Sunline should feature this video on their website, because no one has ever done a better breakdown of their specific products then you did right here, period!
This was by far the best video I've ever watched!! I've been racking my brain on these lines and I finally understand it!! I appreciate y'all so much for making this video!!
I definitely understand floro better from a construction standpoint after this video. I didnt realize it was the coating type and quality that really set it apart from one another. Good stuff man!
22lb SHOOTER IS THE GOSPEL! I've landed 35lbs yellowtail in kelp while fishing for calico bass. I had to break it once," just to know it was possible". And believe me when I say that when it finally popped , it sounded like a gunshot!
Finally someone is talk about Sunline Fluorocarbon and in English as well. All I hear is seaguar, seaguar, and seaguar. One day, I walked into bait and tackle shop and found this sunline, I decide to give it a try. I'm very very impress by it. Saw they use a lot of sunline in Japan though but not much in America beside the seaguar fishing line.
I like stretchy line for chatter baits cause it makes the bait stall after I yank it out of the grass instead of shooting off really quickly- which gets me more bites I think, especially right now when they're not real aggressive. I want it to pop free of the grass cleanly but, then stall out- gives the fish time to see it and react. I have a mod/ fast action rod that's perfect for it. I gotta get over this depression and get back to fishing- my dog died, I think. She bolted after a deer and never came back. She was my fishing buddy and really my only companion, I miss her. You can't take the hunt out of a hunting dog though- she was a beagle, it was in her blood and even though I kept her inside and pampered her she was hell bent and determined she was going to hunt. I turned my back for a minute and she managed to jump a deer up right here by my house- and she was gone. I tracked them about 2-3 miles into the mountains but, I didn't have a gun or any gear and it was getting dark. Tried to go back out the next morning but it rained all night- and I'm not that good of a tracker, I couldn't find their trail again. Makes me really feel for ppl who have a loved one missing- not knowing what happened really sux.
If your looking into Sunline products be prepared to spend some bread.Stuffs not cheap. That being said their product line is exceptional. Been using it for 20+years . Shooter or sniper for finesse applications and bottom contact baits. Sniper in 25/30lb for baits above 3ounces. But for moving baits,Sunlines Shooter defier mono is the clear choice. Sunline had a product called "machine gun cast" that was good but it had either been removed or just got hard to obtain. But I hear its making a comeback . I absolutely love both the shooter and sniper, but the defier mono is truly unrivaled and miles above anything else I've ever used, and I've tried countless brands both domestic and foreign.
Scheels sells Sunline sniper for $36.99 a spool, 200 yards for $36..99. I fish the Sunline super all season and It's great , I buy it in bulk spools even.
I'm a huge seaguar guy, but I have a spool of 20 lb sniper that might get tested sometime soon... Also as far as that sniper invisible goes with strength, the natural hue of fluoro is a light yellow (they added dye, not removed in this case), but us Americans don't trust it so they bleach it which weakens the line slightly hence why so many fluoros are weaker than you'd imagine. (Ex seaguar tatsu has a yellow hue and tends to be stronger than other fluoros of similar diameter)
I drop thru cedar trees as deep as 20 feet. Which line would be the best for Texas rigged creature baits with 1/4 to 3/8 weight and a 7'2 heavy 4/0 flipping hook
the super flouro in my experience has been better for me than sniper, that kvd line conditioner will have a spool last me a month or so on my most used setups, also great video as always guys 🤙
Just seen your video on RUclips about the sunline fluorocarbon line, is fluorocarbon good for trout fishing? I have one rod just for powerbait and a second rod for spoons, small crankbaits, and small jerkbaits. My second question is I do a lot of finesse jig, Texas rig, lipless crank mostly for ponds and reservoirs what line size you recommend? Third and final question is that I have bought a bunch of swimbaits from you guys, 1oz is the heaviest I have, which size and line you recommend? Thank you once again for the video I learn a lot from them. If anyone else wants to chime in you’re more than welcome to.
Any chance you could recommend a Braid to Flouro Leader setup for my Megabass Lavante Diablo for dedicated use for Swimbaits, Swimjigs, Vibrating jigs and an occasional Texas Rig. My initial thought was 40lb Smackdown to 16lb Snipper leaders but now wondering since that rod seems more on the stiffer side would you say thats a good application for the Sunline Dostrike as leader or not and am I even on right track for setup AND use of this rod?
Best line for Chatterbaits and lipless crank baits on a Shimano Expride B 7’2” MH Glass with a Curado DC 7.4:1? Right now planning on using 20lb sniper like Bret Hite
Been using sunline natural 12 to 14lbs since 2019 never had a bad experience with it. I live in south Florida I love to throw weightless flukes what line you recommend.
I notice the fc sniper that you first showed, in stores shelves, it is spooled badly. But when you get the others, i.e fc shooter/invisible it is spooled uniform and perfectly on.
Awesome info. How would you compare the assassin and the shooter overall? I’m a user of another brand I haven’t been satisfied with and I just watched a video of Gman using a 2 line system between shooter and sniper. Just wondering if I should do the same with sniper/shooter or sniper/assassin depending on how shooter and assassin compare
I use braid to fluoro on some of my rods and like using sniper for it, I store it in the package, dry and out of the sun, should I worry about a “shelf life” ?
FC Sniper is my favorit for Finess Spinninggear 4lb, BMS Azayaka 8lb is great for small crankbaits for anything else i use Seaguar R18 Bass Fluoro is cheaper and you get 240m spools for around 20$ bucks
These are by far my favorite videos. Lucky craft LV, jerkbait and now the sunline breakdown are so informative. Thank you. Does the sniper spool well on spinning reels, ie is it manageable? Max lb test on spinning reels??
That is so many I only use 20# fc sniper for all my big bait setups tried seagarr abrazx was good but I trust my sniper Great Info Brother!!! Cheers!! :))
I use cranking on both my crank and chatterbait rods cause theyre both a little heavy for the abllication in the terms of power and i gotta tell you that shit is strong, snagging a bait means you're going in cause that shits not breaking off, at least in my experience! and line conditioner is a god send because it allows the line to last so much longer.
@@urbanfinessefishing definitely depends on depth of water and time of year but I’m during the winter time like this all around I use 14lb and in heavy cover I’ll use 17 max just cause I feel the bait is moving so much slower than in warmer weather months so the see or feel the line I’ll even go down to 12lb if I feel presence that paranoid about it but during the warm weather days 16 for sparse and 20 or 22 sniper for heavy cover
Hey man! It all depends on how good/bad I cast :). I use the KVD line conditioner religiously, so it’ll extend the life of my line pretty much forever. However, if I’m back lashing a lot, the line will get kinks in it, and then I’ll have to respool it.
@@thehookuptackle_usa thank you for the guidance, to be specific the rod I’m having issues with is a 6’8” medium bassX from st. Croix, are those guides micro? By the way loving the new website👊
The JDM Shooter/Sniper FC (Invisible, BMS, and regular clear all same line diameter per lb test) is definitely a different formulation from the USDM Super FC Sniper. If you compare same lb test, the line diameters are different. Here in South Korea, we get the Shooter / Sniper FC (which I use for all my mainline applications, ~ $40 / 300m spool) and Sunline BASIC which is the cheaper / lower end FC and it costs ~ $15 for a 300m spool.
I’ve wanted to try crank fc for my jerkbait setup. Have y’all ever done that? Also does colored fluorocarbon appear underwater or because of the refraction, does it still act like clear line?
I’ve never used crank FC for jerkbaits. I could see it being useful if your rod is on the stiffer side (that’s what she said). The claim is that colored fluoro is less visible underwater.
Good Info. For your info. Patents are for inventions. iPhone swipe is a patent. Copyright is for music, text pictures etc. TRADEMARKS are for names. For example: you should trademark hookup tackle so no one can make a shirt with it. It is first use only so get on it. If it gets diluted you no longer have the right to the Mark.
Do to your recommendation I did pick up some Sniper 7lb. for a spinning rod to jig fish Walleye’s on the Mississippi River and so far it has been fine but the ice just went off. Planning to get more water time this week. On a bait casting Rod I have been using Berkeley XL in 17lb for Northern Pike I have liked it for casting distance and the stretch when a large Northern Pike hits like a freight train. So far my largest is 47 inches in Canada. I have never needed a stronger line even in cabbage weeds I can still pull them out. What would recommend for a line to replace my Berkeley XL ? Thanks
I would FC Sniper! If you want to compare apples to apples, go by line diameter, and not the rating on the box. For instance, your 17lb Berkeley is likely going to be equivalent to 20-22lb sniper
"Dostrike" refers to an ippon or point in Kendo, meaning a strike to the waist which is called a "Do strike". But yea it really does sound stupid if you first look at the name haha.

