I deffinately need to spend more time in Kanto, when I went up to Aomori the landscape was just beautiful and its the side of Japan Im least familiar with.
that's a hard question - there are so many places i love and also long to visit for the first time. Places i loooove include: * onomichi (including shimanami kaido) * kochi, takayama & niyodogawa (most of shikoku as i cycled it) * kamikochi (stunning!) * takayama & surrounding towns (eg. hidafurukawa) * Koyasan (magical and rich in history) * Miyajima (even better when not during peak season) * hakone (well fujisan of course) im really looking fwd to visiting these places for the first time: * gujo hachiman and gero * beppu * ise there are loads more! :)
Very cool castle, the walls are incredible; they are essentially earthquake proof. I can't believe nobody else left a comment today. Anyway....I'm Here!
Jigokudani is a cool place. I went there a few times but it was summer each time. Onioshidashi is a cool place too but probably not in the middle of winter.
Hi Inaka, really enjoying your content as we plan a 2 week trip to Japan next year February. Besides Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka - we are confused between Hokkaido / Nagano. This video was really useful as I feel Nagano is closer and would be great to see snow and snow monkeys. Do you think skipping Hokkaido is ok? What are your views on Sapporo snow festival? Also do you have any recommendations to see sumo wrestlers - is it worth it (can’t make it to the yearly tournament)
Hi, loving your videos while researching for our trip this coming December/January. Thanks for all the info! What month of year did you visit the monkeys in this video?
@@InakaAdventure thanks. I mean what month? Can you remember? Dec, Jan, Feb? Trying to figure out if it will look like that if we visit end Dec/ early January. X
Thank you for another entertaining, informative and engaging video, Inaka. Makes me want to return to monke. PS. I enjoyed Homer's cameo during the Mysteries of the Human Mind segment.
Do you have a favorite trip in Japan? If not let me know where you want to visit the most
To Mt. Osore in Aomori! Drove there staying at Hirosaki and Towada lake along the way :) Thanks for this!
Can't wait for Rhesus Thesis! Mt. Osore is also known as Mt. Hell!

The Sapporo snow festival is incredible, if its on when you go definitely check it out, if its over though then just Nagano is fine

Oh right right, I went in February. You can actually view the park Via their webcam before you go on the day to check if it has snow
awesome vid - thx
You're very welcome, thanks as always
I thought your book title was "Wanna see Macaque?: monkey tours around Japan."
Macaque see, Macaque do
When is the best time to visit? 😊 which month? thank you.
For Nagano February is a good time
Thank you! Is it worth visiting in September? 😊
There is plenty to do in September, but it will be pretty warm
I was trying to see if I could figure out which Jigokudani you were going to. I think I know of at least three "Hell Valley"s.
I was going to mention that, almost exact words since I know of two other Hell Valleys
i never noticed but.. you have the most beautiful eyes
Thanks I guess lol
After all monkeys are cold ..
Yep, that hot water must feel so good
Sorry. what month you have been here
February I think it was

The cold does interesting things to the mind, but that snow pile was just so strangely homer
