The main thing I noticed (aside from him needing to be more proactive) was him not respecting enemy Sojourn, specifically, enough. When a GM sojourn says "THIS ENDS NOW" they really mean it.
It really do be ending now

Great games my guy!
I don’t know anything about comp play but you seem very confident in a gm/t500 game
You were really good. I think the thing that might keep you diamond is if you can't play the other healers to the same skill level
Well done brother.
To be fair he never said he’d be gm level, just that it’s his goal. He easily looks like a masters player and I think he can get there! GGs and nice to see one of these in high elos

Honestly played really good 1st game. Not his fault his hog kept getting hooked in behind walls
I think that’s the situation where you use a different healer that doesn’t need the los. Could be wrong I’m only silver, but my opinion is either him or the other healer should’ve switched to mercy or Moira because of all the tight corners.
@@jrmiles54 pro tip you never play moira, she has no cc and youre playing heals on cooldown.
@@d3cimal172 Yup, Moira’s only good in lower elo(aka where I’m at lol)because people aren’t as good so you don’t have to work as hard to heal your team
@@jrmiles54 every healer needs some level of LoS. Kiriko is the only one with literal wall hacks
@@jrmiles54 A Mercy with such a tight corridor and two hitscan heroes (Sojourn and Ashe) is pretty strong but the enemy team has two hitscans too. Mercy also cannot protect a hero from being hooked into Roadhog’s oneshot.
The only reason he lost the first game was clear and utter hog diff🤣
ikr their hog needed so much healing and he was getting zilch hooks
Makes me wonder what rank he is. Top 500 is a huge range. Like even in most fighting game power rankings the difference between someone in top 100 is worlds apart in comparison to someone in the top 10
And he was super enabling the hog with (mostly) perfect susu's, he had the ability to pop off if he played LoS and could aim his hook. Instead he fed the enemy team
Not like I know what I'm talking about, I stopped playing rank when it stopped being fun
@@aguyontheinternet8436 So you never played rank??? Also what's "LoS"?

Yeah well… he is still good and definitely deserves higher than diamond, he’s now got evidence to back his skill
@@Joshua.C.M We cannot forget how much his teammates are telling him the right plays to do. A lot of the time his teammates told him when to use ulti and stuff. There is still a significant amount of being carried by his teammates. I do think he preformed well especially for the gap and if he keeps playing he will most likely climb but you have to remember that to consistently climb you also need to be a play maker your self.
@@kylesmith987 he may have had calls, but he was very aware and responsive and often would already be on top of it when a call was given, only thing I saw that needed calls were ultis and that’s fine because it initiates team play and it’s good if everyone knows when it about to pop, he definitely altleast deserves mid masters
12:25 If someone watched that game and tried to pick out the diamond, it would be a close call between Cheezy and Dirt

Jay3 the goat. Showed me Ashe and I haven't looked back since.
@Video Toys Tv ??????????
Interesting games. I don't agree with GM3, atleast right now with Kiriko. His Suzu usage was very slow most of the time or late. Another big aspect would be positioning. He mainly stayed all the way back (which can be good) and not leveraging Kiriko's ability to use off angles and distract enemy team (maybe it was because he was scared to get picked).
I feel like only seeing him on kiriko doesn't mean much. We'd be able to asses his rank better if he played anna our heroes that showcase the actual aim. Playing like he did is not hard. He just stood back and spammed heal. He also had SLOW reaciton times. Diamond is fitting for him imo
@@MrDaimonik I wouldnt even say diamond deadass, if he played more risky to try to maximize his value and not just heal bot, I think we would've seen a whole other rating from Jay

He genuinely seems like he could hang in gm with more practice against gm players. For sure in master at least.
They are def a good kiriko compared to how I play her lol. I think they would be in gm if they just got more of a feel for it because different ranks all have a weird different pace feeling.