I found this video by doing a search for Sunline uses. Perfect, exactly what I needed/wanted.

Assassin is my go to for multiple techniques-Imo, it’s comparable to Invisix
Sunline is smaller diameter though. 😊
Hey Ben you have to save me a spool of the invisible stuff in 12 lb, btw every single word you said here was facts, keep up the great videos
Thank you so much for this seminar i learned a lot. Great content
I feel like I need a flowchart to navigate this. There's way more Sunline Fc lines than I thought! Thanks for explaining!
This was very informative. It would be great if you could do this type of breakdown on Seaguar brand
It’ll be coming!! Thank you for watching!
GREAT breaking through!
This totally needed to be posted
I love Sniper. 7,10,16,20 are always in use
I see Super Sniper now. Is that the same as regular Sniper or is it the lower cost Super FC?
Great video! You earned my subscription 👍

Yes, it’s totally manageable! Depending on the size of your spool - 2500 size 6,7 or 8lb is great 👍. If you need above 8lb, I’d go braid to leader.
Have you guys used the fc100? I’ve been using it for leader line with braid and I’ve been very happy with it.

Sunline Defier Armilo what's that do?

what is the best sunline for topwater?
Nice
Which line do you recommend as a leader on braid for smaller guides/micro guides? Which is the thinnest?
It’s less about the line and more about the knot. You’re going to want to tie the FG knot for best performance through those guides!
@@thehookuptackle_usa thank you for the guidance, to be specific the rod I’m having issues with is a 6’8” medium bassX from st. Croix, are those guides micro? By the way loving the new website👊

Coming next weekish!
I just don’t see any reason to not use braid to leader for almost all applications, what are the distinct benefits for running straight flouro
Lower cost, less knots, less crap to carry around. I’m opposite you, I don’t see any real reason to run braid other than froggin’
