The greyed out tech tree is great, I play a lot of random civ to try and learn the matchups for them... lets just say I've worked towards units I can't build 1 too many times.
they should make the cheat codes exclusive for 3-6 months, then release them as part of a monthly update. Also, teutonic knights may not be the best units around, but the feeling of watching them inch across the battlefield and mow down enemy melee is just so satisfying. The flappy things on their backs are awesome too.
The best way to test a new feature is to provide it to a minor part of the players such as letting them earn it as a cheat code in an event. So i would expect it as a gamemode coming to the game :D
I think there should be an upgrade at the dock that any food can be dropped off at it from vills in dark age. It should cost like 50-75 wood and take the same amount of time as loom to upgrade. It could have interesting combos in later game where farms could be put next to malay docks to protect farmers ect. just my thought
I like some of these changes overall. I like playing Malay, so I'll have fun with using the docks as a drop off point for fishermen, heehee! But also, the harbors now benefit from the university techs, Murder Holes, Heated Shot, and Chemistry, which is nice. Their aging's a bit bugged though, hopefully that gets addressed soon!
Teuton Paladins should take out Frank paladins in 15 hits, while they tank 17 hits in return. This should probably give Teutons the best Paladins in the game in a 1 on 1
The change gives them the best paladin in head on fights, behind Lithuanians with 2 or more relics. Teuton paladins will outperform even lithu palas against low attack units tho(Hussar line, Axemen, Karambits, civ lacking blast furnace). They still perform a lil wrose against pure range units compared to cuman, frank and lithu palas
I think this change gives Bulgarians an interesting tech switch. You go cavalry upgrades first, go for a standard knight play in early castle age, then transition into infantry upgrades and have Konniks and halbs in imp.

Those chapters are a really nice idea and very helpful, is that a new YT Feature? Never seen it before on any channel.
Great video as always
Could you do a test on the Teutons melee units with their new buff?
Teuton Paladins should take out Frank paladins in 15 hits, while they tank 17 hits in return. This should probably give Teutons the best Paladins in the game in a 1 on 1
Don't forget Lithuanian +8 paladins...
@@mastodonstrengthandperform6346 if you can get the relics. Which won't always be the case.
@@frankseward7017 this is true. But ussualy at least 2 is not that hard in mist games
Wow its been years since I played this game, it's great to see the game updated.
Omg they made the x256 tech a cheatcode ? LET ME IIINNNNN
I really love that update, all the UI changes and things like that are super cool to me.
6:35 "Increased to 0.8 tiles a minute" I didn't think they were quite THAT slow.
3:23 wasted opportunity for a T90 farms joke.
I think this change gives Bulgarians an interesting tech switch. You go cavalry upgrades first, go for a standard knight play in early castle age, then transition into infantry upgrades and have Konniks and halbs in imp.
Clears throat. "tech tech one two free"
Poor Aztecs, now the Goths have one of their bonuses
I'm sure theyll be fine being a top 5 civ in the game and all
Aztecs are still the better civ most of the time!
@@HawkOfGP Or maybe I'll consider the Aztecs being generous with the Goths
Gothsing: "With this free loom, we shall spam moar infantry!!"
Azteca: *(Laughs in Jaguar Warrior)*
Jeff Finkbonner years ago there was a topic on aoczone about how goth champs beat aztec jaguars cost wise. idk if its still there or if jags have gotten buffed since then
Me: Aah finally. I like this civ and I can master AOE and play online competitively with this civ.
Microsoft next month: Too bad we made some changes.
Me: :O
Haha... That was exactly me with Persians. To be fair it's still a great civ even after the nerf!
8:10 "The UI now displays future technologies". I think one of the devs saw a Day9 stream XD
1:16 it says spanish knight instead of paladin in case you wanna label it or something, also thanks for the content love the channel
No update for steppe lancers this time? A miracle!
Ya'll talkin about Teutons and fish.
8:56
*slams table* THANK YOU!
TK: EVERY DAY I'M SHUFFLIN'.
I want to sleep
Thx for stopping me
Mate, would love to see a second channel for your music endeavours!
Your intro song is amazing
Now it’s a good time to play the Barbarossa campaign.
It's the modernization and QoL improvements that are the real heroes in making this game ready for the next 20 years.
I hope the achievements and unlocks don't bug out like the spring event ones did, the last two were permanently stuck at "unlocks next day at 8am" for me
Stirrups should affert Cav Archers as well, in order to incentivise using them as ranged support. And since we're really dreaming now, I want Bagains on my halbs and dismounted konniks as well.
Leits are the new Camels. They beat Paladins in a 1v1 and trade even cost-effectively against Elite Battle Elephants. They also beat generic Heavy Camels in a 1v1.
damn teuton paladins are badass now. moderately high def all around, hard to stop without hard counters.
So is this the time to accept our new teutonic overlords into our hearts yet?
Glad to see Teutonic Knights have finally taken up cardio.
That commentary on the Bulgarian changes was hilarious and great.
i wished for that update with the food dropped off in the harbour for so long, even back in the days of the original game. Finally.
Hold on, RUclips now lets you divide videos into thematically separated sections? That's awesome!
