    ---
Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

6:53 - Watch his swing here in slow motion, and you'll see how the best generate lag. Padraig Harrington calls this leaving the hands behind, in one of his latest videos. I practiced this, and gained both better trajectory and several yards of distance. I kept my lead side, including the hands, more in front of the ball at impact, and increased lag (speed). I went from short knocker 200 yard drives to still short knocker at 230, but I'll take whatever I can get. It's an abdominal crunch mixed with a stretch on the lead side all in one move. Very powerful. Still working on making it better. Enjoying the process.

It was Palmer that took golf out of the country clubs and turned it into an everyman's game with his swashbuckling style. It was 'Arnie's Army' who massed the golf courses just to get a glimpse of their hero. I know, I was there. It was then that media deals exploded and the purses for winning a championship went upward. It was then that the PGA Tour exploded with nearly weekly events. It was then that the idea of winning The Grand Slam became a mythical quest, which Palmer named and sought. And it was the 'Big Three' of Palmer, Nicklaus, and Player who supercharged the sport. It was then that public golf courses swelled with players of kinds, and people of all ages played golf. Before all of that, golf was only for the wealthy few. Palmer changed that.

I'm almost 60 years old so I grew up watching the big 3. But I never wanted to play until Tiger and took up the game at the age of 37. Right now he plays a tournament and then doesn't play another tournament until about 6 months later so maybe 2 tournaments a year Right now. He needs more tournaments under his belt to get back to the old Tiger.
