0:00 "which procedures you've had and the expectations for your recovery?"
Nice to see the first and only question that reporter asks is concerning the health of his object (as for the response though, a reserved and suffer-in-silence type always downplays about his real feelings)... Here is there hope in journalism~
no sweat through a skin graft~
when employer doesn't care, the employee doesn't either (0:41)~
1:01 "are you just trying to piss me off?
1:30 "And what did your wife say when she saw your face?"
In an interview about his 60th birthday, Niki Lauda recalled this question as his most insulting moment...
A Joker (who is a joke) should never claim to be serious, when talking to a really serious guy... Or that lowlife has it coming (shame on the newshounds that dig dirt for a living, and more shame on the audiences who enjoy and support this filthy business)...
The move is highly accurate, but it took the creative liberty about this James and reporter's encounter~ Nonetheless, the real life son of James Hunt thinks that's exactly what his father would have done... - Игры
I like the fact that he said "I'm POSSIBLY the better driver." That *possibly* shows that, indeed, Niki truly respects James's prowess as a racing driver.
On what we now about their real life friendship I think there is a good Chance that James really did that! ;)
David Foxall The question actually was asked. Niki once told in an Interwiew. You can find it here on RUclips, but I can't remember the name of the Channel.
Jame’s family said that he said he really did it. Question was truly asked
1:33 That question deserves an ass kicking
Yup..the real scenario was even worse than this...Niki said it in one of interviews that reporter chased him after the press conference was over and kept on asking that same question..Niki replied "if u are gonna ask that one more time...I am gonna kick your balls badly" .
Applause for Chris
One dislike, probably from that reporter
It's really heart warming how he avenges Lauda, whilst earlier on, Lauda said about James :
"No wonder she left him" about James' failed marriage.
The scene is fiction and the whole rivalry is exaggerated. They were on good terms and even shared a flat early in their careers.
David Foxall that´s true, but the both of them were what they were, rivals. They never been this kind of personal enemies like in the movie. I´m austrian and as a F1 fan i´m of course interested in the careers of my fellow countryman and I´ve never read or heard Lauda badmouthing Hunt. There was definitely friction during the 76 season, but these guys respected each other and had one of the most sportsmanlike rivalries in F1 history. I really admire them both and had the luck to be flown home from Lauda himself when I happended to fly from Franfurt to Vienna once. He just came into the plane, dressed in jeans and his basecap, said " Hello " to the passengers and almost everyone on that plane went nuts because wtf it´s Niki himself! Never felt saver in a plane.
The way Hunt reacted to that pathetic question shows that simply he is a gentleman! Both were legends.
They were friends in honesty, they lived together for years. Nikki Lauda at the end of the film on the death of James Hunt says he was the only person he ever envied, which is a beautiful ending to it.
The real scenario was even worse than this...Niki said it in one of interviews that reporter chased him after the press conference was over and kept on asking that same question..Niki replied "if u are gonna ask that one more time...I am gonna kick your balls badly" .
But did James stand up for him in real life too??
@@Firemarioflower No..He didn't, They added that part in movie just to highlight the mutual respect they had in those days.
@@shiv_editz4929 His family said that he did. The dude was wild, its totally a possibility he did
The British journalist that asked about Lauda's face and marriage must've broken at least one of the journalism ethic codes, if it does exist back then.
Deserved!
If this bit with James Hunt and that reporter was real and I were there, I'd be cheering Hunt on like he was quarterbacking my team in the Super Bowl. Some people just deserve a mouthful of loose teeth.
his mouth got destroyed omg
is it true that hunt beats the reporter?
Jamal Emyr no one knows. but his kids say he would have done it.
Jamal Emyr watch the movie and find out yourself
sheawnV its a movie not a documentary, its meant to be entertaining and not tell the 100% truth. as such, as Lauda has said himself, its only 80% accurate.
1:55 gone reduced to Atoms
What each bit of dialogue roughly can be interpretted as:
Italian Journalist (first Journalist) = How are you?
Niki = I am feeling okay.
American Journalist (second Journalist) = Hi, may I please know exactly what happened in hospital?
Niki = Sure, I'd like to share about my skin graft operation. I know it doesn't look good, but it sure has the unexpected advantage of preventing sweat to my eyes.
Spanish Journalist (third Journalist) = I'd like to share some facts with you. Mr. Reutemann was hired, and how did you feel?
Niki = I'm happy to share the truth that Mr. Reutemann was hired as soon as I was injured.
German Journalist (fourth Journalist) = I'd like to ask you a little question about Mr. Reutemann driving today.
Niki = Both I and he will be driving. I don't mind that, but we'll see where I and he finishes today.
American Journalist (second Journalist) = Wow, all these facts are interesting.
Niki = Hey, I can't just waste time, I need questions that need to be answered!
German Journalist (fourth Journalist) = I hope you are confident regardless of your injury.
Niki = I still feel confident regardless of injury.
British Journalist (fifth Journalist) = I'd like to know some confidential detail about what your wife said about you.
Niki = (Hmm... What should I say? I need to think of a good answer that doesn't degrade my privacy or reputation) She said that I am just fine.
British Journalist (fifth Journalist) = Come on, don't answer like a jerk, I'd like to know about your personal secrets!
Niki = Listen, you are not going to get anything if you try to break into my privacy! Fuck you! Now I don't want to talk to any of you anymore.
Ron Zhang (clapping)
Is that from one of Lauda's books?