jay i love watching ur vids just thought i’d say that, i’m really bad at ow but i like to play it for like 4 hours or 5 a day. you carry overwatch content in my opinion, as soon as i get back from school i watch your vids and i just go in my own little world and ignore every other noise
to be fair, if your teamates are aware half the supports in diamond could “hold their own” in gm. But it’s expected that the supports are soft carrying with utility in that rank, and that’s why those people haven’t hit gm. Ranked ladder is more about being able to carry your team than it is “being as good as everyone else”
I’ve only seen the first game so far but he did good only thing I noticed was his anticipation for suzu was a tiny bit too late
He should position himself high ground more often behind his team that way if his tank dies he has a way to escape without being killed
Literally never used high ground, how is this diamond
King's Row is a difficult map to find high ground where A) Soujorn cannot oneshot you and B) You can suzu the hog in time to save him. The friendly hog got hooked on CD, and there is even less of a chance of hitting him in time from further away. That's my 2 cents anyway.
Jay3, i have a suggestion for a video idea, you put a whole team of bronzes/silvers that think they're in elo hell, and put them in a gold lobby, so it's silvers and bronzes vs full gold team
Absolutely great idea
@@r1tesh thanks!
hmm that wouldn't be fun cuz its a instant win for the full gold team
I love watching these because I feel this. Started playing OW2 comp for the first time since launch (play vanilla ow but never tried comp) and I feel stuck in Plat/diamond, because all my friends are basically hard golds ☠️. We have good games, but all it takes is 1 bad random on our team, and the carry becomes impossible.
Best advice, sadly, is to not group with those friends if you want to climb. Grouping - especially with a bigger elo discrepancy - can also cause enemy groups to have smurfs boosting.
Obviously that isn't the only issue. The main one is your skill discrepancy between you and your friends. You should watch their replays to potentially see issues and give them tips.
Yeah bro I only group with one of my friends who has diamond 3 peak, but I still soloed through high plat and that's how I go to diamond 5 last season, this season I'm gonna go to masters, bro I've been plat for a while in ow1 but I was mainly playing on like 2900sr with my friend who was like 3200sr so we were basically always in diamond and rn Im ready to destroy their asscheeks I can easily climb to low masters but dream would be gm that one will be actually tough but you just gotta play more I always have a positive winrate if I play a lot, I was only high plat for so long cuz I would have like 5hours in game every season, got 20h this season and ez diamond and I started from gold 3 ez clap
stop playing with your friends...
Make a smurf. Then you can climb with your main and still have fun with your friends...
I saw Karq talk about Kirkio being better off as a heal bot to build ult super quick, I guess they're doing in OWL, similar to Bap. Heal Heal, shoot, ect
My first week of ever playing ow2 it’s been 3days I’m only only sliver 2 more of a apex player😂 anyways it’s interesting seeing these players play hopefully I can hone my skill and knowledge more.

The thing about support is it all looks the same unless they are making plays
6:40 👀tell that to my moira in silver
13:38 haha I laughed so much at this
even if you're a decent support its 2x harder to carry than a tank or dps player
its hard to carry with anybody besides tank in 5v5, still think it was a bad idea to get rid of 6v6 because if your tank gets diffed you lose the game 9/10 times and it just makes solo queing that much worse than it already was in OW1
@@kel_bandz8462 you can't really carry as a support or as a dps (make the difference) even if you're very good. Cause your role is obviously less important than the tank.

