If your copying the whole frame then you don’t need to use the lasso tool, but it’s better to use it when animating in the next frames. And if your using the lasso tool to copy just press it twice, it’ll select everything

If your trying to copy and paste heres how to do it (for me at least) At the top, above your drawing tools. There is a button that has two boxes stacked on each other. There are two buttons like this, but one has dotted lines. The button with dotted lines is to copy and the other is to paste. Before you copy, use the the selection tool button that looks like a tied circle and circle around the thing you wish to move or paste. Then click the paste button. Idk if u figured it out yet or not, but this is the first time I got it and I tried to figure it out. Hopefully my explanation was good.
