportunities to labor for the Sith rather than being stuck in your same old boring routine. And if you make an effort to become proficient in the force you can even work your way up to Sith Lord and go back and oppress your former boss... or kill him.
There is not good and there is no even it is all a matter of perception. Light side and dark side/ No there is no light side and dark side really it is all a matter of how you handle it. You have a choice to do things that make the world happy or things that make you happy.
In short the Sith are no more evil than the Jedi. The Sith is just more result driven.
Sith seek more power all the time. That's what leads to their downfall, the constant need for more power.
hell, the jedi order tends to be about as harsh as the sith when it comes to -any- other force using traditions that they dont agree with, their view of the force is the only one allowed, at least until luke becomes grandmaster of the order, then they tend to be much less stupid good
When you look at Sith history it is easy for me to understand why they seek power. remember their saying that power leads to freedom. I don't remember the whole thing but the jest of it is that if you have power it leads to victory and blah blah and freedom. The Sith was created when the Jedi enslaved a primitive species, raped them and made force sensitive babies. SO the Jedi only has themselves to blame for the existence of the Sith. The Sith learned like any other slave that chanting and singing does not lead to freedom. They learned that only through power can any people be free. And because there was no one to guide them they became what they are now. For the Sith there were no saviors, there was no knights in shinning armor. They had to fight for their freedom and struggle to keep the Jedi from covering up their dirty little secret. Yes yes yes this is a game but still when you read the history of the Sith you can understand why they must fight the Jedi. Hopefully an alliance with the Voss will help the Sith evolve. But wait? The Voss was also created by the Jedi. Yes the Jedi invaded their world too and the ones who follow the Jedi became Voss and the ones who rejected them because Gormak. So the Jedi has really been a plague that has spread across the galaxy like a swarm rats with light speed jet packs, raping, enslaving and tampering with the development of primitive worlds. The Jedi gets no Sympathy from me.

That way, multiple weaker Sith wouldn't team up to take down a Master and compromise the power of the Order. I have all of the Star Wars films, don't remember the last time I watched them all - maybe about 2 years, but I still don't see the "butthurtness".
Sure there were cheesy scenes, bad acting and dumb choices of many characters, but I don't care, I like all of them - the only thing I and many people (maybe not the majority, but still) want to see lazer guns blazing as jedi/sith warriors do ohmehgerd moves as I hear millions "Weow" "Wum Wum" Noises, the things that brought me to the series in the first place as a child!
Good characters are cool, but I would love to have more lightsabers and lazer guns and faceless marine clones, pew pew pew, maybe even a game lol, one that doesn't suck like the Force Unleashes series, which not only had bad character design but also had bad gameplay and swordfighting which is what I'm intrested in.

Even in a game, how many hours can you endure flashy, pointless eye candy? 2 hours? 4? before you get bored out of your skull. Look at sw:kotor, it went f2p for christ sake. The opening cinematics for TOR were made by Blur Studio, they are a CGI company, they done tons of work for various games/films/adverts.