he has to us his teleport more. Not utilizing it enough
It's a big relief to see this video after watching "Bronze deserve gold" haha
This guy deserves in master at least
Im in diamond and was able to hit masters a few times. The speed in masters is like 2x diamond. I cant hang with mid masters and quickly rank down to diamond again. I cant imagine how fast the games are on gm/top 500.
After experiencing masters, i dont think my skill will pass diamond.
Hey Jay I appreciate your content, make me think about what I could deserve… but could you make an overlay, of who is talking for your content on RUclips, because I, as viewer don’t know who hog or cheesy is, so dunno the strat in here
After being a perpetual gold in overwatch 1 and plat in overwatch 2 flexing Ana main, who this season managed to solo q into masters on Zen 1trick.
The statement on their being a massive gap between high diamond and high master to top 500 pace of play and general understanding.
From gold all the way till i hit master 4 this season which took me 70 games. There was little difference in pace and team cohesion until now. You can still get away with mistakes any top 500 player will immediately capatalize on in diamond lobbies.
My first top 500 lobby in my mind seemed like a total shit show but i quickly realised the pace was simply different and I needed to be able to space myself far more effectively without team to fall back on as they are occupied with their roles. I go from borderline walking most diamonds on zen to being smothered by top masters in ranked on game to game basis by now but i stay critical of my own positioning.
Do you do any videos for players who think they deserve to be in silver but they keep getting matched up against grandmasters and top 500 players?
nice one fair play
one time i played with DIRT when i was unranked in comp
Munchkin is going to dominate
How do you show the lucio thing that shows the type of music

Was surprised to see my friend (WongTonFui) in this video. He's so fun to watch.
I just started playing overwatch for the first time in the last week so I’m just tryna learn this game and it’s hero’s and get the 50 wins so I can play competitive
Expect to not hit 50 unranked quickplay wins for awhile then. Takes roughly 80 hours for new players, but depends on your overall skill with FPS games. Still won't take less than 50-60 hours even if you're good with other FPS games, since the matchmaking in this game is awful. Good luck but trust me you wont be in such a rush the play comp
To me it looks like if everyone is full hp cheezy is out of a job and just kinda sits there instead of looking for kunai headshot picks
exactly kiriko is actually insane with consistent headshots literally 2-3 will kill a dps or support
Could always touch GM but playing in it was always a nuisance. Mid masters is Quickplay and smurfing gets repetitive
He's good at ulting and has good healing and his suzu's and damage could use some work I'd say belongs in high Diamond maybe Low Masters
Nanana hes good in high masters low gm. Ur delusional
@@moreece5863I was thinking I watched the video back again and I thought of your comment and you might be right he's probably top 500 maybe top 100
That's literally his SR now ofc he belongs at least there. I think he played well in both of these matches. If he gets a little more practice and starts playing support more proactively he will hit gm pretty quick.
He's ulting too far back, that's something I noticed.
For the first game what do you expect when their tank was getting raw dogged out there
This black t shirt looks good on you

