While visiting relatives in NC, the pastor agreed to let my sister play the organ during collection. This is the song she played. It was so AMAZING, and no one realized the organist had changed! I love the soundtrack from the 1977 Hobbit. I had it on LP and listened to it for years before I discovered it was from a film. It was just a great story with awesome music.

Love it! Back in 1998 or 1999, when we were living in Aberdeen, WA, the Phoenix Boys Choir made a trip up the western coast. I was the Hoquiam Presbyterian Church's secretary, and was thrilled to get to do all of the scheduling for our area. We hosted them at our church for one concert, and one of the other churches hosted a second one. Additionally, our family hosted four of the boys for the two nights they were in town. We had loads of fun getting to sing with those young men at home--going through all of the "silly songs" we could think of, from all of the different families involved. :-D Hmmm...that makes me think...perhaps someday you could do a medley or two of some of those types of old fun songs. I'm not sure most of the ones we used to sing had titles, here are the words for one of our old, old favorites, that was sung by our mom when SHE was a kid, which they learned from her mom because they had sung it when SHE was a kid. A horse, and a flea, and three blind mice Sat on the curbstone, shooting dice. The horse, he slipped and fell on the flea. "Whoops!" said the flea, "There's a horsie on me!" Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy? Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy? Silly and foolish, the whole day through... Boom, boom, Ain't it great to be crazy?!