Yeah that was a dumb hog diff.
I'm in gold currently (New player), is kiriko a good representation for skill for gm? I do the same thing and seen many crazy kirikos.
Not really as she's kinda overtuned. When stuff evens out more and gets more balanced, the skill gap will be more clear.
As Content to do with him u can make a video where u try to get him GM
I’m trying to get into Kiriko so I’m going to try to take notes from this
if youd like the guy thats talking with jay has a coaching server and we put alot of great tips and questions plus he does VOD reviews occasionally!
Anyone know who the other guy that talks about the players is?
push < 2cp supremacy
Getting the overwatch effect from this. I’m plat 1 but I know I can make diamond 1 easy. Because I understand and put into practice everything Jay says. But then realize I play console and solo queue.
Your playing crossplay? In solo queue i got easy diamond after 100 hours in this game in my life . If you play without crossplay you get easy top500 after 100-150hours complete gametime. Even as support.
You maybe just to slow for this game and thats okay
he's pretty good
I question that hog first game
my goal is to actually play ranked but i cringe at how sweaty the players are everytime i load into one and go back to quick play
As a diamond tank, I feel like diamond is a right place for myself, maybe very low master, but I like my diamond
Here’s my question. Can you take a silver support (with basics) who listens and be able to win at higher level?
no because high ranks can tell if an ana or kiriko is just playing super passively and will dive them and they will have no idea how to handle that situation and just die every time most likely
@@kel_bandz8462 exactly. Anyone can left click and heal. But not everyone can put himself and his teammates out of danger while healing
Great video!
You know putting on discord overlay is 3 clicks in the settings? Every video you mention it but still never put it on. You can toggle it too.
I mean what else can he do once he loses his Tank? 😂
How does someone get to be in one of these? Like are there steps?
Playing reactive supports is good and all but if you wanna get out of diamond you have to proactively play make as a support and basically be a nuance where if enemy team doesn’t kill you then your team wins always.
Exactly how I thought about it. It’s not about “holding your own” YOU have to carry
If u wanna climb that is
I think that you mean nuisance, could be wrong tho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@KurimuzonKane if your team doesn’t move off of an actual impactful play, you’re either below plat, or you’re wrong and ur just not having impact.
@KurimuzonKane for some reason support players seem to have this idea that using their abilities properly means they made a “great play” when in reality it’s literally your job. I’m not saying you fit this category, but most support players that think they are carrying are actually just doing their job. And the fact is, support is the easiest role to “do your job” as. Maybe not lowest skill ceiling role, but just using your abilities and healing is very easy as support. Just wanted to put it out there, how many things are you doing that the enemy support is not? What are they doing that you aren’t? Think about this before saying “I deserve a higher rank!” As a support player.
I’m bronze locked but I used to be Plat in overwatch 1 and I constantly out frag everyone on my team every round, I deserve at least gold ong but idk how to fix it
He’s playing his role but that’s it, he’s not doing anything more than that. He has to rely on his team to simply be better than the other team to win. So he’s able to hang in this lobby but he’s not being anything more than just a regular healer
Yeah, not a support, just healbot. Supports don't like the term "healer" since it encourages that type of passive play that does not play-make, but that's sadly what we see here. Dude could have thrown a lot more kunai. Even if they miss (which they often do even for GM), an attempt was made.
@@karamei I think his absence of tp and wallclimb usage says it all. Farming Kitsune Rush by healbotting is easy strat to success with decent teams, but I don't see going on off angle trying to snipe someone down or aggressively tp to teammate to help them win duels. Only throwing Suzu at low hp Hog and spamming heals 24/7
@@Harevald Yeah exactly. Good kirikos know when to off-angle and tp back to team. I'd like to give this guy the benefit of the doubt and say it might have just been nerves, but lack of confidence is detrimental on ladder. It's very common for lower supports to just follow like lemmings. I have a lot of experience on Mercy and I am still guilty of this when I use other heroes (Mercy players form this bad habit due to her playstyle of having to follow mid-range), but catch myself and deliberately fix the behavior. Kiriko is great for determining a more aggressive/off angle playstyle, and has improved my Ana/Zen gameplay a lot too.
It really helps to keep that sort of adjustment to playstyle in mind to ingrain it in your behavior so it becomes second nature to, say, abuse highground or wall climb etc.
@@karamei if someone wants to break habit of babysitting people with heals, I would recommend picking support that just doesn't heal a lot like Zen, maybe Lucio. Baptiste is great contender for playing aggressive support, but you still have to remind yourself to not healbot all the time. Jump on highground for good angle to heal people and shoot people down. Use your shift heal for extra survability in duels or hell, even lamping yourself is good value if you can finish off Sojourn because of it rather than dying
Yea unfortunately because i was so nervous playing so high up especially against a top40 dps i played SUPER safe and this is not a representation of how i play in my diamond games
The only reason I’d guess kiriko for diamond is because they are missing all their right clicks. If they had better knife aim they could def hit masters
Ya know, I would love to participate in one of these like, not cause I'm in elo hell, I support hard for my gold 3, buuut, it would be really nice to have my performance rated by a much better player
I love playing Kiriko I hope to be a high rank one day
The fact he teabagged at 4:18 tells me that don’t happen often lol
Yeah he probably doesnt kill top500 players often in diamond lobbies
@@Dartnitt I meant getting those headshots
Did the other players know they were playing with a trial diamond healer? If so, I think their own gameplay would have been affected in 'sincerity'. His own team had many careless deaths not typical to GM and the opposing team had domination in mind. I feel the trial context alters the playstyle a tad. Ultimately, he played Kiriko fine but a stronger healer was needed and thus the likely reason for his diamond stuck.. character swap not skill
Kiriko is the strongest healer wtf
@@BenutzernameXY I've been destroying DPS with a Kiriko pocket since OW2 came out. Where did this strongest healer come from? in what stat?
@@mitchwitdawatwat High burst healing, immortality, cleanse, teleport to bail herself or teammates out of bad situations, wall climb, decent damage, best ult in the game.
If you wanted to get technical, Zenyatta has the strongest heals in the game using Transcendence. Moira has the highest heals in the game without using ult (I think). But I bet you don’t see Moira or Zenyatta used every game in ranked.
Kiriko is without a doubt, the strongest healer.
he's way too scared to take a risk early in the fight. a true masters/gm kiriko isn't going to just sit around healing and looking for suzus. yes he's healing great but if the enemy team has a support that takes actual risks like the enemy lucio to contest the payload had on kings row there is a noticeable gap in performance. it's not that anyone is playing bad but that one team is just being rewarded more because everyone is taking their risks at their level. he might have played with the mentality that he just needed to keep people alive and that if he did he wouldn't need to take risks but that's why you get to masters/gm. great you're healing but ffs when you are momentum locked try to do something.
He’s got the tempo down in one aspect of the fight other than that he’s not really in there with everyone else
I still wish this channel was named Jay32
The problem with Overwatch is everybody thinks too highly of themselves.
“I’m bronze but I deserve Diamond” or “I’m Silver but I deserve Plat”
As if thinking you belong somewhere makes it true OR that getting there things will just magically get better.
They spend most of their focus-energy each match on the mistakes of their teammates instead of their own.
You can’t get better as a player like that. It just makes you bitter.
The high level players have a big ego and talk down to people
NEWS FLASH, IT’S A VIDEO GAME!
Personally I’m getting tired of the sarcastic ‘Thank you”s from people that were toxic and threw the whole game
How about we all just focus on our own skill and improve?
It doesn’t matter that it’s a team game because you can’t control your teammates.
All you can control is how you play. So focus on that!
You’ll get better and have more fun!
EDIT: I’m not saying you can never get mad at or annoyed with teammates. We are all human. But it needs to happen far less often
Diamond thinks he deserves the second best rank, so I put him in the no.1 best rank💀
I am a little skeptical about this dude become gm3, expecialy for more than this kirikometa. First, we only saw kiriko, other important sup like ana, lucio or bap are not showed. He is not good enough to carry with kiriko out of meta in this rank, like cyx do it with hog or quaked with doom (to be fair, they are Top500).
I think Ml7 said, that as a GM you have to play your main at GM-niveau and the other heros at diamond to counter the enemy if you have to do it.
Second, Cheezy knows how to play the game, but i think he is (at the moment) not able to make the difference. It could change if he get used to this faster playstile. He did some little mistakes that he can quickly get under control with time.
My playstyle was changed going into this, i lnew i couldnt 1v1 or make alot of mistakes without being punished so i played very safe so🤷♂️
Comparing him to cyx or quake isn't fair not only cause they are t500 but are also tanks
@Marxmanw3 Than take Ml7 or someone else as example.
Cyx and Quake were just the first players in my mind.
Hog diff. Their hog kept getting hooked or over extended. 😢
how to submit a game for review?
He s a good player, Im in masters, trust me, he can go at this elo easy. In GM I think he would need to be way more agressive and do more damage cause I feel supps are pretty dangerous after GM and contribute to the kills way more than we do at our elo.
Fyi this is prior to the nerfs to kiriko
